Clinton Recount Plan Draws Sore Loser Jibe From Team Trump

H/T Bloomberg.

I knew the minute I heard Jill Stein was asking for the recount the money had The Clinton Crime Family and George Soros’ fingerprints on it

The only thing Stein will gain from this is the money in her coffers.

Clinton in 2016 like Gore in 2000 is a sore loser.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign will participate in vote recounts of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan if they take place, drawing a rebuke from Donald Trump’s team that the Democrat is being a “sore loser” and part of a “ridiculous” effort.

If Green Party candidate Jill Stein initiates recounts in those states as she intends, the Clinton campaign “will participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides,” Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias said Saturday in a post on the blogging website He added that he doesn’t expect the action to overturn Trumps election.

Trump focused on Stein, not Clinton, in a response. “The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, ‘We must accept this result and then look to the future,”’ he said in a statement.

Kellyanne Conway, who was Trump’s campaign manager and is now a senior adviser, was less conciliatory. “What a pack of sore losers,” she said in a statement. “After asking Mr. Trump and his team a million times on the trail, ‘Will HE accept the election results?’ it turns out Team Hillary and their new BFF Jill Stein can’t accept reality.”

“Rather than adhere to the tradition of graciously conceding and wishing the winner well, they’ve opted to waste millions of dollars and dismiss the democratic process. The people have spoken. Time to listen up. #YesYourPresident,” Conway said.

‘Fill Her Coffers’

Trump noted he had won 306 electoral votes on Nov. 8, to Clinton’s 232, the best showing for a Republican since 1988, and the most counties since 1984.

“This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the vote overall and wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount,” he said. “All three states were won by large numbers of voters, especially Pennsylvania, which was won by more than 70,000 votes.”

Stein said on her website that she’s raised more than $5.7 million for her recount effort so far, with a $7 million goal. The funds raised so far will cover costs in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, she said.

“This is a scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded, and the results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing,” Trump added.

No ‘Actionable’ Evidence

The Democrat’s campaign didn’t plan to initiate the recounts on its own because it hasn’t found “any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology,” Elias wrote.

A senior administration official, meanwhile, said in a statement that the government didn’t observe any increased level of malicious cyber activity aimed at disrupting the election on election day and believes the elections were free and fair from a cybersecurity perspective.

Elias also isn’t expecting the recounts to erase what he said was a 107,000 combined vote margin separating the candidates in the three battleground states and overturning the election of Trump, who is due to be sworn in as president in January.

Obligation to Voters

“We do so fully aware that the number of votes separating Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the closest of these states — Michigan — well exceeds the largest margin ever overcome in a recount,“ Elias said. “But regardless of the potential to change the outcome in any of the states, we feel it is important, on principle, to ensure our campaign is legally represented in any court proceedings and represented on the ground in order to monitor the recount process itself.”

Elias said there is also an obligation to the voters now that a recount is planned in Wisconsin and potentially the other two states. The Wisconsin Elections Commission said Friday that it had received Stein’s petition.

Donald McGahn, who on Friday was selected by Trump as White House counsel, will be the Republican’s point person on the Wisconsin recount. He joined senior staff officials in briefings on Saturday regarding the latest developments, according to a person familiar with the Trump transition process who wasn’t authorized to speak on the record.

“We believe we have an obligation to the more than 64 million Americans who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton to participate in ongoing proceedings to ensure that an accurate vote count will be reported,” Elias said.

Foreign Interference

The 2016 election cycle “was unique in the degree of foreign interference witnessed throughout the campaign,” Elias said, noting that the U.S. government had concluded Russian state actors were behind hacks of the Democrat National Committee and the personal e-mails of some Clinton campaign officials.

“We have quietly taken a number of steps in the last two weeks to rule in or out any possibility of outside interference in the vote tally in these critical battleground states,” he said, including having data scientists and lawyers comb over the results, and monitoring and staffing post-election canvasses.

The non-partisan Cook Political Report shows Clinton ahead in the nationwide popular vote by about 2.2 million votes, 64.6 million to 62.4 million. In 13 swing states Trump received almost 22.2 million votes to Clinton’s 21.3 million.

Bravo Chambersberg for tossing anti gun DemocRat

We need to stand strong against Obama and his

stooge Micheal Loonberg.

