Robert Spencer in PJ Media: 10 Things We Should Have Done Since 9/11 to Defeat the Jihad

This is from Jihad Watch.

Robert Spencer is spot on with his comments.

Sadly, political correctness would have stopped this plan from being revealed and implemented.

if I had been President of the United States. My latest at PJ Media:

Speaking from the Oval Office on the evening of September 11, 2001, I gave the American people and the world at large a brief explanation of the 1,400-year history of Islamic jihad, its ultimate goal of imposing Sharia upon the world, and how that would mean the denial of basic rights to women, non-Muslims, and others.

Looking straight into the camera, I said: “We do not seek war with Muslim nations. If war is brought to us, however, we will defend our nation, our allies, our freedom, and our families. We will not be subjugated. This is a different kind of war from the wars we have fought in the past. It is an ideological war and a war fought by believers in certain ideas rather than by soldiers from particular nations. We will, therefore, fight this new kind of war in a new way. No nation of the world will be a friend to the United States if it holds the beliefs that led to this heinous attack today and allows them to be taught. I invite and call upon the Muslims of the world to choose a society based on the principles of the freedom of speech and the equality of rights before the law. Make no mistake: we will defend those principles. And we will prevail.”

That evening I also instructed Secretary of State Bolton to start working in these directions (and seriously, if America had a sane and open-eyed political culture today, and an effective opposition to the ruling party, it would implement measures like these):

1. Tell the truth about Islamic jihad and supremacism.
Already on September 11, 2001, we were hearing that the attack had nothing to do with Islam. Thirteen years later, it is a constant crescendo. On Wednesday, Australian police raided an Islamic bookstore and arrested two Muslims on terror charges relating to their activities in recruiting Muslims for the jihad in Syria. Australian Federal Police National Manager Counter Terrorism Assistant Commissioner Neil Gaughan insisted: “This has got nothing to do with Islam, this is criminal behaviour by Australians involved in terrorist activity.” That same day, Secretary of State John Kerry said that the Islamic State’s “hateful ideology has nothing do with Islam.”

Gaughan and Kerry are just the latest in a steady stream of non-Muslims who know more about Islam than the leader of the Islamic State, the caliph Ibrahim, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who has a PhD in Islamic Studies. This denial and willful ignorance about the fact that Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify their actions and make recruits only fosters complacency among non-Muslims and makes them more vulnerable.

This denial and willful ignorance must be decisively rejected. Why? Because it kills. Thirteen people were killed at Fort Hood because U.S. Army officials were afraid to buck the politically correct culture and act against a Muslim officer who was in touch with Anwar al-Awlaki and had frightened his coworkers with his talk of jihad.

Ultimately, no good comes from evading and obfuscating the truth. Reality will always impinge upon fantasy, no matter how cleverly constructed.

2. Take pride in our own culture.

The U.S. today faces an even stronger enemy than the Islamic jihadists – and stronger than Russia and China as well. That enemy is the entrenched culture of self-hatred that denigrates anything and everything American, and exalts the most inveterate America-haters as heroic underdogs struggling valiantly against a brutal and blind behemoth. That entrenched culture is the foremost obstacle to our defense against jihad terror and Islamic supremacism, in a never-ending tale of obfuscation of a genuine threat and slander of those who call attention to it.

In the aftermath of 9/11, George W. Bush should have called upon the education establishment to reject the revisionism and self-hatred that dominates the textbook view of American history and Western civilization today, and to recognize that Western culture and civilization are seriously threatened today and are worth defending.

American citizens should stop spending so little time learning the history of their own country, and the civilization of the Western world, and so much more on a mishmash of practically everything — which, in the case of Islam, also has become a carefully devised method to impart misinformation. Islamic supremacists calculatedly employ the rhetoric of inclusion and multiculturalism to gain for themselves the right of final edit of discussion of Islam in American history textbooks. We must re-learn our own history. We need to take pride in much of it, and to revere, not find new ways to deride, those who built the political and legal institutions of this country, with its unrivaled freedoms and concern for individual rights.

It should also be made a requirement in public schools to teach that there is an ongoing Islamic jihad against the United States, and what a jihad is, and what it means to accomplish, and why it should be resisted.

