MOMS DEMAND ACTION PROTESTS CABELA’S OVER GUN SALES

This is from Breitbarts Big Government.

I can not see Cabela’s caving in to Little Shannon Watts and her band of harpies.

If Cabela’s does cave they deserve to go bankrupt.

On July 13, Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America launched another shame campaign like others they ran against Starbucks, Staples, and Kroger.

This time, however, the target is Cabela’s, and the goal of the campaign is to pressure the Nebraska-based retailer into refusing to hand over guns to customers if an extended, three-day, FBI-run background check does not uncover a reason for the sale not to happen.

In other words, if an instant background check comes back with “delay”—which gives the FBI three more days to conduct the check—and nothing incriminating is discovered even during those three days, Moms Demand Action wants Cabela’s to refuse to sell the gun.

What this would do, if adopted as a rule, is shift from a system where the citizen has a right to keep and bear arms unless the government and/or retailers can demonstrate that right was forfeited, to a system where the government and/or retailers can assume the right has been forfeited unless concrete evidence to the contrary is found.

Moms Demand Action tries to justify this push by pointing to Dylann Roof’s passage of a background check; a background check that was extended three business days as the FBI searched for criminal history documents on Roof. Although the FBI admitted that they made a “mistake” during Roof’s check, Moms Demand Action is representing it as a “loophole” that needs to be closed and is calling on Cabela’s to take it upon themselves to act right now.

Moms Demand Action put it thus:

Until Congress closes this loophole, it’s up to corporate America to do the right thing. Retailers have the right – and responsibility – to delay a gun sale until a background check is completed.

Here is the problem—there is no loophole. And asking Cabela’s to alter sales policies as if there were a loophole, is just a ruse covering attempts to push a new consumer/retailer relationship where citizens have to prove why they should be able to buy a gun rather than the government—or the retailer—proving why they should not.

Melissa Joan Hart Signs Up As Gun Control Talking Head for Attack on U.S. Gun Owners

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Actress Melissa Joan Hart–Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Melissa and Joey–will be spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’s new gun control campaign when it kicks off Mother’s Day week on May 4.

Hart is also well known for her role opposite Anthony Anderson in numerous 2014 Walmart Christmas commercials.

Bloomberg Business reports that Moms Demand Action’s new gun control push includes an “index” to track accidental firearm deaths, murders, and suicides involving children. The push includes the hashtag #NotAnAccident. The goal is pressure lawmakers for more laws mandating the way firearms must be stored in homes.

The #NotAnAccident index will lump together teen accidental deaths, murders, and suicides with those of children, which opens the door to higher murder numbers due to gang-related issues.

The gun control push will also include the launch of the Be SMART campaign, which asks “parents and caretakers” in the home to: “Secure all guns in your home and vehicles; Model responsible behavior around guns; Ask about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes; Recognize the risks of teen suicide; Tell your peers to be SMART.”

Moms Demand Action will kick off the campaign in DC on Monday and Melissa Joan Hart will be front and center. Bloombert Business indicates Hart will be flanked by “gun violence survivors, gun owners, and moms [who] will gather in the nation’s capitol to release the index and launch the Be SMART campaign.”

This gun control push comes just eight months after The Washington Post reported that no one really knows how often a child pulls the trigger on a gun.

Moms Demand Action Mocks NRA For Following Gun Laws In Nashville

This is from AmmoLand.

This brain dead harpie needs to be locked away in a padded room.

Shannon-Watts

Shannon Watts

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- On April 6 2015, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America mocked the NRA for planning to follow state and local laws regarding gun possession and display at the upcoming NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits in Nashville.

Moms Demand Action did this based on the fact that display guns at vendor’s booths are required to have their firing pins removed. Once Moms Demand Action saw that this was the case, they then mocked the NRA for “being ok with loaded guns on playgrounds and in bars and school, but not at their convention.”

What the over-eagerly Moms failed to note is that guns with firing pins are not banned at the NRA convention. In fact, concealed carry permit holders can and will carry their firearms at the convention–if they so choose.

