The 10 Ways Ted Cruz Thinks He Can Make Your Life Better

This is from The Daily Signal.

Ted Cruz is what real leadership in the Republican Party looks like not Mitch McConnell or John Boehner.

Ted Cruz is ready to bring big change to Washington—one bill at a time.

Speaking yesterday at Heritage Action’s 2015 Conservative Policy Summit in Washington, D.C., the Texas senator outlined his 10 policy goals for the new Republican-controlled Congress.

In doing so, Cruz stressed the importance of the GOP fulfilling the promises they made last election cycle.

“These are extraordinary times,” he said.

“Just last week, walking down the hallway at the capitol, I ran into a janitor carrying a screw driver coming to change the sign on Harry Reid’s door.”

The jab against the former Democrat majority leader brought the room to laughter.

With Republicans now in charge, Cruz said it’s time to embrace a “big, bold positive agenda that says to the American people, you had a referendum and you rejected the Obama agenda.”

Here are the ten points mapped out in that conservative agenda, which Cruz says he aims to achieve through “piece-by-piece legislation.”

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

“[Keystone] is an example of partisan politics trumping common sense in this town,” said Cruz on the urgency to pass the Keystone XL pipeline bill, which is supported by over 60 U.S. Senators. But passing Keystone is not enough, he added. “[W]e need a jobs and energy agenda far broader than that.”

His goals for getting Americans back to work include removing the export bans on natural gas and crude oil, increasing energy exploration, and bringing manufacturing and steel jobs back to America.

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Cruz wants Congress to do “everything humanly possible” to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Acknowledging that President Obama would likely veto any form of legislation that undermines his signature health care action, Cruz said Congress should pass “piece-by-piece legislation” that would override specific sections of the Affordable Care Act that both Republicans and Democrats can agree upon.

If that doesn’t work, Republicans must “make it absolutely clear where we [the Republican party] stands,” bracing for the 2016 presidential election.

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

“I have a modest suggestion,” Cruz said. “Perhaps we should move the White House down to the Rio Grande Valley. After all, there can’t be more people climbing the White House fence than there are now,” he joked.

On a serious note, the likely 2016 presidential contender said Republicans have a responsibility to do everything they can to stop Obama’s executive action on immigration, which granted legal status to as many as five million illegal immigrants.

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Cruz is looking for “real, meaningful oversight” of government. In specific, he addressed the issues of same-sex marriage and religious liberty, criticizing the courts for effectively striking down the marriage laws of 33 states.

“The Constitution makes clear that marriage is a question for the states, it’s not a question for a bunch of unelected federal judges who many disagree with the democratic views of the people who live in the United States of America,” he said.

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Cruz said he wants to end “corporate welfare,” ban lobbyist influence in Washington, and pass term limits for members of Congress.

“Serving in Congress should not be a lifetime job,” he added. “But what should be banned is members of Congress becoming lobbyist and coming back after serving in Congress.”

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

In what was perhaps the most radical goal proposed in yesterday’s conservative policy summit, Cruz called to abolish the Internal Revenue Service.

“We have seen the weaponization of the IRS, the Obama administration using the IRS in a partisan manner to punish its political enemies,” he said.

“In my view, there is a powerful, populist instinct to take the 110,000 employees of the IRS, to padlock the building, and to put all 110,000 of them down to our southern border,” he joked.

Cruz also supported the idea of a flat tax that is “fair and simple,” adding that Congress may have to wait for a Republican president to accomplish these goals.

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

“If you’re a single mom trying to pay the bills and the cost of everything keeps going up and up and up, and the one thing that doesn’t move is your paycheck every two weeks, you’re feeling the consequence of Washington’s easy money policy,” Cruz said. “We need stable, consistent, strong monetary policy.”

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Balancing the budget is basic common sense, Cruz said.

“What we’re doing to our kids and grandkids right now, in my view, is fundamentally irresponsible,” he said. “It’s only in Washington when you say, ‘We should stop piling debt higher and higher on our kids,’ that that statement is viewed as radical.”

