[Video] Amazing: OR Resident Mocks City Council on Gun Control to Their Faces, During Council Meeting

This is from Guns Save Lives.

I do not know how this man kept a straight face doing his speech.

I think the satire was lost on the liberal loons on the City Council.

A resident of Ashland, Oregon has so perfectly mocked hastily written, knee jerk gun control laws that we just had to share this video.

In the video, a citizen of Ashland, who seems to be of English descent based on his accent, mocks knee jerk gun control laws to the point of absurdity. How he kept a straight face the entire time is beyond me.

The citizen was speaking in regards to proposed gun control laws being discussed by the city. Oregon does permit cities to pass their own gun control laws to a certain extent.

Here is the video description,

A citizen speaks to the City Council in opposition to a local “loaded carry” ban ordinance one of the Councilors has brought for consideration. No facts, figures, statistics, or other evidence of any existing problem has been presented by the sponsoring Councilor. She has however, made emotional pleas to “protect the children”, dropped the “Sandy Hook” tragedy as supporting gun regulation, and other such bullshit.

She actually said “I know there are statistics out there but I didn’t look them up”. WTF

Meanwhile, the Chief of Police has stated that the town has NEVER had an incident involving an open carrier. Hmmmmm no problem? Why an ordinance then? Oh yeah….to FEEL good.

This citizen uses satire to point out the idiocy of the proposed ordinance.

New Rochelle sued by veterans group over historic flag

This is from The Journal News.

This is the most Bravo Serria lawsuit i have heard of ever.

I bet New Rochelle allows Mexican,Cuba and Puerto Rican flags.

The Gadsden Flag flies under the American flag at the former armory in New Rochelle. A veterans group is suing after the city ordered it taken down. From the SAVE the Armory Facebook page.

NEW ROCHELLE — A veterans group is alleging in a federal lawsuit that the city violated its free-speech rights and the state’s Open Meetings Law when a council majority decided in March to remove a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag from the city-owned former armory.

The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association of New Rochelle and its president, Peter Parente, are suing the city, Mayor Noam Bramson, the city manager and four City Council members.

The lawsuit, filed July 26 in federal court in White Plains, seeks a court order permitting the association to fly the Gadsden flag and “nominal and compensatory damages.”

The yellow flag, featuring a coiled rattlesnake, was hoisted below the Stars and Stripes at the former city armory March 21. But the Democratic council majority decided to take it down about a week later, suggesting it was a Tea Party symbol.

“Contrary to defendants’ unfounded, subjective (and incorrect) belief, plaintiffs’ intended purpose in flying the Gadsden flag below the Stars and Stripes at the armory was and is not to make a statement in support of the Tea Party,” the lawsuit says.

Rather, the lawsuit says, it’s consistent with the association’s mission to “honor the veterans who have served and died for our country,” foster patriotism in the community and educate the public about the historic flag.

“It’s a slap in the face, an insult to any veteran that they would try to identify that flag with anything other than what it should be — honoring the service of our people,” said Ron Tocci, a former assemblyman and a retired Veterans Affairs commissioner.

The association is being represented by the Thomas More Law Center, a conservative Christian law group based in Ann Arbor, Mich.

City Councilman Jared Rice, who supported the flag’s removal, said Friday it was no longer an issue.

“I am focused on the daily activities of the city,” Rice said.

Bramson and Parente declined to discuss the pending lawsuit Friday.

A city lawyer did not return a call.

Colorado town considers requiring assault-style weapons in every home

This is from The Daily Caller.

I am glad to see towns taking a principled  stand

against the tyranny out of the Colorado legislature.

What the DemocRats do not understand  there are many

people that their livelihoods and lives depends on firearms.

The city council of Craig, Colo., a small mountain town that relies on hunting for much of its economic activity, is seriously pondering a citizen’s proposal to mandate that every household have at least one sporting rifle equipped to hold a high-capacity magazine.

Town leaders said such a law would be practically impossible to enforce, but resident Craig Rummel, who floated the idea at a recent council meeting, said the point would be to send a message to the state legislature, which he said was “hammering” rural towns with new rules on gun ownership, energy policy and other issues.

