This brave woman made a good burglar out of one of these thugs.

The well known saying “Don’t mess with Texas” was proven on Monday morning when a 60 year old Texas woman fired her pistol at two thieves attempting to burglarize her home.

According to police, the two armed men entered the Harris county home through an open garage door around 11:30 a.m. Shortly after they entered they were confronted by the homeowner. Thats when she fired several shots killing one of the men and possibly injuring the other before he escaped.

Fox News reports:

Cathy Hanks, a neighbor, said it’s not surprising the woman fired her pistol when she saw a threat in her home, explaining: “That’s really how we are. That’s just Texas.”

“It’s the state of Texas. If you’re going to go into someone’s home, you’re going to get shot,” Hanks said.

Thomas Gilliland, a Spokesman for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told a local news crew that both men were armed with pistols when the woman fired upon them.

Her aim was apparently not too bad since she hit one of the men, who immediately collapsed and died while still on her property. Police did find a gun next to the man’s body but no sign of his partner who escaped over the fence. It is still unknown if he was wounded or not.

Luckily, the woman walked away unscathed from the altercation. She claims that she neither knew nor recognized the intruders.

Police are still currently searching for the second suspect. He has been described wearing dark clothing and pants sagging below his waist showing his pretty red underwear. He is believed to be in his mid-20’s.

This is a great example of why we cannot allow our 2nd Amendment right to be infringed on. Criminals will always have access to firearms whether legal or not, because they are criminals. If this woman had not been a gun owner then this story could have ended much differently. Instead of hearing about a criminal getting stopped, we would be hearing of an innocent woman dying. Americans have the right to defend themselves and I applaud this woman for doing just that.