3. Enforce existing laws.

Section 2385 of the federal criminal code states that,

whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government…shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.[1]

It could be that the proviso in this statute that the overthrow of the government must be planned as taking place by “force and violence” may prevent this law from being applied against Muslim Brotherhood groups that are intent on subverting America from within. Legal minds should study that issue. But surely – somehow — working toward “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within,” as the Muslim Brotherhood has stated its own strategic goal for America, ought to be a prosecutable offense.

4. Challenge Muslim organizations.

It is remarkable that thirteen years after 9/11, not a single mosque or Islamic school in the U.S. has any organized program to teach Muslims why the al-Qaeda/Islamic State understanding of Islam is wrong and should be rejected. Yet they ostensibly reject this view of Islam, so why don’t such programs exist? Even more remarkable than their absence is the fact that no government or law enforcement authorities are calling upon Muslims to implement them.

Such programs must be instituted, and made transparent and open to inspection, so as to ensure their sincerity and thoroughness.

5. Call on Muslim groups to renounce the aspects of Sharia that contradict constitutional freedoms.

The U.S. government should call upon Islamic advocacy groups in this country to renounce, in a sincere and genuine manner, any intention now or in the future to replace the Constitution of the United States with Islamic Sharia. The sincerity of this renunciation should be demonstrated by transparent action to teach in mosques and Islamic schools against this intention, and against the elements of Sharia that contradict American freedoms.

Those that refuse to do this, or are found to be teaching these aspects of Sharia, should be immediately reclassified as political organizations, not religious ones, and made subject to all the accountability to which political groups are ordinarily held. Those that continue after this to teach political Islam should be closed and prosecuted.

6. End U.S. government cooperation with groups linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Thirteen years after 9/11, Muslim organizations with proven ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), exercise extraordinary influence in Washington (particularly the Holder Justice Department), as well as in the mainstream media.

A Spencer administration would have banned government officials from having any contact with organizations that the Justice Department had designated unindicted co-conspirators in cases involving jihad terror activity. Would the Roosevelt Justice Department in 1943 have held outreach programs with groups that had demonstrable ties to the Nazis?

Gov. Jindal Offers GOP Replacement for Obamacare

This is from Godfather Politics.

Cue the Obama Media and the DemocRats howling how bad this plan is in 4,3,2,1.

I would like to see Governor Bobby Jindal(R.-LA) in the running for the GOP nomination in 2016.

Republicans have promised a plan to replace Obamacare for the past several years, but no one has yet offered up a workable plan. Democrats have been hounding Republicans to put their money where their mouth is, rightly so.

Finally, one brave Republican, who may have aspirations on a 2016 run for the White House, has stepped up the plate with an alternative plan to replace Obamacare with.  Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is calling his replacement plan: The Freedom and Empowerment Plan: the Prescription for Conservative Consumer-Focused Health Reform.

In Jindal’s plan, pre-existing conditions would be covered and it would increase the options for healthcare plans for the American people.  He says that it would also lower the cost to consumers, something that Obamacare failed to do for most Americans.  His plan would also provide everyone the same standard deduction for health insurance irrespective of them obtaining their insurance plans through an employer or on their own, thus eliminating the inequalities that currently exist in the tax code.

Jindal’s plan would also provide a $100 billion fund over 10 years for states to use to help with lower income families.  An executive summary explains:

“States could use these funds to subsidize insurance coverage for low-income individuals who would not receive tax savings from a health insurance deduction, and individuals with pre-existing conditions.”

Prior to his announcement of his replacement for Obamacare, there has been talk about the possibility of Jindal running for president in 2016.  At a breakfast meeting where he revealed his Obamacare replacement plan, reporters asked Jindal about his 2016 plans and he responded:

“In terms of 2016, look, it’s no secret that I’ve said it’s something I’m thinking about. But right now, I’m focused on winning the war of ideas.”  He also said that Republicans should nominate a governor to run for president because they have more experience of running things that congressmen don’t have.  Offering up a plan to replace Obamacare could be just what he needs to jump him to becoming the GOP pack leader in the bid for the Oval Office.  Some are already saying that this shows that Jindal is a man of action and not just words.