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Cruz said he will focus on repealing Common Core and championing school choice for every student regardless of socioeconomic status.

“Get the federal government out of the business of dictating educational standards,” he said.

“Education is far too important to be governed by unelected bureaucrats in Washington. It should be at the state level or even better, at the local level.”

Graphic: @TedCruz via Twitter

Cruz warned America has to “deal seriously” with the twin threats of Islamic State terrorists and a nuclear Iran.

Of the recent terrorists attacks throughout the West, Cruz said, “These are not isolated incidents,” adding:

This is a concerted, radical, dangerous attack that seeks to undermine the very basis of free civilization. Look at who they’re targeting—journalists, police officers, children…you cannot win a war against radical Islamist terrorists with an administration that is unwilling to utter the words, ‘radical Islamic terrorists.’ These were not a bunch of ticked off Presbyterians and we will not effectively combat what we are facing until we acknowledge what we are facing.

We the people would like to respectfully request that you remove John Boehner R-OH 8th District from the office of Speaker of the House due to His inability perform the Duties required of him by his constituents. We understand that Mr. Boehner is a very nice person and that is exactly why we make this request. We need a Leader, not a Friend. We would like to request that the Honorable Trey Gowdy R-SC 4th District be sworn in as speaker of the House of representatives

If Obama had any dirt on John Boehner he would be blackmailing Boehner.

After all, that is the Chicago Thug way.

WASHINGTON – He drinks a bit. That is well-chronicled.

The tabloids have splashed headlines about torrid affairs, including one with a lobbyist.

And, of course, he cries in public.

But is there more to the personal story of House Speaker John Boehner that would explain his funding of Obamacare and the president’s executive action providing amnesty for millions of illegal aliens in his budget accommodation with Democrats?

Enter the ubiquitous Matt Drudge who tweeted Friday: “Obama got EVERYTHING. NSA dirt on Boehner must be incredible. Chicago wins.”

Lead lawyer suing Obama gives electrifying speech that every American needs to hear!

This is from BizPac Review.

Listen closely to the words by attorney Jonathan Turley.

President Obama, meet the Founders.

One of the country’s most outspoken legal critics of presidential overreach announced Tuesday that he will represent the House of Representatives in its lawsuit against President Obama for usurping its powers, and if the public record is any guide, John Boehner might have finally found his man in high-powered attorney Jonathan Turley.

Boehner, the Ohio Republican and speaker of the House of Representatives, had already run through two lawyers who backed out because the case was “too politically charged,” the Washington Examiner reported.

But judging by a powerful 8 minutes of testimony Turley delivered in July to the House Rule Committee, Turley considers Boehner’s challenge to the president beyond politics. At stake, he warned, is the constitutional system the Founders created.×9&widgetId=2&trackingGroup=69017

Turley is best known as a “liberal lawyer,” who frequently challenged President Bush during his presidency and in 2011 represented 10 House members who challenged Obama’s authority to “lead from behind” in Libya without congressional approval.

He even admitted voting for Obama at least once, in 2008. But forget all that for a few minutes, and listen to a speech that’s both sobering and electrifying at the same time — and one that should be written on every American senator and representative’s wall.

It’s the least they can do. For more than 200 years, and around the world, better Americans than they have been writing it in blood.

Amnesty is Irreversible

This is from Rush

We must hold Mitch McConnell and John Boehner’s feet to the fire.

They are Establishment Republicans and would cave to Obama on amnesty.

I think Trey Gowdy should become the new Speaker of the House and Ted Cruz should be Senate Majority Leader.

RUSH: Here’s John in Philadelphia as we head back to the phones.  Thank you for calling.  Great to have you, sir.  Hello.

CALLER:  Hello, Rush.  It really is an honor to speak with you, and we really appreciate everything you do.

RUSH:  Well, thank you very much.

CALLER:  Look, what Obama’s trying to do with amnesty by granting legalization and amnesty to five million illegals, while it sounds terrible, I think it really is a great opportunity for this nation, especially conservatives.  What we can do is this.  As soon as he announces it, let’s say, “Go ahead and do it,” and we’ll make sure that all of these illegals know that in two years and two months, we will reverse this amnesty, and they will become illegals again.