Chambersburg, PA residents voted Mayor Pete Lagiovane (D) out of office on November 5th after he signed up to be part of former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg‘s Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG).

According to Salena Zito on, the anti-gun influence of Bloomberg made Chambersburg hunters and gun owners feel like they were under attack. And the combination of Bloomberg and “Washington [trying to regulate] gun ownership with more background checks” caused Chambersburg residents “to react in the only respectful way they know: [by voting] out of office those who are infringing on their way of life.”

Mayor-elect Darren Brown (R) says that once he is sworn into office in January 2014, “the very, very first thing [he’d] like to do is get Chambersburg off the [MAIG] list.”

According to Brown, “a mayor should focus on such issues as curbing crime and drugs, or keeping the sidewalks clean—not on the issues of outside groups that don’t understand a town’s way of life.”

Joe Biden: Mike Bloomberg’s gun efforts ‘contagious’

This is from The Politico.

Slow Joe and Nanny Loonberg are to liberal loons.

Between the two they have a combined IQ that is 400 points lower than a box of rocks.

New York and Delaware  are not safe due to Nanny Loonberg and Slow Joe’s gun policies.

While Slow Joe did not set Delaware’s gun policies his attitudes help shape them.

NEW YORK—Appearing at the Clinton Global Initiative conference to present the Leadership in Public Service award to Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Vice President Biden took what he said was “a point of personal privilege” to praise the work of his “old buddy” on gun control.

Acknowledging their failure to get federal legislation passed despite their cooperative efforts, Biden said he remains confident of success. Change will eventually come, Biden said, and “when it comes, … it will be because Mike has sent it.”

“Your passion about reducing gun violence in this country is something that’s become contagious,” Biden said. “Mike knows that we only can bring sanity to this issue when we come together and demand it.”

Accepting the award, Bloomberg said that while Colorado voters earlier this month recalled two state senators who helped pass state gun control legislation, the “public has won” by getting that law on the books.

“Even though we have yet to get the bill passed, Joe’s not giving up the fight, and certainly, neither am I,” Bloomberg said.

But Biden wasn’t done heaping on the praise. “Genius perceives differences; talent, unity,” the vice president said, quoting William Butler Yeats. “That’s Mike.”

Biden cited Bloomberg’s work on sustainability, public health and city planning, calling him a leader that the city, the country and the world should be thankful for.

“I don’t know anyone in my career—and I’ve been hanging around a long time—who does more to create the future than you, Mike,” Biden said.

Earlier in the day, Biden met with Democratic mayoral nominee Bill de Blasio, who’s running a campaign largely against Bloomberg’s legacy. Wednesday night, though, Biden said he wished there were a hundred Bloombergs—and if there were, “we’d be a hell of a lot further down the road in meeting the potential of this country.”

Bloomberg clearly appreciated the introduction.

“If the federal government shuts down next week,” he said, “don’t worry, come back to New York, and we’ll put you to work at City Hall.”

Bloomberg gun-control group facing internal backlash amid growing profile

WASHINGTON –  New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is losing part of his arsenal of local leaders as more and more long-time members of his gun-control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns say they aren’t happy with the coalition’s trajectory and want out.

While the group apparently is growing in membership overall amid an effort to assume a larger profile in the national gun debate, it’s turning some members off. In the past five months, 50 members of the group have quit. Many say they did so because the organization abandoned its mission statement of going after illegal guns, and instead used its political clout to go after lawmakers who supported gun rights.

Most recently, the mayors of Rockford, Ill., and Nashua, N.H., dropped out after saying they felt misled by Bloomberg.

Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau says she called it quits after the group launched television attack ads against New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte. Ayotte voted against legislation that would have expanded background checks to cover almost every gun purchase in the country.

“I said, ‘Wait a minute. I don’t want to be part of something like that,’” Lozeau told The Manchester Union Leader. “I told them, ‘You’re Mayors Against Illegal Guns; you’re not mayors for gun control.’”

Rockford’s three-term independent Mayor Lawrence Morrissey bowed out over similar concerns.