“Our voices are not being heard, but if we pass an ordinance, it will go viral, and then they’ll be forced to listen to us,” he’s quoted as saying in the Craig Daily Press.

Town officials are giving the idea some weight.

“There is enough support up here of what you are saying,” said Craig Mayor Terry Carwile, “and I think there’s room for you to convince us.”

High-capacity magazines capable of holding more than 15 rounds will be illegal in Colorado as of July 1, although those who own them before the deadline can keep them. Since the new law also bans new sales of magazines that are capable of being modified to hold more than 15 rounds, it effectively outlaws all magazines, because most can be easily converted to hold more bullets.

That law, and others regarding gun control, have deeply divided the state, with some western and rural communities complaining that Denver politicians are overlooking their interests.

When the Democratic-controlled legislature passed a measure to increase renewable energy mandates on rural electric coops from 10 to 25 percent by 2020 — a move many believe will raise electricity rates for rural customers — Rummel told the council that little towns like Craig had been ignored long enough.

Bloomberg Pushes for Plastic-Foam Ban in ‘State of the City’

This is from Bloomberg News.

Mayor Loonberg is doing the Nazi Party Proud.

Mayor Loonberg like the Nazis wants total control of peoples lives.

Unlike the Nazis Loonberg does not have concentration camps.

At least I do not think he has concentration camps.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he intends to use his final year in office to push for more recycling and electric vehicles, a curbside food-composting pilot program and a ban on plastic-foam food packaging.

In his final State of the City address today, the third- term mayor characterized his 11 years in office as a period in which he made the most-populous U.S. city healthier and more environmentally friendly.

He strode to the speaker’s platform to Jay-Z’s hip-hop anthem “Empire State of Mind,” after local dance groups entertained officials and business leaders at Barclays Center in downtown Brooklyn. The 19,000-seat arena completed last year is the venue for concerts, the National Basketball Association’s Brooklyn Nets, and in 2015 will be the home of National Hockey League’s New York Islanders.

Bloomberg, an independent who turned 71 today, touted accomplishments including a record-low 419 homicides last year; a record 52 million tourist visits; an increase in life expectancy to 80.9 years, the longest ever; construction of 100,000 school seats; and a record 3.2 million private-industry jobs. The mayor is founder and majority owner of Bloomberg News parent Bloomberg LP.

Unfinished Business

“We have unfinished business and only 320 days to complete it,” he said. “Our goal is not to spend the year cutting ribbons. It’s much bigger than that: Our goal is to advance projects — and start new ones — that will keep our city on the right course for decades to come.”

City Comptroller John Liu, who is planning to run for the Democratic mayoral nomination this year, said the mayor presented a “selective retelling of history” by omitting an unemployment rate above the nation’s, income disparity, legal claims against police and public schools from which only 20 percent obtain a college degree.

Bloomberg’s 2009 success in changing city election law to permit him to serve a third term was “a great mistake” and an “act of hubris,” Liu said in a statement.

In his speech, Bloomberg said a requirement that 20 percent of all newly constructed public parking spaces be outfitted to charge electric vehicles would create 10,000 such spots within seven years. The plan would need City Council approval. A pilot program to collect curbside food waste from Staten Island homes to use as compost for parks would expand citywide if successful, cutting down on the 1.2 million tons of scraps sent to landfills each year.

Targeting Foam

“One product that is virtually impossible to recycle and never bio-degrades” is plastic foam, said Bloomberg. “Something that we know is environmentally destructive and that may be hazardous to our health, that is costing taxpayers money and that we can easily do without, and is something that should go the way of lead paint.”

The mayor referred to plastic foam by the brand name Styrofoam. Nancy Lamb, a spokeswoman for Styrofoam maker Dow Chemical Co., said the company’s product is used in insulation, though not in cups, trays and food containers.

Plastic foam makes up an estimated 20,000 tons of the city’s annual waste, according to the mayor’s office. A ban on the substance, which also needs clearance from the City Council, would follow similar action by lawmakers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

Health Initiatives

Since taking office in 2002, Bloomberg has pushed public- health programs, both as a philanthropist and as mayor in control of a $1.5 billion-a-year health department. He’s banned artery-clogging trans-fat food additives and workplace smoking; raised tobacco taxes; increased testing for HIV, cholesterol and blood pressure; required restaurant chains to post the calorie content of menu items; and limited sugary drinks in food-service establishments and arenas to 16 ounces.