RUSH:  No, that’s never gonna happen.

CALLER: We’ll have their name and address.

RUSH:  He can’t hear me ‘cause of our phone system.  I’m not being rude, and I don’t want to be rude.  But there’s no reversing this.  This is not like a piece of legislation that you might think you could repeal or vote out or whatever.  You can’t reverse this.  We’ve never, ever reversed an amnesty.  And, by the way, we’ve never repealed an entitlement, either.  Well, that’s not entirely true.

This is a senior citizens Medicare one.  Dan “Rosty” Rostenkowski did that. But that happened within days, not years.  But there’s no upside to this.  A, it’s lawless. We don’t want to applaud lawlessness. There is no political advantage in letting Obama be lawless.  We already won an election.  We don’t need any more evidence to win an election.  “Yeah, let him do this, and it will guarantee us 2016!”

I respectfully have to shut down that kind of thinking.  This is ballgame here.  Obamacare and this are ballgame, in terms of the transformation of this country.  Now, you might think, “Well, Rush, but we’re gonna know who they are!” They’re gonna play games with this, by the way.  They’re not gonna say it’s amnesty.  They’re gonna say we’re just not gonna deport ’em.

“We’re just taking deportation of these 4.5 or 5 million off the table and therefore they can come out of the shadows, and therefore we will know who they are.” In two years, when we win it all, then we can round ’em up and send ’em back?  That’s not gonna happen.  There’s no way that is going to happen.  This thing has to be stopped, and there are ways.

Even after he does it, there are ways to stop it with defunding it. There are any number of ways. There are all kinds of mechanisms.  The question is whether or not the Republicans are going to have the gonads to do any of it. It seems it always comes down to that.  But this? We can’t just stand idly by and try to find some political opportunity while the president basically shreds the Constitution and flushes it down the toilet.

That’s not the way this is supposed to work.

RUSH:  Folks, in strategizing against Obama and the Democrats, you’ve got to throw out every old rule that you believe in.  You’ve gotta throw out every behavioral pattern you think exists and all the old rules about politics.  We’re in a new era now.  We have not faced what we’re facing now, and that’s what I don’t think the Republican Party gets.

RUSH: Obama’s 10-part plan to grant amnesty, “comprehensive immigration reform” to whatever he says, 4.5 to 5 million people. This is crucial, and I know… Folks, I checked the e-mail during the break, and somebody said, “What do you mean, ‘The old rules don’t apply’?  What do you mean, ‘old rules’?”  Well, I didn’t have a whole lot of time, and in the closing segment of the previous hour…

I find that a lot of people are like our last caller. He said, “Hey, you know what we gotta do? Let him do this and put us in really good shape for 2016 because it will show the American people blah, blah, blah, blah, and bluh, bluh, bluh, bluh.”  These old rules don’t apply anymore.  The old, standard procedure under which everybody assumed Washington operates is all out the door.

I can give you the best example of it I’ve heard.

It’s when Mitch McConnell said yesterday that this move of Obama’s has shown him that Obama is not going to move to the middle as fast as everybody thought.  Obama was never gonna move to the middle, whether he loses elections or wins them!  The old way in Washington would be if a party loses — and particularly in a landslide gets trounced — then it would at least go through the motions of making everybody think that it was changing.

It’s like after the 2002 midterms, it was discovered that “Values Voters” made the difference in that election, and it was a shocker.  Everybody was stunned because it wasn’t an issue on anybody’s mind.  But the exit polling data and further data with other surveys after the vote, it turned out that Values Voters showed up in droves.  The Democrat Party was running around saying, “Well, this means we’re gonna have to be aware of this.

“We’re gonna have to let those people know that we’re listening to them and that we hear them.”  So what they were doing was creating the impression that they were going to soften some of their policies and beliefs that had offended “Values Voters.”  Now, they were never going to actually do it, but they said they were.  The old rules of Washington are: You lose, you get trounced, and then you make it look like you’ve learned your lesson.