If other Republicans pick up on Jindal’s Obamacare replacement plan, it just might help some of them win this year’s mid-term elections and win the Senate from the Democrats.

Joe Biden: We Won’t Allow Congress To Get In Our Way On Guns

This is from Political Outcast.

While the writer of this story paraphrased Slow Joe Biden.

I promise you this is what Biden and Obama think .

Obama thinks if he does not get his way he can sign an

Executive Action/Order and get what he wants.

According to Vice President Biden, “President Obama literally has a buttload of executive actions coming down the pike” on gun control, the phrasing of which stirs disturbing surrealist images in my mind.

Okay, I paraphrased him. His actual words were, “[T]he president is already lining up some additional executive actions he’s going to be taking later this week.” I still can’t tell, Biden–are you speaking literally or figuratively? You haven’t specified!

You know what? On second thought, I think a ”literal buttload of executive actions” would be less disturbing than “additional executive actions.”  This is of course doublespeak for “executive orders,” a term this administration has been cautious to avoid, despite running the government on these orders. Liberals don’t like executive orders—or at least they pretend not to—so this administration uses the term “executive action.”

Obama spent his first term trying to get Congress to pass the most unpopular legislation of modern times, socialized health insurance, in the form of Obamacare. That was at a time when healthcare was at the bottom of Americans’ list of priorities for our benevolent leaders to work on.

Obama won that battle as only a corrupt politician can: unfairly, with bribes.

The President has chosen the battle to waste his second term on, and that is gun control, yet another issue near the bottom of Americans’ list of priorities. Fortunately for them (us), it appears as though Obama has lost, with the Senate voting down the Manchin-Toomey background-check bill.

Obama was visibly angry the other day, pouting at the podium to publicly shame those who voted against the bill, which would have expanded background checks to personal and gun-show sales, but only for law-abiding citizens–those who don’t commit mass-shootings–and not to those who would commit mass-shootings since those people don’t submit to background checks.

“No matter,” says Biden, as paraphrased by me again. “We don’t like the way the vote turned out, so Obama’s going to ignore the vote, bypass the rules, and just write his own laws from the Oval Office. What do you think this is, a constitutional republic? You think it matters whether your representatives represent you or not? We in the executive branch make the rules, not your representatives.”

You have to wonder at some point if this administration really does believe that congressional voting procedures are a mere formality they must go through, the hoops through which they must jump in order to keep up the illusion that the will of the American people is represented. They are either knowingly being tyrannical, dictatorial, or else they do not understand that voting in Congress is not just for show. As in so many other areas of this administration, it comes down to those two possibilities: either Obama’s failures stem from a place of malice and ill will, or from a cavity in his brain that renders him incompetent and ignorant.

Whatever it is, neither possibility bodes well for us.

This is from Patriot Update.

“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Sir Winston Churchill

The on-going debate on gun control shows that history does repeat itself. Time passes, and memory dims. Events that once shook the world are now nothing more than forgotten horrors to be read in old history books. These books and the old bodies moldering in their graves seem to have no impact on today’s world, where new generations enjoy the fruits of their forgotten sacrifices. People today enjoy the benefits that were long ago paid for with spilled blood, while having to spill none of their own.

We are living in a time of a “gimme generation,” a generation that seems to want everything for nothing, and they want it now. They demand instant gratification for their every desire – after all, the world owes them a living, right? So in attempting to achieve their Utopia on Earth, they are willing to sacrifice a few basic rights in exchange for a temporary sense of safety, and fairness, while getting all their free stuff, without having to pay for it or make any sacrifices of their own.

Today’s politician simply has to tell the masses what they want to hear, with pretty words, while telling them something is for their own safety or the public good. But while people are enjoying their easy life and free stuff, they don’t remember that everything comes with a price, and there really isn’t any free stuff. The Government cannot give you anything that it does not first take away from someone else, but it can control your life through laws, regulations, and taxation.

