Citizens Form Armed Response Group After Local Sheriff’s Office Cut to 8 Hours/Day Due to Budget Cuts

This is from Guns Saves Lives.

I am glad to see people stepping up to protect each other.

How long before the liberals in Portland try to stop these people?

What would you do if your local law enforcement only worked 8 hours per day 5 days per week and only responded to life threatening calls?

Well, one rural Oregon community has an answer – they formed an armed response group made up exclusively of private citizens working on a volunteer basis.

Josephine County, Oregon – 70% of the land here is owned by the US government. Previously, the county was able to keep its government and law enforcement services running due to federal subsidies paid by the federal government.

When the feds cut that funding, the county had to make severe budget cuts according to Fox News. One of the main things that was cut, the local sheriff’s office. We aren’t talking about reducing the number of deputies or using patrol cars for a little longer then usual. We are talking GUTTED.

The office announced they would only respond to life threatening calls from now on. On top of that, the office would only operate 8 hours a day during week days. The government even went as far as to advise citizens to move to another county if they didn’t feel safe.

Well, a group of 100 citizens decided they could feel safe without agreeing to the massive tax raise proposed by the county government. So, they formed the North Valley Community Watch.

The group responds to calls that the sheriff’s office is unable to. Many members of the group carry legal firearms, although none have ever had to use them.

The group uses technology to keep the local residents informed about its operations and maintains a website and a Facebook page where they post local crime news, recent arrests, and other news.

According to Fox News,

Ken Selig — who was the longest-serving law enforcement officer in all three local agencies when he was forced to retire from the department due to cuts — told FoxNews.com he found the sheriff’s declaration unacceptable. And he felt compelled to guard his community’s vulnerable members.

“Who else is going to protect you when your government can’t?” Selig said.

Selig and his friend Pete Scaglione formed the North Valley Community Watch, a county-wide organization dedicated to helping citizens in non-life-threatening situations, primarily property crimes. It is one of a handful of community groups that have formed since the cuts. Without a robust Sheriff’s Office, their mission is broader than the typical neighborhood watch group.

After the 1st Amendment???

Hat Tip To Old NFO.

This post will scare the Hell out of you.

If it does not better check your pulse.

Ran across this one in the Washington Times…

WASHINGTON, December 4, 2013 — How far will President Obama go to control what we see and hear? How about removing First Amendment protections from FOX News or even from MSNBC, ABC, CNN, CBS or NBC. Maybe no free speech or freedom of the press for The Washington Times nor The Washington Post nor The New York Times or any other major media? Obama would justify it by claiming they are all tainted because they seek to profit from the news business.

Read the whole thing HERE
Going after the 1st Amendment rights for Hobby Lobby for ‘religious freedom’ by saying a for profit corporation does not have those rights…

If this gets through, how far behind will the thought police be on the web??? Especially if you have ‘ads’ on your site…

The more I see/hear about the crap this administration is pulling with ‘selective’ enforcement of laws, putting regulations in place with NO oversight, and the way things are being run (or not as the case may be)…

It literally raises the hairs on the back of my neck…  I thought Slick Willie was bad, but I’m beginning to believe BO is a PATHOLOGICAL NARCISSIST…

And the truly sad point is that everyone in the MSM is enabling him…  Regardless of the situation, it’s always about HIM, not about anyone else.  When you look at what got put out on the Mandela, in his little speech BO managed to reference Mandela eight times. His references to himself?  14 times…

He did the same thing on the Kennedy 50th…

If the administration gets ‘control’ of the media and the web where will we be???  I don’t have a good answer.  But I’ll bet we’ll all be charged with racism, or terrorism or something to shut us down…  And if they make those felonies???

There go the guns too…

Neil Cavuto: “November 1st could be a very very iffy kind of a day….this could be all hell breaks loose day.”

This is from RightWingNews.

I have no doubt Obama wants civil unrest this will be an

excuse for Martial Law.

This will give Obama an excuse to try a gun grab to make

people defenseless servants.

I rather die on my feet than live upon my knees.

Fox NewsNeil Cavuto thinks the Department of Homeland Security’s $80 million outlay on armed guards to protect government buildings is directly connected to food stamp cuts set to take effect on November 1st, a day on which all hell could break loose.