New York will make its largest purchase of electric automobiles this year, adding 50 to the municipal fleet, according to the mayor’s office. A pilot of two curbside chargers will allow drivers to fill batteries in as little as 30 minutes, compared with the current eight hours. One will be open to the public, the other to taxi drivers. Both will be in Manhattan.

Recycling Push

Last year, Bloomberg, a former Republican, unveiled a goal to double the city’s recycling rate to 30 percent by 2017. He plans to double to 2,000 the number of containers to allow the public to separate and dispose of glass, paper and plastic bottles. A new recycling plant set to open in Brooklyn will accept plastic items that weren’t previously recyclable, including salad containers and yogurt cups.

“We’ll start by making recycling easier for everyone,” the mayor promised. “As we recycle more plastics, we’ll also begin recycling food waste.”

The mayor vowed the city would bounce back from Hurricane Sandy, the so-called superstorm that caused 43 deaths in the city, flooded tunnels and subways, and damaged tens of thousands of homes.

City beaches devastated by erosion and battered boardwalks will be open by Memorial Day weekend, he said. He promised to present a long-term plan by May to prevent extended power outages and ensure adequate gasoline supplies and hospital services. He also said would protect transportation facilities from future storms.

Connecting Students

The city would spend $1 million to support nonprofit groups to put 1,000 unemployed New Yorkers to work on hurricane relief and recovery projects, he said.

The city intends to create schools this year “to connect students directly to college and work,” with high schools offering grades nine through 14, two years past traditional secondary education, specializing in occupations such as health care, energy and computer science, he said.

To continue to develop the city as a tourist destination, the city will create low-cost youth hostels that could accommodate 175,000 visitors a year, creating more than 1,000 jobs, he said.

The mayor is barred by law from seeking a fourth four-year term.

Bacon Bailout Nation! Should America Support Detroit’s Demand to Obama?

This is from Clash Daily.

It is time for Detroit to sink or swim.

If they want a bailout ask the union goons to bail them out.

Union goons and their demands is why Detroit is in trouble.

Should America pay for Obama bailout bacon to erase Detroit’s $200 plus million deficits? That is the clear course of action that city leaders like City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson is demanding of President Obama as a quid pro quo for Detroit’s overwhelming presidential election support. She, like many liberal democrat officials, believe as the president has reminded republicans, “Elections have consequences.” So heat up the frying pan and get that bacon ready.

In a Tuesday, December 4th City Council Meeting, Councilwoman Watson reminded those in the council chambers that , “After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander, he went to Washington, D.C. and came home with some bacon,” she also emphasized, “That’s what you do!”

Is that what this nation has come to, that cities can spend exorbitantly more than they take in on fat union retirement pensions, salaries and bonuses, and obligate their citizens and the children to a bleak monetary wasteland? The financial aftermath is then left to the state or the nation to be the financial cleanup crew because city officials refuse to demonstrate budgetary leadership?

As much as its Detroit officials claim they want to get their financial house in order, the city public unions demand more, the city cannot afford to tax more, and the citizens are left with escalating crime and deescalating essential city services.

It actually gets worse. Much worse!

If you are a Detroiter and you are in desperate need of a police officer to respond to a crime, or a fire fighter to address a raging fire nearby or at your home, your best response time is a guesstimate. Detroit residents that need rapid EMS services would be better off asking a neighbor or friend to drive them to the nearest emergency room, because EMS response time is totally abysmal according to a recent 2004 city audit.

In fact, the Detroit News suggests from that same study, that in addition to very substandard communication equipment, “Detroit is the only major American city that does not allow a firefighter or a police officer to aid a victim before the ambulance arrives.” If you are one of the fortunate Detroiters that do receive EMS assistance, two Detroit hospitals have shuttered their doors and EMS staffing has been slashed. Sorry, but good luck with that.