“The reason why I joined the group in the first place is because I took the name for what it said – against ‘illegal’ guns,” Morrissey said at a town hall meeting on June 22. His comments were met with applause. “I thought it was about enforcement of (the) existing gun laws” against illegal weapons. “As the original mission swayed, that’s when I decided that it was no longer in line with my beliefs.”

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., also questioned MAIG’s motives and political strategy after the group spent money targeting vulnerable Senate Democrats in conservative states who didn’t back the bill to expand background checks.

“The mayor of New York City putting ads against people in red states is not going to be effective,” Schumer said.

While the hits to membership have stung for Bloomberg, the organization is still the country’s leading gun control group and offers a counter-voice to the National Rifle Association.

MAIG was co-founded in 2006 by Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. According to its web site, the group started off with 15 members but has ballooned to 950 mayors from 45 states, representing Republicans, Democrats and Independents from large cities and small towns across the country.

Despite reports that mayors are bolting, Bloomberg spokesman John McCarthy recently told the Sioux City Journal the group is still growing.

“Membership has actually increased by more than 50 percent from one year ago,” he said. “We now have more than 1,000 mayors in the coalition nationwide, compared to 650 last year.”

Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott left the organization in February. He had joined after taking office last year. McCarthy said 171 mayors have signed up since Scott’s departure.

MAIG gained national prominence after the Dec. 14 elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn., that left 20 first graders and six teachers dead.

Bloomberg, who had a net worth of $27 billion as of March 2013, has pumped millions of his own dollars into the organization, which in recent months has been dealing with a spate of controversies.

Last month, the group had to apologize after the name of Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was read aloud along with the names of gun violence victims, at a MAIG-organized event in New Hampshire.

MAIG also recently got into some hot water following allegations it was using city web servers to host MAIG’s website. That’s a problem because the organization is a registered 501(c)(4) non-profit, which is supposed to be separate from the city government. That also happens to be the class of non-profit that many Tea Party and conservative groups were delayed or blocked from forming due to heavy IRS scrutiny.

Questions about whether Bloomberg was using city servers and workers for MAIG-related work were first raised by blogger John Ekdahl on June 21.

“It turns out I didn’t even have to look that closely, because the domain is registered to the city of New York,” Ekdahl wrote. More specifically, its domain is registered to the New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications.

“At best, this is really sloppy,” Ekdahl wrote. “At worst, this could be pretty serious.”

Requests from for comment from City Hall as well as from MAIG were not returned.

Mayor Bloomberg to NYC: Take the stairs

This is from The Daily Caller.

Will Nanny Bloomberg try to ban the use of elevators and

escalators by the people in New York City?

I would not surprise me if Nanny Bloomberg would try.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg escalated his fight against obesity Wednesday when he encouraged New Yorkers to skip the elevator and take the stairs.

According to the New York Observer, the NYC mayor — whose stand against large sugary sodas has earned him the nickname “Nanny Bloomberg” — is now mandating that NYC architects design buildings promoting increased activity levels.

At a press conference at The New School in NYC, Bloomberg announced his executive order “requiring all City agencies to use active design strategies when performing all new construction and major renovation projects.”

Exercise is good for you,” Bloomberg told New Yorkers.

Additionally, the mayor plans to send the city council two pieces of legislation promoting stair use. One proposed bill “requires that building owners give occupants access to at least one, clearly identified stairway in the building; and post signs that prompt stair use near elevators.”

The second proposal would enforce increased “access to and the visibility of stairways by permitting the use of hold-open devices in the doors of one stairway per building, for a maximum of three consecutive floors.”

The nonprofit organization Center for Active Design, which is partially funded by the city, will take on the task of “finding ways to design healthier buildings, promote public transit and create more inviting outdoor spaces for activity.”

In a press release, Design Commissioner David Burney told the crowd that architects must play a role in fighting the obesity epidemic.

“The active design movement asks design professionals to be part of the solution and find new ways to encourage movement, both in buildings and on the streets,” his statement said.

Bloomberg told NYC residents that he plans to make fitness more socially acceptable.

“What we’ve got to do is just make it cool — if you will — or socially more the norm to exercise, and that’s what you see here,” he said.

The mayor told the crowd that he almost never takes the elevator and does not stand still when using the escalator.

Over his three terms, Bloomberg also passed a ban on outdoor smoking, supported a one-cent tax on sodas, campaigned against school bake sales and created a program discouraging salt consumption.