The DHS announced its intention to hire a raft of new armed guards to prepare for “public demonstrations” and “civil disturbances” in upstate New York, adding that some of the guards would be posted outside IRS facilities.

Covering the story on his Fox News show, Cavuto said, “November 1st could be a very very iffy kind of a day….this could be all hell breaks loose day,” noting that the armed guards were not to protect government buildings from terrorist threats but “From American citizens because on November 1st the food stamp program is set to start decreasing the amount that is allocated to food stamp recipients….and they’re worried that violence will ensue.” …

A scheduled cut in food stamp benefits which most Americans are seemingly unaware of threatens to cause unrest next month when families will be hit with a $36 dollar per month reduction in credits.

Now why would America’s first more or less openly communist president want to reduce food stamp handouts?

Certainly the Regime is planning for unrest:

The notion that Homeland Security is preparing for riots is an admitted fact. In June, it emerged that the DHS was purchasing top of the range body armor and helmets for FPS (Federal Protective Service) guards as part of preparations for “riot control situations.”

The federal agency also ran a controversial drill last year dubbed “Operation Shield,” during which FPS agents armed with semiautomatic guns were posted outside a Social Security office in Florida.

As Founding Father of liberal statism FDR observed,

“In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.”

Readers will recall that in case Republicans failed to capitulate to the shutdown maneuver, Obama was prepared to cut off food stamps and have his media blame it on the GOP. If getting predictably shafted by Senate RINOs like John McCain was enough to make Boehner cave, imagine how fast seeing Detroit go up in flames again would have sent his white flag into the air.

A crisis should never go to waste, to quote former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm “Dead Fish” Emanuel — and failing to create a crisis this good would be wasting it. The crux of Alinskyite community organizing is to make people miserable and make them think your enemies are to blame. As communists have been saying since the days leading to the Russian Revolution, “The worse, the better.”

Obama has been impressively successful at making Americans dependent on food stamps, increasing enrollment from 31.8 million to 48 million. (Big Government now spends $41.3 million per year just on outreach to get more people hooked.) All he has to do is squeeze the air hose a little and voilà: millions upon millions of pissed-off low-information voters frothing at the mouth about what they have been brainwashed into thinking they are entitled to.

The media will have no difficulty channeling their anger at the Tea Party and even at quasi-socialist moderate Republicans or anyone else who could present so much as a speed bump in the way of resistance to oligarchical collectivism.

LOVE IT! Yale Study Finds Tea Partiers Know More About Science Than Liberals, Researcher Shocked…

This is from Weasel Zippers.

I bet this revelation shocked and surprised the Libs.

The Tea Party members are not the rubes and hillbillys

the left made them out to be.

The Liberals are not as smart as they would have people to believe.

Although I doubt anyone here is even a little surprised by this, this will send shockwaves among the left who love to claim we’re uneducated morons.

Via Politico:

A finding in a study on the relationship between science literacy and political ideology surprised the Yale professor behind it: Tea party members know more science than non-tea partiers.

Yale law professor Dan Kahan posted on his blog this week that he analyzed the responses of a set of more than 2,000 American adults recruited for another study and found that, on average, people who leaned liberal were more science literate than those who leaned conservative.

However, those who identified as part of the tea party movement were actually better versed in science than those who didn’t, Kahan found. The findings met the conventional threshold of statistical significance, the professor said.

Kahan wrote that not only did the findings surprise him, they embarrassed him.

“I’ve got to confess, though, I found this result surprising. As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I’d be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension,” Kahan wrote.

“But then again, I don’t know a single person who identifies with the Tea Party,” he continued. “All my impressions come from watching cable tv — & I don’t watch Fox News very often — and reading the ‘paper’ (New York Times daily, plus a variety of politics-focused internet sites like Huffington Post & Politico). I’m a little embarrassed, but mainly I’m just glad that I no longer hold this particular mistaken view.”

Common Core lesson teaches fourth-graders about ‘mobstaz’ and ‘pimps

This is from Joe For America.

Every parent where this Communist Common Core is used needs to stand up

and fight to remove it from their schools.