You move in the direction of the voters.

originalI guess that’s the simplest way to sum up the old rules.  The parties would do whatever it took to convince voters who had rejected them that they cared and were going to change to get back in favor with the voters who had rejected them.  That’s what is out the window.  There is none of that is the Democrat Party side.  They don’t care.  It’s like I said: The Democrat Party’s basically two different factions now.

For the Obama faction — the community organizers, these radical leftists — winning elections is not required for them to succeed.  Winning elections is cool, and it’s fun, and it’s a bonus. But they’re not gonna stop when they lose and they’re not gonna change.  Obama’s never gonna move to the middle.  But in Mitch McConnell’s world, that’s what used to happen.  The Republicans even are famous for this.

The Republicans are even worse.

The Republicans one time won the Senate and felt so bad about it, they offered to share power with the Democrats in order to show the people that they could compromise and cross the aisle and work together.  It got ’em nothing.  Obama’s not gonna change his attitude on anything. Look what he’s doing! In the face of this landslide, he’s doubling down.  In the face of this landslide, here come three executive orders.

Net neutrality, immigration (comprehensive amnesty), and whatever he’s gonna do on climate change.  This is called (raspberry) in your face.  This is called “(Raspberry) you!” to the voters, and to the Republicans.  “Screw you!”  There is no tacking to the center.  I couldn’t believe that.  I was speechless for almost two minutes when that was the reaction to Obama’s deal with the ChiComs.

“Well, I guess it means the president’s not going to be moving to the center nearly as quick as we expected.”  Really? Now, here we are at amnesty.  Does anybody remember the flood of young children that we started paying attention to back in March?  All of a sudden, out of nowhere, droves and droves of accompanied young children from El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua (not Mexico) started arriving in literal droves.

originalWe found out, “You know what?  We have a little aspect of immigration law that nobody remembered, and that is we cannot send back minors who come from countries that are not Mexico.  We have to keep them.  We can’t send them back.”  I wonder who in the Regime found that one.  Now, I have never believed that that just happened.  I don’t believe that parents in Nicaragua and El Salvador and wherever the hell else, put their kids on trains for 45 days and a hell trip to get to the United States, unaccompanied.

I just don’t believe that happened.

I don’t believe it sprung out of nowhere.

I don’t believe that’s the normal thing parents would do.

I think the Regime is behind it.  We found a jobs posting on a government website dated in January in which the government was seeking transportation logistics companies for the purpose of relocating children arriving illegally at the Southern border.  They were looking for lawyers as well. When these unaccompanied children began arriving, they weren’t even given proper health checkups.

They were “processed” in a matter of hours, and then they were dispersed all over this country to places we were not told.  We still don’t know where the vast majority ended up.  Fast-forward to Obama’s plan, his 10-point plan to grant amnesty by eliminating any deportation.  Guess what we have found, ladies and gentlemen?  If the reports are true, and if Obama is going to give this amnesty, guess what?

One of the items in the 10-point plan… Stop what you’re doing and listen to me, here.  Look at me!  One of the items in the 10 point plan is to give amnesty to everyone with an illegal alien child.  That means all of these kids that just happened to show up from February through June? That means their parents get to come.  That means their parents get amnesty.

That would explain why their parents put them on the trains.  Their kids getting here successfully meant they were next.  This is not an accident.  This didn’t just happen.  These people in El Salvador and Guatemala didn’t just happen to learn this.  Somebody set this up, and somebody had to explain it to them. Somebody, some group. Somehow these parents were informed that their ticket to the United States and amnesty was their kids coming here first.

originalThere’s no other reason.

There’s no reason under the sun that this many parents were this irresponsible.  I don’t care what’s going on in their native countries.  Whatever’s going on there is nothing new anyway.  There’s no way this many parents would send their children on a train ride for 45 days through who knows what kind of hell on the way, unaccompanied, to get to the United States.  There is no way this is a coincidence.