The name “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” is well known as Mike Bloomberg’s gun-control arm, which he spends his personal fortune through on ads. Yet the group’s website is registered to, and handled by, official city government servers and staffers.

Domain names for MAIG were registered in 2006 by the New York City Department of Information and Technology, and have remained on official city web servers ever since.

Yet the group’s “action fund,” through which he has piped at least $14 million of his own money in ads over gun control this year alone, is registered as a 501 c4, a nonprofit “social welfare” group with the same tax status as, say, the Karl Rove-linked Crossroads GPS or Organizing for Action, President Obama’s grassroots arm. And it raises questions about why a website associated with the group is being managed by City Hall.

In fact, the various pieces of the mayor’s efforts appear as a confusing muddle online, with sites that are ostensibly not part of the 501 c4 nonetheless being visually dominated by entreaties to click through to the ones that are. There’s little indication that these are different entities with different oversight.

At minimum, the use of a city web server and city employees underscore what critics have long derided as a blurring of the lines between government resources and Bloomberg’s own multi-billion-dollar fortune, his company, and his pet interests in his three terms as mayor.

Bloomberg aides strenuously pushed back on questions of propriety, insisting that there is a distinction between MAIG — which is the “broad coalition of 950 mayors” – and the MAIG “action fund,” which is the 501 c4. The mayoral coalition, they argued, fits within the legislative priorities of Bloomberg’s administration.

Mayor Bloomberg is the co-chair of the coalition of Mayors Against Illegal Guns,” said John McCarthy, a City Hall-based spokesman for Bloomberg who also handles elements of the group’s media output.

“Its activities are in the interest of keeping New York City safe. He is acting in his capacity as mayor of New York City,” he added. “Just as when he advocates for a bill in Albany that we want passed he is acting in his capacity as mayor, because he believes the bill is in the city’s interests. That is the prerogative of any mayor.”

Different mayors involved in the coalition often send out their own press releases on specific issues, Bloomberg aides said, although the MAIG website run by the city is the only such site for the coalition.

Questions about the website server were first raised by Ace of Spades blogger John Ekdahl.

Bloomberg demands donors cut off Democrats opposed to gun control

This is from The Daily Caller.

It is funny to see DemocRats getting slapped in the face by

Mayor Loonberg and his minions.

The 2014 midterms will be very interesting.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg sent a letter Wednesday asking the state’s affluent Democratic campaign donors to cut financial support for senators opposed to the latest gun control bill brought to the Senate floor.

“I am writing to ask you: the next time these four Senators want you to support them with donations to their campaigns, tell them you cannot,” Bloomberg wrote, according to a Washington Post copy of the letter.

“Until they show that they will stand up for the American people and not the gun lobby, tell them you cannot support their candidacy,” Bloomberg continued. “These ‘no’ votes were a slap in the face to Americans everywhere.”

Sens. Mark Begich (D-Ala.), Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) attracted Bloomberg’s politically-influential ire after siding with the majority of Senate Republicans that voted to successfully filibuster a bill that would have expanded background checks on gun purchases.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) became the fifth Democrat to vote against the bill, which he was in favor of — but only to recall it to the Senate floor later. The bill, which came in response to the Sandy Hook school shooting last December, was considered nationally popular according to polls Bloomberg cited in the letter.

“Polls consistently show that 90 percent of Americans — including 82 percent of gun owners and 74 percent of NRA members — support requiring background checks for all gun sales. But instead of standing up for what’s right, and for a common-sense measure their constituents support, these Senators made a calculated vote designed to pander to the gun lobby in anticipation of their next election,” Bloomberg said.

Three of the four face a consistently tough re-election cycle in notoriously red states, while Sen. Baucus plans to retire at the end of his current term. Bloomberg sent the letter to more than 1,000 wealthy Democratic campaign donors, who collectively provided more money for Democratic senators and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the last election cycle than donors in every other state.

Bloomberg co-chairs the anti-gun group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which continues to spend hundreds of thousands on attack ads against Republican and Democratic senators that voted to filibuster. The same organization has also supported senators that voted in favor of it — including Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), who co-sponsored the bill.