The main topic of discussion these days is gun control. Liberal progressive politicians are trying hard to convince people to give up their guns in order to stop violence. You know the mantra: Guns are bad and hurt people, so give up your guns while we all sing Kumbaya. Without guns it will be a safer world for everyone. But there is a problem with this mantra: Do you really think criminals will give up their guns? Each gun law seems to just give birth to yet more gun laws. When the citizens’ guns are gone and only the government has guns, what then? We will be at the mercy and control of the prevailing regime of the time, with no means to resist. When this happens, the government is no longer the servant, but the master. It will then enact even more laws for “your protection” and the sheeple will have no choice but to fall in lock step and obey.

Consider the following historical facts:

1929 – the USSR established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1911 – Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1928 – Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill and others who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

1935 – China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1956 – Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to 1977 one million “educated” people, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

1964 – Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, one hundred thousand Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

1970 – Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979 three hundred thousand Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

The body count is not yet in on the number of Serbs who were unable to defend themselves and were exterminated, but the television images should still be fresh in your mind. Adding the victims of genocide in Barundi, Darfur, and Iraq brings the total number of victims who lost their lives because of gun control to approximately 100 million people in the last century. These are cold, hard facts.

Every time gun registration has been enacted “for the safety of citizens,” it has led to gun confiscation.
We should learn from the mistakes of the past: the next time someone speaks out in favor of gun control, ask which group of citizens they want to see exterminated.

Rights are lost in small, insidious increments that seem inconsequential at the time, but they are never regained. Compare the erosion of rights to the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was not formed in one fell swoop, but little by little, day by day, grain of sand by grain of sand until finally there was a gaping chasm. Rights that were paid for in blood are now being frittered away by a generation that has never had to sacrifices (with the exception of the few and the proud who voluntarily join the military). How many of these individuals has ever stood graveside to accept a folded flag “On behalf of a grateful nation”?

Even the leader of the greatest nation on earth has never spent a day in the armed service of his country. Yet the “gimme generation” saw nothing wrong with this and elected him to the highest office in the land-not once but twice. The Oval Office where Obama puts his feet on the desk is the same Oval Office where Woodrow Wilson guided the country during WWI, Franklin Roosevelt steadied the helm during the dark days of WWII, Harry Truman gave the orders to load the Enola Gay and Bock’s Car with Little Boy and Fat Man; and where Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon set the course that took us into and out of Viet Nam. It is the same office where President George Bush drew a line in the sand and put an end to the atrocities of Saddam Hussein. That Office and all those events were bought and paid for in American blood.

If you make a lie big enough and repeat it often enough, people will believe it and the myth becomes reality. Gun control is NOT for the ‘good of the people’; gun control is about one thing and one thing only: government control!

Wake up America!!!!

Nixon wished for total ban on handguns

This is from

I want to say something loud and clear,

Richard Milhous Nixon Was Never A conservative!

Nixon was as Liberal as the day is long.

WASHINGTON — Few presidents in modern times have been as interested in gun control as Richard Nixon, of all people. He proposed ridding the market of Saturday night specials, contemplated banning handguns altogether and refused to pander to gun owners by feigning interest in their weapons.

Several previously unreported Oval Office recordings and White House memos from the Nixon years show a conservative president who at times appeared willing to take on the National Rifle Association, a powerful gun lobby then as now, even as his aides worried about the political ramifications.

“I don’t know why any individual should have a right to have a revolver in his house,” Nixon said in a taped conversation with aides. “The kids usually kill themselves with it and so forth.” He asked why “can’t we go after handguns, period?”

Nixon went on: “I know the rifle association will be against it, the gun makers will be against it.” But “people should not have handguns.” He laced his comments with obscenities, as was typical.

Nixon made his remarks in the Oval Office on May 16, 1972, the day after a would-be assassin shot and paralyzed segregationist presidential candidate George Wallace. As president, Nixon never publicly called for a ban on all handguns. Instead, he urged Congress to pass more modest legislation banning Saturday night specials, which were cheaply made, easily concealed and often used by criminals.

Not all of the president’s men appeared to share his passion on the issue. The recordings and memos show that Nixon administration officials saw gun control as a political loser.

Nixon, a Republican, did say publicly that if Congress passed a ban on Saturday night specials, he would sign it. But in a sign of how potent the NRA was even 40 years ago, this narrow piece of legislation never made it to his desk, and there is no sign that he ever sent a draft bill to Capitol Hill.