The need to break up the unions also as they support Communist Common Core.

Hopefully there will be no more arrests for speaking out against Communist Common core.

VERMILLION PARISH, La. – Under the new, “more rigorous” national Common Core standards, students are learning a lot of things they may not have  learned before.

We’re just not sure that’s a good thing.

Fourth graders in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, for instance, learned just last week what pimps and “mobstaz” are in their new Common Core-aligned classroom assignments.

Predictably, some parents were not impressed.

“I try to instill values in my son,” parent Brittney Badeaux told Fox News. “My goal is for him is ultimately to become a great man, a family man, a well-rounded man. And now my son wants to know what a pimp is.”

The class assignment consisted of a worksheet with different examples and takes on the word “twist.” There’s a paragraph on the dancing the twist, tornados … and the rapper “Twista.”

“In 1997, after appearing on Do or Die’s hit ‘Po Pimp,’ Twista was signed to Atlantic Records. Under that label he released ‘Adrenaline Rush’ and formed the group Speedknot Mobstaz in 1998,” the lesson explains.

“It was really inappropriate for my child,” Badeaux told Fox News. “He doesn’t know what a pimp or mobster is.”

“I try to teach him morals and respect and to speak correctly,” she added. “It’s hard for a fourth grader to understand Ebonics when you’re trying to teach him how to spell and write correctly.”

School officials told the news site the lesson was considered age appropriate according to the new national Common Core standards. It’s aligned to fourth grade English standards.

Vermillion Parish Superintendent Jerome Payau said the “Po-Pimp” worksheet is designed to encourage discussion of “real world texts.”

“The Common Core curriculum, like it or not – we have to make our students successful,” he said, according to Fox News.

We fail to see how knowledge of pimps and “mobstaz” contributes toward that goal.

The lesson, however, is only the latest example of Common Core-aligned material with questionable content. Last week, a parent in the Sierra Vista, Arizona school district raised concerns about an erotic novel assigned as a Common Core-aligned 10th grade literature book.

The parent was particularly upset with passages from page 80 of Dreaming in Cuban, by Christina Garcia:

“Hugo and Felicia stripped in their room, dissolving easily into one another, and made love against the whitewashed walls. Hugo bit Felicia’s breast and left purplish bands of bruises on her upper thighs. He knelt before her in the tub and massaged black Spanish soap between her legs. He entered her repeatedly from behind.

“Felicia learned what pleased him. She tied his arms above his head with their underclothing and slapping him sharply when he asked.

“‘You’re my bitch,’” Hugo said, groaning.

School officials eventually pulled the book, but we’re convinced there’s likely countless other examples of inappropriate Common Core-approved content in districts across the country. Currently 45 states have signed on to the national standards, though many are re-evaluating their participation.

MCCAIN: SHOUTING ‘ALLAHU AKHBAR!’ SAME AS CHRISTIANS SHOUTING ‘THANK GOD!’

This is from Breitbarts Big Peace.

John McCain is a moron.

It is time for him to retire form the Senate.

McCain has hung on too long and has embarrassed himself.

On Tuesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZsuggested that Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was Islamaphobic because he said that Syrian opposition groups shouting “Allahu Akhbar! Allahu Akhbar!” as rockets hit government offices demonstrated Islamist influence among the opposition.

“I have a problem helping those people screaming that after a hit,” Kilmeade said. McCain responded: “Would you have a problem with an American or Christians saying ‘thank God? Thank God?’” He added, “That’s what they’re saying. Come on! Of course they’re Muslims, but they’re moderates and I guarantee you they are moderates.” McCain provided no evidence to suggest that Syrian opposition groups are moderate, as opposed to the wide swath of evidence suggesting that the opposition is heavily infested with al Qaeda.

‘Boredom’ was not the reason behind Chris Lane’s murder

This is from Fox News.

The psychobabble has begun trying to create  the mental image of

these punks as the victims.

What these animals did can not be dismissed as the did it because

someone  peed in their corn flakes,

The only true justice will be the death penalty being carried out rapidly .

The mischaracterization of the alleged violence by Chancey Luna, Michael Jones and James Edwards began when one of the trio claimed they had hunted down and shot dead Australian Chris Lane because they were “bored.”