A Warning to All Gun Bloggers and Forums – Boston Marathon Explosions

Hat Tip To Old NFO.

The following is from Guns America.

Please read and heed this words of warning.

Dear Friends,

Please be aware that there are what we call “Bloomberg shills” lurking in the comments of gun blogs and forums at present. It has been going on since before the election, and we first noticed it as far back as our January 8th, 2012 article “2nd Amendment Voters Should Vote Ron Paul.”

At first it seemed like fun because they got a lively discussion going, and many of our articles have over 400 comments just because of a few anti-gun comments peppered in by a shill here and there. But as more and more of them have come in, we have begun to realize that it is better to delete them.

The anti-gunners have a plan, and that plan is to make gun people look stupid, heartless, and separate from the values of mainstream America. A recent “whistleblower” post about the Boston Marathon explosions is especially troubling.

If you are part of a gun blog or forum, please don’t allow this post to spread, and beware that more attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders look bad are coming.

As most of us have come to understand, this crisis has gone far beyond politics. We have seen an unprecedented and sustained attack on not just our guns, but the entire pro-2nd Amendment and avid shooter culture itself.

We are being sold to the public as stupid and selfish people who don’t care about the safety of children. I got a forwarded Facebook post from an 86 year old family friend and staunch Libertarian yesterday that said “The NRA Doesn’t Represent Me.” If only he knew what a fool he is being played for, but if you read through the lines, it is pretty clear that Bloomberg’s media campaign is working. The medicated masses are buying the story, because it is being presented in social media environment where people have already let their guards down.

For that reason, we have ceased to allow any anti-gun comments on our articles. This was a difficult decision, but we only did so after calling out several of the commenters and directly accusing them of being hired Bloomberg shills.

None of them defended themselves, and we believe that this is exactly what they are. The anti-gunners aren’t just buying TV ads. They are hiring what are probably unemployed young people in New York City to fish around in pro-2nd Amendment social media to plant seeds of division, trying to hook the emotions of the vulnerable and anti-depressant medicated.

A common theme among the shills is to make us look stupid and ruthless in the furtherment of our cause. We think that they threw some bait into the water yesterday that could make gun people look very bad.

It is a “whistleblower” post about the explosions at the Boston Marathon, warning that it is some kind of false flag to ban the private sale of gun powder.

I believe this “warning” is meant to be re-posted on gun blogs and boards, and on a quick Google search, I see that it has already hit the FAL Files and a few survival boards. We am not going to include the post in this email because there is no benefit in spreading it, but it begins “I work on a security commission and I’ve just received word to start on a campaign we’ve been working on for the last two months and now it all makes sense.”

The “warning” then goes on to say that that explosions were a pre-planned event meant to result in the banning of the private sale of gun powder, and that a young person is to be arrested Friday with NRA magazines in his possession.

The creators of this farce are hoping Alex Jones and all of the conspiracy websites pick it up, and some of them already have. We believe that this is a Bloomberg shill to make us look stupid, and ruthless, that we would co-opt a tragedy to further our cause. Obama’s people have indeed already tried to tie the explosions to “Tax Day” in the hopes of making right wingers look like terrorists, but as we have explained before, Alex Jones is a turd in the punchbowl of 2nd Amendment freedom.

You don’t have to have any “theory” about the conspiracy to take away our 2nd Amendment rights. American “gun control” was born in the aftermath of slavery, to keep guns out of the hands of freed slaves.

Today it continues. The anti-gunners are using the deaths of 20 white kids to keep the guns out of the hands of their racial minority voting “slaves” in the inner cities.

It could very well be that consumer black powder, not smokeless powder, was used to make those bombs. Upon seeing the billowing white clouds of smoke from the explosions, anyone who has ever shot black powder should probably have suspected that this was the explosive used.

Bomb detecting equipment, and most likely the dogs as well, are not trained to detect black powder. I know this because I freaked out one day when I had to go through a airport sniffer after shooting BP. I hadn’t even washed my hands and realized it only when I was far too deep into the line.

But the sniffer didn’t even hiccup. We have all heard the reports that the police were doing bomb dog drills before the explosions, and it could very well be that one dog thought he smelled something early in the day so they brought in more dogs, who unfortunately weren’t trained to sniff BP.