So where does that leave Detroiters and many other urban cities as well as states like California and Illinois with huge multi-billion dollars bailouts and have informal requests into Washington for tax payer federal bailouts?

It leaves the nation grappling with the hard truth that former presidential candidate Mitt Romney attempted to highlight during the 2012 campaign. America’s mainstream media as well as liberal and many moderate Republicans skewered him for telling the truth about the quid pro quo that exists in this “You earned it and I want it nation.” This is the new political landscape that is strangulating America’s self initiative and individual responsibility.

Romney was clear and honest when he stressed, that Obama promised, “Gifts to minorities, young voters, and women.” Everything is free and the Christmas tree and all that is under it are up for grabs in Obama’s new America.

Romney went on to affirm, “It’s a proven political strategy, which is give a bunch of money to a group and, guess what, they’ll vote for you.” So why was he vilified by the same liberals who have their free abortion pills, free government bacon, free illegal immigration rights hands stuck out?

Here’s a clue that any reasonable, as well as responsible, doctor would say to a patient that came into their office suffering from a bloated condition of being overweight, and suffering from high blood pressure and eating too much fat; “Go on a diet!

That’s right America, these cities like Detroit that come into America’s waiting room need to be sent a message from 300 plus million citizen doctors. “Our long national nightmare is over!” The prescription is clear, no more financial payouts to cities that spend beyond their means, and whose appetites are larger than their financial ability to pay for the meals they consume.

Here is a suggestion for Detroit city councilwoman Watson: stop demanding to eat bacon and go on a financial vegan diet. Before you shop at America’s bank, check out your own earning ability and what you can place in your own account. Be tough with the public unions that bleed cash strapped Detroiters dry.

Tell the unions that the gravy train is over, and let Michigan’s treasurer Andy Dillon do his job to examine the city’s financial books. If need be let the state take over Detroit’s fiscal operations and wring out the misfeasance and habitually mismanaged city government operations.

This is the real message that should be sent back from Obama and his White House Santa Claus enablers who promised lots and lots of free stuff for a simple vote. Instead give them the lump of coal in their Christmas stocking, but for the right reasons.

You see, if Detroiters like JoAnn Watson and Mayor Dave Bing were smart, they would take that lump of coal, and apply tremendous financial responsibility pressure to it over time. Eventually, the lump of coal that appeared nearly worthless will be transformed into a glittering diamond!

That is the Christmas story that Detroiters must hear and that Washington must tell so that the handout government and the nation will eventually have diamonds all over America.

Detroit, it is your choice: lump of coal or a priceless diamond.

City Attorney Tells San Bernardino Residents To ‘Lock Their Doors,’ ‘Load Their Guns’ Because Of Police Downsizing

This is from CBS 2 San Bernardino.

While locking and loading is not a bad idea.

Does the people of San Bernarido have Second Amendment Rights?

If not telling them to lock and load will not help much.

SAN BERNARDINO ( —  The city attorney of San Bernardino is under scrutiny for telling residents to “lock their doors and load their guns” during a city council meeting.

The official explained that because the city is bankrupt and slashing public safety budgets people will need to start protecting themselves.

City Attorney Jim Penman said he doesn’t regret what he said.

“You should say what you mean and mean what you say,” Penman said.

The city attorney said approximately 150 residents came to a council meeting to voice their concerns about recent crimes in the area, including the murder of an elderly woman last week.

“You could tell the swell of frustration was coming over a lot of folks. They did not feel like they could get an officer out as quickly to some of the quality-of-life issues that they were dealing with as they would have preferred,” said councilwoman Wendy McCommack, who organized the meeting and was present that night.

“Well, if I remember right, I told them to ‘lock their doors and load their guns,’” Penman said.

Penman said the city is dealing with bankruptcy, which has forced officials to cut its police force by about 80 officers. Consequently, there’s been growing criticism about the police department’s response time.

“Let’s be honest, we don’t have enough police officers. We have too many criminals living in this city. We have had 45 murders this year…that’s far too high for a city of this size,” Penman said.

The city attorney said it’s important for people to be smart about protecting themselves and their families.