The NRA is not a legislative body but a civil rights organization that has to follow federal, state, and local laws just like everybody else. Because of that, guns sitting at vendors’ booths–guns that could be commandeered by unknown persons and used for ill intent–will have their firing pins removed, thus rendering them inoperable. But handguns in the possession of concealed carry permit holders will be permitted where state and local law allows.

The convention is taking place in two different venues: The Music City Center and the Bridgestone Arena. The former allows concealed carry and the latter does not, so convention attendees will be able to carry in the one but not the other. These are not NRA policies, these are local policies.

Why is Moms Demand Action mocking the NRA for following gun laws and policies?

Police chief sues to overturn will of the voters, make gun rights ‘alienable

This is from Examiner.com.

If  St. Louis Police chief Sam Dotson is elected get him recalled if he is appointed pressure politicians to remove him from office.

Not a damned thing

When Missourians voted overwhelmingly in favor of Amendment 5, which amends the Missouri constitution to state that the right to keep and bear arms in “unalienable,” they did so in defiance of the wishes of St. Louis Police chief Sam Dotson, who tried (unsuccessfully) to keep the measure off the ballot in the first place. One might think that with 61 percent of the electorate having voted for the amendment, he would find himself forced to admit defeat.

As the Maryville Daily Forum reported last week, though, attributing even that modest degree of wisdom to Chief Dotson would be overly optimistic:

Opponents of a gun-rights amendment recently approved by Missouri voters filed a legal challenge Wednesday asking the state Supreme Court to overturn the election results on the grounds that it was misleading.

As with the similar lawsuit filed before the election by Dotson and Rebecca Morgan, of “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America,” the suit claims, in effect, that Missouri voters were not clever enough to know what they voted for when they approved Amendment 5 by such a huge margin. Therefore, their votes shouldn’t count.

The earlier lawsuit was rejected on the grounds that even if the ballot language were too vague, there was not enough time before the election to change it. The prospect of arbitrarily and retroactively throwing out the expressed wishes of the voters would seem even more unlikely.

Dotson and Demanding Mom Rebecca Morgan are of course not alone in their abhorrence of Amendment 5. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch editorial board is similarly unhappy.

The proposal was put on the ballot by the same Republican-controlled Legislature that believes, in the absence of any evidence, that President Barack Obama is coming for your guns. They have tried (and failed) to nullify federal gun laws. Instead they messed with the state’s constitution (which was working just fine) purely so they could stand up at election time and talk about how pro-gun they are. Placing Amendment 5 on the ballot was nothing but dangerous political pandering.

Their most strenuous objection to Amendment 5 is the . . . interesting notion that it “arms felons”:

The current state of affairs seems to reinforce Mr. Dotson’s position that the amendment’s wording was misleading. It surely didn’t tell voters that they’d be handing guns to felons, but that’s precisely what is happening right now.

Speaking of using wording that failed to give voters sufficient information (a charge that editorial board has made against the same ballot language in the past), the Post-Dispatch seems to be keeping a rather relevant portion of the actual text of Amendment 5 secret from readers:

Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent the general assembly from enacting general laws which limit the rights of convicted violent felons or those adjudicated by a court to be a danger to self or others as a result of mental disorder or mental infirmity.

One could of course argue that this portion of Amendment 5 would seem to be in direct contradiction of its purported purpose of declaring the right to keep and bear arms “unalienable” (given that it provides explicit language permitting “aliening” the right under certain circumstances)–and indeed one has made precisely that contention. That, however, is clearly not the Post-Dispatch’s argument.

Dotson wants to use the power of government to overturn the overwhelmingly popular will of the people. That’s kinda dangerous with an armed populace.

A big Second Amendment win in Wisconsin

This is from Joe For America.

I bet little Mikey Bloomberg is furious he failed to buy another election.