Somebody grabbed the obvious possibility that black powder was involved and turned it into this fake “whistleblower” post about the more generic term “gun powder.” Apparently U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committeesaid “most likely gun powder” was used in the devices. The “Lone Wolf” language of that article does make it sound like they will pin this on a “right wing terrorist,” but what makes this “whistleblower” warning so suspect as a shill is that they do not specify black powder.

As many of you know, modern smokeless powder, the kind you find in normal ammunition, does not explode when ignited. It burns, and it is of course also fairly “smokeless.” Billowing clouds of white smoke like the ones we saw in Boston only come from black powder, and it is a lot easier to get than C4, and you don’t have to make it like the concoctions they speak about in the bomb making books.

Granted, McCaul did specifically say “gun powder,” but it is just too convenient that this post showed up yesterday, at the same time the talking point was implanted into the discussion. The post is almost definitely fake, and planted by people trying to make us look bad.

It is your choice how you treat and respond to anti-gun comments in a pro-2nd Amendment environment here on the internet. Please just be aware that these Bloomberg shills are lurking in your comments and on your boards, and that this is most likely only one of what will be many attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders appear to have different ideals than mainstream America.

We are mainstream America, and after the Heller and McDonald Supreme Court decisions, we were on our way to giving the opportunities of “mainstream” to all Americans. Arm the permanent victims in our inner cities and we will give them back not just 2nd Amendment freedom, but all of the other freedoms they are robbed of by living under the umbrella of a permanent criminal narco-economy.

The Wild West didn’t have the violent crime rates of Chicago and Washington DC, because in the Wild West, the good guys could shoot back.

Bloomberg Says ‘There Are Certain Times We Should Infringe On Your Freedom’ Ahead Of Anti-NRA Spending Spree

Bloomberg Says ‘There Are Certain Times We Should Infringe On Your Freedom’ Ahead Of Anti-NRA Spending Spree

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is helping drum up funds for a multi-State ad blitz this week targeting Senators he feels might be persuaded into acting on gun control legislation during the current Congressional session.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is planning to spend far more than the $12 million he’s already spent on ad campaigns castigating Congressmen who’ve paused at the idea that infringing on personal freedoms is unConstitutional.

Bloomberg, who contributes millions out of his personal fortune to organizations and political action committees (he actually started his own anti-gun PAC last year), is helping drum up funds for a multi-State ad blitz this week targeting Senators he feels might be persuaded into acting on gun control legislation during the current Congressional session.

He’s making a play for the hearts and mindsof low-information voters, with an eye toward offsetting the spending power of the National Rifle Association in the run-up to Congressional elections in 2014:

If I can do that by spending some money, and taking the NRA from being the only voice to being one of the voices, so the public can really understand the issues, then I think my money will be well spent and I think I have an obligation to do that.

Laudably quixotic as ever, Bloomberg’s idea of helping the public “really understand the issues” involves telling people they want something they don’t want — whether it be small sodas, hidden baby formula or gun bans — and then asking that they trust him to protect their safety instead of trusting the Constitution to protect their liberty.

That’s not a rant; Bloomberg said it himself Sunday on NBC News “Meet The Press” (full video here): “I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom.”

So many ominous things in that statement:

Telling Americans it’s appropriate that the state “infringe” on the freedoms of all citizens — not those few who’ve forfeited their freedoms through the due process of law.

Perversely appropriating that word, “infringe,” straight from his most despised passage in the Bill of Rights (that’s the 2nd Amendment, guaranteeing the right to bear arms) — in order to subvert the very freedoms it was created to secure.

“We” versus “you.”

Bloomberg’s comments came as he defended his failed attempt to ban large sodas in New York. At one point, he called the whole soda-ban fiasco just a big “public awareness” campaign — one he still says the city’s health department “has the legal ability to do.”

But his remarks, and his dogged commitment to his social engineering daydream, reveal Bloomberg’s Orwellian attitude toward individual freedoms on every front. In the coming months and years, he will spend many millions of dollars to sell a hypocritical message of gun control not only to New Yorkers, but to all Americans.

How hypocritical? Bloomberg himself brings along a retinue of on-the-clock New York Police Department guards for armed protection every time he flies to Bermuda. For personal protection.