“I’m not advocating that people go out, who don’t have any training, and buy firearms. I certainly strongly caution anyone who has children at home not to have a loaded gun in the house,” Penman said.

“We need to take our streets back, we need to take our neighborhoods back and we need to protect our homes, and that’s what I think Jim was trying to say,” McCommack said.

The city of San Bernardino has seen a 50 percent increase in murders this year compared to 2011.

Detroit rejects condition for cash infusion

This is from Yahoo News.

Detroit is the classic example of DemocRat rule.

Detroit is where America is headed.

Detroit is what America will soon look like.

DETROIT (Reuters) – Detroit will not get a much-needed $10 million after the city council rejected on Tuesday a contract to hire a law firm that was part of a deal to help the city overhaul its finances.

The state of Michigan and its biggest city, Detroit, announced a deal last week that includes several milestones the city must achieve in the next month to receive the $10 million by Tuesday and another $20 million by December 14.

In a voice vote, the city council rejected a contract for the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone to provide legal advice and to handle litigation related to implementing a financial stability agreement designed to overhaul city finances.

The rejection “means the city will not receive the first $10 million scheduled for release today,” said Mayor Dave Bing in a statement issued right after the vote.

Mayor Bing said the rejection of the contract will make it more difficult for Detroit to maintain positive cash flow.

“It will be more difficult for the City to maintain its liquidity until the receipt of property tax revenues beginning in January. Today’s vote is one more example of how City Council has stalled our efforts to bring financial stability to the City of Detroit,” the mayor said in the statement.

Detroit has struggled with its finances for many years as the city’s population has dwindled and the automotive industry that once drove economic activity in the Motor City has diminished.

The city of 700,000 has been criticized by state officials for slow progress on financial reforms. It needs the money to avoid running out of cash by the end of the year. Detroit raised $137 million earlier this year through a debt sale, but can only access that money if it meets the conditions in the deal.

“If the milestones are not completed, the funds will not be released from escrow,” Caleb Buhs, spokesman for the Treasury of Michigan, told Reuters.

“The actions Detroit must take for the Treasurer to release the funds from escrow were clearly established in the Memorandum of Understanding, sent to the Mayor and City Council last week,” Buhs said.

Projections presented by city officials to Detroit’s oversight board showed the city’s weekly cash flow at just $4.1 million in mid-December before dropping to a negative $4.8 million at the end of the year.

Detroit’s financial advisory board was created under an agreement that allowed Detroit to avoid the appointment of an emergency manager to run the city while giving the state some oversight and allowing the mayor to disregard collective bargaining agreements with unions.

The city council did approve on Tuesday a contract with Ernst & Young to provide cash-flow analysis for 2013. This was another condition set in the deal with the state.

State Council Considering Offering Free Concealed Carry Classes

This is from Freedom Outpost.

It is about time local governments start helping people help themselves.

By giving the people free concealed carry classes everyone wins.

More concealed carriers mean more protection for all citizens.

It has been proven time and time again more guns equal less crime.

I mean no disrespect to the men and women in law enforcement.

But when seconds count the police are minutes at best away.

It is simple dial 911 and die wanting.

Or buy a gun to protect yourself  and your family with.

There are three types of people sheep, sheep dogs and wolves.

The sheep dogs help protect the sheep from thw wolves.

Jefferson City Town council is considering offering free concealed carry classes to residents, due to all the recent mass shootings. Councilman Ron Powell suggested the idea at a City Council meeting a day after a gunman shot and killed six people at a Sikh temple in Milwaukee on Aug. 5.

Had someone with a gun and a concealed carry license been present at the temple, and at the Aurora, Colo., movie theater where a gunman killed 12 people July 20, the death tolls at both locations might not have been as high, Powell said.

“The only sure way to protect everyone is to have a police officer with them at all times,” said Powell, who has held his concealed carry license for 12 years. “That’s obviously not possible. You can either be a victim or a gun carrier.”

Jeffersontown’s Safety Committee, which consists of council members Carol Pike, Brian Abrams, Pam Ware and Powell, is considering partially or fully subsidizing the cost of the class for the city’s residents.

Classes typically cost around $100, Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders told the committee.