The statement is so devoid of humanity and so headline-ready that the media seized upon it as a literal and complete explanation for why these three accused killers acted so inhumanely.

But the statement is a smokescreen.  Boredom—of the kind sane people experience—had nothing, whatsoever, to do with Lane’s death and explains nothing about how it happened.

When normal people are bored, they go to the movies, go shopping or skateboarding or take a drive to the beach.  Only when people are severely psychologically disordered do they think up murder as an antidote to boredom.  Only when extraordinarily disordered patterns of thought, feeling or perception fill one’s mind does the vacuum of boredom draw someone to the idea of using a gun to shoot a stranger in the head.

Chancey Luna, Michael Jones and James Edwards, if guilty, are not normal.  So we should not be surprised, nor take at face value, the self-report that they killed out of boredom, because that excuse emerges from a person who is psychologically shattered and unaware enough to pump a bullet into another man’s skull.

So why would these three allegedly do this if it had nothing to do with boredom? Probably because Chris Lane, a strong man running the streets on a bright day, was as good a symbol as any of what they had lost: their humanity.  They had lost the capacity to feel for others.  They could not perceive the suffering of Lane during his death, nor of his family members after his death.  They had lost that singular, defining human quality called empathy.

My 20 years as a forensic psychiatrist tell me that, in all three cases, it will be found that traumatic life events, perhaps coupled with head trauma, drug use and disordered brain chemistry from birth, left these young men detached from their own thoughts and feelings – and those of others.  I would venture that on August 16, 2013, more than one of Chris Lane’s assailants was, for all intents and purposes, psychologically dead.

That’s why one of the three alleged assailants said they killed because they were “bored”—because his very disordered mind was like an echo chamber that allowed his feelings of being annihilated, dehumanized and dead to boomerang back to him as an impulse to kill.

Air Force Veteran Relieved of Duty Over Refusal to Affirm Homosexuality

This is from The New American.

Christians is the military are being discriminated against.

The homosexual agenda is being rammed down their throats.

The Politically Correct crowd wants the homosexual agenda to

become the new religion to replace Christianity.

Air Force Veteran Relieved of Duty Over Refusal to Affirm Homosexuality

A 19-year Air Force veteran has been relieved of his duties because of his refusal to affirm homosexual behavior. Senior Master Sergeant Monk, recently returned from deployment and serving as a first sergeant at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, found himself at odds with his new commander, an openly homosexual Air Force officer, because of Monk’s refusal to agree to disciplinary action against an Air Force instructor over comments the instructor had made about same-sex marriage.

“I was relieved of my position because I don’t agree with my commander’s position on gay marriage,” Monk told Fox News. “We’ve been told that if you publicly say that homosexuality is wrong, you are in violation of Air Force policy.”

Monk recalled that he knew early in his dealings with the lesbian superior that he was going to have problems. “In one of our first meetings, she was talking about her promotion and she mentioned something about a benediction,” Monk told Fox News. “She said she wanted a chaplain but objected to one particular chaplain that she called a ‘bigot’ because he preached that homosexuality is a sin. She then said, ‘I don’t know what kind of people actually believe that kind of crap.’ I knew I was going to have a rough time in this unit and I would have to be very careful about what I said.”

But it turned out to be what he refused to say that placed him at odds with the homosexual officer. Monk was called in to advise his superior on disciplinary action against the Air Force instructor, who was accused of making derogatory comments against homosexuals and of creating a hostile work environment. But when Monk looked into the instructor’s comments he could find nothing amiss, noting that he had simply compared the United States to the doomed ancient Roman Empire, expressing his concern over the similarities.

“He said in spite of our differences, we can’t let that happen to the United States,” Monk recalled, adding that the instructor “used homosexual marriage as an example, saying that he didn’t believe in it, but it doesn’t matter because he was going to train them the same way.”

But when several individuals complained about the instructor’s comments, the lesbian superior turned to Monk for his counsel on disciplinary action against the airman, making it clear that she wanted the instructor to pay. “Her very first reaction was to say, ‘We need to lop off the head of this guy,’” Monk recalled. “The commander took the position that his speech was discrimination.”