“The plan calls for expanding deferred action for illegal immigrants who came to the US as children but also for the parents of US citizens and legal permanent residents.”  I want to take you back to what I said on this program on August 1st of this year.  I said, “It doesn’t matter that they’re children, because what the American people know is that the parents of these kids are next if something isn’t done here is.”

You and I knew. The people of Murrieta California, knew what was coming next. Everybody knew these kids’ parents were next, and that’s what I was pointing out back on August 1st. (The anniversary date of this program, by the way).  I said, “It doesn’t matter that they’re children because what the American people know is that the parents of these kids are next if something isn’t done to stop this.

“What the American people know is that if this is not dealt with, there’s no end to this, and there’s got to be an end to it.”  Anyway, we thought we were lied to about Obamacare, and we were. But Obamacare is nothing compared to how we have been lied to and manipulated on this amnesty, “comprehensive immigration reform,” whatever you want to call it. By both parties, by the way.

Now we know.

Now we know why we have had this flood of illegal alien children for the last year.  Every illegal alien in the US must have known this was coming, and they wanted to get their own anchor baby, even if they had to adopt one.  The administration did all they could to facilitate them.  So they put these kids in the families of illegal immigrants, which legalizes them — and then their parents down in Central America, El Salvador, Nicaragua, wherever?

They’re next.

All the while the Regime was pretending they were trying to stop the flood.  All the while the Regime was pretending to try to get a handle on this and stop this. All the while the Regime was pretending to try to stop this massive migration of illegal migrant minor children.  They didn’t stop it.  They’ve facilitated it. Now, if the reporting is correct… It’s a Fox News story.

If the reporting of this 10-point plan is true, we will know why.

Top 10 Turn-Out-the Vote 2014 Campaign Slogans

This is from Steve

Now that Labor Day has come and gone, we have arrived at the traditional starting gate of the fall campaign. After consulting with a slew of Republican Party establishment consultants, otherwise known as the brightest political minds in America, I have come up with a list of the top 10 campaign slogans for the 2014 election.

10. McConnell for Senate Majority Leader: Hey, at least he’s not a Marxist.

9. All the policies you don’t want, no matter who wins.

8. Winning by default: GOP victory 2014!

7. Elections have consequences, except for this one.

6. Watch John Boehner negotiate with himself another two years.

5. Vote Republican: Find out how many lawless executive orders one president can sign that he won’t be held accountable for.

4. Common Core make I smrt!

3. Re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic: Vote November 4th!

2. Contract on America: Vote Democrat 2014.

1. You ever been to a Turkish prison?

With “inspirational” catch phrases like this all the rage, is it any wonder why voter enthusiasm for this fall is the lowest it’s ever been?

Resolution filed, ordering arrest of Lois Lerner

This is from World Net Daily.

If John Boehner had a speck of testosterone these charges would have been filed sooner.

Congress takes 1st step toward jailing former IRS division chief

WASHINGTON – WND has learned the House of Representatives is considering whether to send Lois Lerner to jail for contempt of Congress.

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, has just submitted a resolution, HR 664, which finds Lerner in contempt of Congress for refusing to testify before a congressional committee.

Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division, has admitted the IRS improperly targeted conservative groups seeking 501(c)(3) status.

However, Lerner twice invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee.

The resolution only has to pass the House, not the Senate, to go into effect.

And the House is controlled by Republicans, so its passage would seem assured.

If the House passes the resolution and finds Lerner in contempt, she could go to jail, according to a copy of the legislation obtained by WND.

The resolution states that she should be held in contempt because the threat of prosecution has clearly been insufficient to encourage her “to be honest and candid with Congress regarding the heinous actions of the Internal Revenue Service.”

It further states, “That the Speaker issue his warrant directed to the Sergeant-at-Arms, or his deputy, commanding him to arrest and take into custody forthwith, wherever to be found, the body of Lois G. Lerner and bring her to the bar of the House without delay to answer to the charge of contempt of its authority, breach of its privileges, and gross and wanton insult to the integrity of its proceedings, and in the meantime keep the body of Lerner in his custody in the common jail of the District of Columbia, subject to the further order of the House.