While many of our politicians, President Obama, and anti-gun activists are doing everything they can to take our guns, trying to make us a defenseless nation. Many of our local politicians are standing up, and realizing what the real problem is, an unarmed public. The lies the anti-gun campaign’s and the politicians have been feeding the media and the people for years are no longer holding the ground they once did. This is due to statistical proof, and the common sense of our great American people.

The American people are waking up and starting to realize crime is hitting them at home. Whether in the city, country, or rural settings. Many law abiding citizens have been robbed, wounded, killed, and even mutilated do to not having any means of self defense. Innocents are being targeted where “NO GUNS ALLOWED” signs are posted, and many business’ have started taking down their “NO GUNS ALLOWED” signs because the realization that criminals are not going to obey the sign or the law, thus making them a target for criminals at large.

Judges, Law Enforcement, and citizens are now becoming more aware of the necessity of the law abiding citizens being armed. Kennesaw Ga. was one of the first to set the tone for “Mandatory Gun Ownership of homeowners, with certain exceptions, with an ordinance that they passed in 1982. Their statistics helped to prove the anti-gun activists, as well as the gun control agenda are all lies. As people from all over the world are reaching out to warn the U.S. “Do not let them take your guns”, people are starting to listen, because once again statistics are showing the truth about an unarmed nation.

I am hoping that many other politicians, judges, city councils, and law enforcement will follow suit, as they see these influential individuals taking a stand to help protect our citizens, by allowing them to protect themselves. As Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders told the committee “You can either be a victim or a gun carrier.” In no doubt they are thinking about the citizens being able to protect themselves against criminals. But one can’t help but wonder with all the concern about the UN troops coming in to take our guns, FEMA camps, the possibility of civil war lurking around the corner, NWO, and indefinite detention, if these courageous actions by our officials will (if civil war does happen) be the very thing that helps the US win the war against tyranny.

North Carolina: Right to Carry Under Attack in Local Parks!

The article below is from The NRA-ILA.
The voters in Winston-Salem need to vote these clowns out.
We are seeing more and more attempts to erode our gun rights.

The Winston-Salem City Council is the latest local government to take action on the issue of concealed carry in the parks it controls.  On Monday, November 21, the council voted 7 to 1 to prohibit firearms in 52 of the 69 parks under the city’s control.  Permit holders will still be allowed to store their personal protection firearms in their vehicles while parked in the parking lots of the restricted areas.
As mentioned in an earlier alert, there is nothing in the new law as passed in House Bill 650 that requires local governments to impose these restrictions, so the vote to impose the prohibition should be considered an anti-gun vote.  The lone vote against this ordinance, cast by councilman James Taylor Jr., should also be considered anti-gun.  As reported by the Winston-Salem Journal, Councilman Taylor stated frankly, “I don’t support guns in public parks.”
Please take a moment to contact members of the Winston-Salem City Council and express your objection to their vote against the rights of law-abiding concealed carry permit holders.  Remind them that criminals will continue to disregard such restrictions, and all the council has done is assure that safe and responsible North Carolinians will not be able to lawfully provide for their personal protection against the violent predators who care nothing about prohibitions on where they can carry their illegal firearms.

Iowa: Knoxville Gun Ban Proposal to be Heard Monday!

If you live in Knoxville,Iowa or know someone there.
Tell them to oppose this attempt to strip away our rights.
Please make your voices heard.

On Monday, November 21, the Knoxville City Council intends to consider a gun-ban that would deny law-abiding Iowans the ability to lawfully carry firearms in any city-owned building. This proposed ordinance is a direct violation of Iowa’s firearm preemption statute. State law prohibits any county, town, or municipality from imposing local firearm laws that do not conform with the statewide standard. Since current state law does not forbid possession of a handgun in these areas by a person with a valid permit to carry weapons, Knoxville may not legally do so either.

Please click the following link for an overview of the NRA’s position on Iowa’s firearm preemption violations:

Plan to attend the Knoxville City Council meeting – which will be held this Monday, November 21 at 6:15 p.m. at the City Hall – and voice your opposition to this anti-gun measure. In addition, please contact members of the Knoxville City Council and urge them to oppose this gun ban.