Instead of agreeing with her, however, Monk suggested that the officer use the incident as an opportunity to teach the importance of tolerating diverse opinions. “I don’t believe someone having an opinion for or against homosexuality is discriminatory,” Monk told Fox News.

That was not the advice Monk’s lesbian superior was looking for, and Monk was soon informed that if he didn’t get on the same page he would be re-assigned. Monk recalled that in a meeting over the incident his commander essentially demanded that he affirm the homosexual lifestyle. “She said, ‘Sgt. Monk, I need to know if you can, as my first sergeant, if you can see discrimination if somebody says that they don’t agree with homosexual marriage,’” he recalled.

Monk said that his moral convictions forced him to remain silent. “As a matter of conscience I could not answer the question the way the commander wanted me to,” he told Fox. The master sergeant said that his refusal to go along with his homosexual superior led to his firing. “I was essentially fired for not validating my commander’s position on having an opinion about homosexual marriage,” he said.

Monk said that the incident reveals that military policy is completely replacing all aspects of free speech. Concerning the instructor he told Fox: “If this young man had given a speech and said he was good with homosexuality, we wouldn’t be here. The narrative is that you cannot say anything that contradicts Air Force policy.”

He added that the Air Force has essentially instituted a policy that is pushing Christians underground. “Christians have to go into the closet,” he said. “We are being robbed of our dignity and respect. We can’t be who we are.”

Hiram Sasser of Liberty Institute, the conservative legal advocacy group that has agreed to represent Monk in any action against the Air Force, wondered: “Are we going to have a ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy for Christians so we don’t get harassed for our beliefs? Here’s a guy who wants to have his religious liberty and serve in the military. He shouldn’t have to believe in gay marriage in order to serve.”

The action against Monk appears to be a troubling trend in the Air Force. Earlier this year a 27-year veteran of the Utah Air National Guard was reprimanded and told to prepare for retirement after he wrote an e-mail critical of allowing same-sex wedding ceremonies at a West Point chapel.

“This is wrong on so many levels,” Air Force Sergeant Layne Wilson wrote to a person he thought was a West Point chaplain concerning a “wedding” ceremony of two homosexuals at the academy’s sacred Cadet Chapel. “If they wanted to get married in a hotel that is one thing. Our base chapels are a place of worship and this is a mockery to God and our military core values. I have proudly served 27 years and this is a slap in the face to us who have put our lives on the line for this country. I hope sir that you will take appropriate action so this does not happen again.”

The correspondence somehow made its way to West Point’s Commandant of Cadets, who notified the Utah Air National Guard — leading to accusations that Wilson had disgraced the Air National Guard and had conducted himself in a way that was inconsistent with Air Force values.

The Air National Guard ruled that Wilson’s e-mail had “failed to render the proper respect to a commissioned officer.” A letter from Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Tobias informed Wilson: “You are hereby reprimanded. As a noncommissioned officer you are expected to maintain a standard of professional and personal behavior that is above reproach. You have failed!”

In addition to reprimanding its 27-year Air Force veteran, the Air National Guard terminated Wilson’s six-year re-enlistment agreement, and pressured him to retire. Tobias confirmed the actions, recalling in a memorandum that he told Wilson “that maybe this is a good time for him to move on because we’ve been ordered to not have an opinion about gays in the military and we need to treat them as we would treat anyone else in the service of our country.” Tobias added that “I’m not comfortable reenlisting him with his strong feelings about this matter.”

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said that such incidents point to “a clear and present danger to religious liberty within the military,” adding that “Christians who choose to live out their faith find themselves incompatible with the secular view of this administration.”

Earlier this summer the FRC issued a report detailing a pattern of hostility against religious expression in the armed forces. Perkins said that in a military culture where evangelical Christians are increasingly being targeted as extremists, “the pressure to impose a secular culture on our nation’s military has intensified tremendously during President Obama’s time as commander-in-chief.”

In July the Obama administration expressed its strong opposition to an amendment in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would protect the religious freedoms of men and women in the armed forces. The amendment (Section 530), offered by U.S. Representative John Fleming (R-La.), would specifically expand the “protection of rights of conscience of members of the Armed Forces and chaplains,” according to language in the amendment.