The resolution continues, “While in custody Lerner shall enjoy no special privileges beyond those extended to her fellow inmates, shall not access any computer or telephone, and shall not be visited by anyone other than her counsel, clergy, physician or family.”

Stockman said, “Asking the Justice Department to prosecute Lois Lerner for admittedly illegal activity is a joke. The Obama administration will not prosecute the Obama administration.”

He added, “How much longer will the House allow itself to be mocked? It is up to this House to uphold the rule of law and hold accountable those who illegally targeted American citizens for simply having different ideas than the president.”

There is no word yet on when the House might vote on the resolution.

Hat Tip To FireBird @ SHE’S RIGHT.

I just read the article below and my hands are shaking so much I can barely type.

John Boehner has been in the sun too long!  His brain is fried from Beta rays and nicotine.  What in the HELL can he be thinking as he pledges to act on an immigration bill before the November election.

I understand the deal…. there are business owners throughout America WHO NEED CHEAP LABOR.  Why?  Because people who used to take these jobs are now living large on taxpayer-funded government entitlement programs!!!  That’s on the one side, mind you.  On the other side is the Communist in the White House raising entry level job WAGES to the point that the small business owner has two choices – go under or go under!

We officially now have more people getting government assistance/entitlements than we have working and paying taxes.  This should scare the hell out of any thinking person.  But even scarier is that there are people on the government tit who could be filling the jobs that are available, yet they choose to ride in the wagon – and you really can’t blame them.  If you really want insight into what’s happening to our country, read ‘It Pays To Be Poor In America’, by Kevin Jackson.  Written 5 years ago, it’s even more relevant now.

When we have people capable of working, why are we encouraging immigration to fill these jobs????  Our money would be far better spent by reducing the length of time people – and I’m talking about healthy, capable individuals – can ride in the wagon.

Immigrants are not stupid.  They come here, mostly to work and improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.  Mostly…. but how many look around and see the lifestyle provided by the free ride and decide to hop on that train?

I would say to Boehner:  Obamacare (no matter what numbers the White House and the left keep spewing out as ‘great news’) is the gift that keeps on giving.  It has an impact on every single American, and while the left tries to say the Obamacare horror stories are fake (like that glittering jewel of colossal ignorance from Nevada) – they are NOT fake.  USE THIS GIFT by proposing fixes and making them KNOWN TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!  This should be the primary issue for the 2014 elections.

The other gift that Obama has handed Republicans is his failure to take action on the Keystone XL pipeline (read my most recent post).  Obama is paying back Warren Buffett – end of discussion.  The pipeline is about JOBS, JOBS, and MORE JOBS!  That should be issue #2 in November.

If you think Republicans stayed home in 2012, Mr. Boehner – you ain’t seen nothing like how depressed the Republican turnout will be THIS election if you insist on pushing for immigration reform when 99% of Americans believe REFORM EQUALS AMNESTY!  You can take that to the bank!

What the ‘HELLBENT’ are you thinking!!!!!

This is from The Blaze.

There is no doubt in my mind the Establishment Republicans

will do anything to discredit the Tea Party.

That includes trying to cuase a phony scandal involving

Tea Party Members but in truth they will be RINO operatives.

They will even be will to compromise America‘s security

and future by losing elections even the 2016 presidency.

Rush Limbaugh on Monday speculated that the “Republican establishment may in fact be so desirous of getting rid of the Tea Party as its base, they may be willing to lose some elections in order to get rid of their base and put up a new base.”

The conservative radio host also referenced a story on the Drudge Report indicating that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is claiming that House Majority Leader John Boehner told her to wait next year for immigration reform.

Limbaugh when on to air comments made by Boehner seemingly referring to conservative lawmakers like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

“Frankly, I think they’re misleading their followers. I think they’re pushing our members to places that they don’t want to be. And frankly, I just think that they’ve lost all credibility. You know, they’ve pushed us into this fight to defund Obamacare and to shut down the government,” Boehner said on Sunday.

Now, Limbaugh explained, the GOP establishment is “livid that Ted Cruz and his gang engineered, with public support, what happened in the government shutdown.”