Take that Mike Bloomberg.  We all know how much Mike Bloomberg hates freedom and the Second Amendment.  He’s committed to, among other things, supporting politicians and ballot measures that will gut the Right to Bear Arms.  We are pleased to say that he’s on a solid losing streak.

His Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America have morphed into a group called Everytown for Gun Safety.  Bloomberg has put up $50 million in the 2014 election cycle to support politicians and measures that will pave the way for confiscation of firearms as the government has done in Australia.

Bloomberg has some small wins.  He helped out with the Colorado and New Jersey magazine bans and was on-board with the very restrictive New York state firearm law.  Colorado didn’t work out so well for the anti-gunners, Magpul shut down operations and move to Texas and Montana and they’ve gotten a ton of hostile press.  There’s a very good chance that, if Republicans take the Senate in Colorado in November they’ll rescind the magazine ban.  Magpul won’t be back though.

Sheriff David Clarke, Sheriff of Milwaukee County Wisconsin was at the center of Bloomberg’s ire, and Mike put $150,000 into the Sheriff’s race against Clarke.  Bloomberg spent more money on the race than both candidates, and here’s why.

We love Sheriff Clarke.  When Joe Arpaio finally dies in office, we’d invite Clarke to move to Phoenix and get away from the cold winters, he’s a snow bird we’d love to host.

As you can tell by the comments from the interview, Clarke’s Protect Your Family PSA got people fired up and it made him a target for the anti-gunners like Bloomberg.  Add to that the fact that Milwaukee County is a Democratic stronghold in Wisconsin and you’ve got a recipe for a Bloomberg victory, given that Clarke is a Democrat and it was the Democratic Primary that Bloomberg was trying to buy.

It looks like Milwaukee County isn’t for sale.  Not even the Democratic part of Milwaukee County because Bloomberg’s $150,000 bought him nothing but the thanks of the media outlets who got the money.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s dollars have been defeated again, this time in Wisconsin. Despite Bloomberg dumping $150,000 into the Democrat primary for Milwaukee County Sheriff on behalf of anti-gun Milwaukee Police Lt. Chris Moews with a goal of defeating pro-self defense incumbent Sheriff David Clarke, Clarke was victorious last night. Clarke defeated Moews 52 percent to 48 percent.

Here at Curmudgeon Central we offer our sincere congratulations to Sheriff Clarke in his victory.  Something we didn’t think we’d see in our lifetime, a Democrat we would proudly vote for.

MOMS DEMAND FOUNDER: GOOD GUY WITH GUN ‘HAS NEVER’ STOPPED BAD GUY WITH GUN

This is from Breitbarts Big Government.

Shannon Watts proves the old saying that “Ignorance is Bliss.”

My question is how can anyone be this ignorant?

On June 7, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America founder Shannon Watts said a good guy with a gun “has never” stopped a bad guy with a gun.

Watts made this comment in response to a question from CNN host Victor Blackwell.

Blackwell said:

I want to challenge you on something Shannon. Wayne LaPierre, executive director of the NRA, after Sandy Hook, said the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. And I think, essentially [what guns rights proponents are saying] is [they] want their wives to be able to carry–to be the good person with the gun. Is there an example in school shootings or a mall shooting or these public facilities, where that has been wrong? Where a bad guy with a gun has been stopped in any other way or by a person other than a law enforcement officer with a gun or by killing himself?

Watts responded: “This has never happened. Data shows it doesn’t happen.”

But it does happen–and it happens all the time.

In February 2013 an armed guard in Atlanta subdued and disarmed a shooter at an Atlanta middle school.

On December 16 Breitbart News reported the Arapahoe High School shooting only last 80 seconds because the school’s armed resource officer closed in on the shooter, who subsequently killed himself.

On June 6 Breitbart News reported on how a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a guy who was attacking a courthouse in Georgia.

On November 7 Breitbart News reported guns are used defensively an estimated 2,082 times a day in America. That’s over 2,000 times a day a good guy with a gun acts to stop a bad guy armed with a weapon of some sort.