Today, President Barack Obama faces similar hurdles in trying to ban assault weapons and large-capacity ammunition magazines. Gun control advocates say no one needs such powerful weapons to kill an intruder or take down an animal. In Nixon’s time, the argument of such advocates was that Saturday night specials were too poorly made to be relied on for self-defense or hunting.

“Let me ask you,” Nixon said to Attorney General John Mitchell in June 1971, “there is only one thing you are checking on, that’s the manufacture of those $20 guns? We should probably stop that.” Saturday night specials sold for $10 to $30 at the time. Mitchell responded that banning those guns would be “pretty difficult, actually,” because of the gun lobby.

“No hunters are going to use $20 guns,” Nixon countered.

“No, but the gun lobby’s against any incursion into the elimination of firearms,” Mitchell said.

The term Saturday night special originated in Detroit, where police observed the frequency with which the guns were used to commit weekend mayhem. Lynyrd Skynyrd memorialized the weapon in its 1975 song, “Saturday Night Special,” in which the Southern rock band sang: “Ain’t good for nothin’/But put a man 6 feet in a hole.”

Nixon’s private comments were not always supportive of gun control, particularly measures that would go beyond handguns. For example, in a taped conversation just a few days after saying that people shouldn’t have handguns, the president asked rhetorically, “What do they want to do, just disarm the populace? Disarm the good folks and leave the arms in the hands of criminals?”

But most of his comments on the tapes, available at the websites of the National Archives and of the University of Virginia’s Miller Center, were in favor of stronger gun control.

At a June 29, 1972, news conference, about six weeks after Wallace’s shooting, Nixon said he’d sign legislation banning Saturday night specials. Later that year, the Senate did pass such a bill, but the House never acted on the legislation.

The bill’s sponsor, Indiana Democrat Birch Bayh, said in a recent interview that the NRA helped prevent his bill from getting through Congress. The Nixon administration supported an unsuccessful Republican alternative Senate bill on Saturday night specials that had a definition the NRA preferred.

The shooting of another politician put gun control back on the radar the following year. On Jan. 30, 1973, two robbers shot Sen. John Stennis, D-Miss., and surgeons initially thought he would die. Stennis survived and lived until 1995.

The day of the shooting, Nixon told White House special counsel Charles Colson, “At least I hope that Saturday-night-special legislation, at least we’re supporting that, you know. We’re not for gun control generally, but we are for that.”

When Colson told him a bill hadn’t been passed, Nixon instructed his counsel, “We better damn well be for it now, huh?”

At a news conference the next day, the president repeated his call to ban Saturday night specials. He also volunteered a comment that few national politicians would make today: “Let me say, personally, I have never hunted in my life. I have no interest in guns and so forth.”

By March 1973, aide John Ehrlichman was telling Nixon that gun control was a “loser issue for us.”

Other White House officials also argued against doing much, including Tom Korologos, a White House deputy assistant for legislative affairs who later was an outside lobbyist for the NRA and ambassador to Belgium under President George W. Bush.

“The thing that worries me is that the president’s hard-core support comes from the gun-folk and obviously we need support these days,” Korologos wrote in an Aug. 31, 1973 memo, referring to the Watergate scandal that would undo Nixon’s presidency.

“Lurking in the background is the president’s personal statement: ‘I’m a liberal on gun control,’ ” Korologos said. Nixon might have made this statement privately; there is no record of him saying it publicly.

Why Republicans Are Poised To Lose The Second Amendment Battle

This is from Town Hall.

The Republicans may be too dumb to see they are losing.

But We The People will not roll over for the  progressives Communist.

We will fight to win and win we eventually will do.

You have to give progressives credit. They’re nothing if not thorough. When an opportunity to limit the Second Amendment presented itself in the Sandy Hook massacre, regardless how tasteless it was to exploit that opportunity, they went full bore toward their goal.

Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced sweeping so-called “assault weapons” ban legislation this week that would place unprecedented restrictions on individuals’ rights to own, use, sell and even pass along already owned firearms to family members. But given where things stand now in the polls and political atmosphere, that legislation will go nowhere.

But the Constitution and the will of the people matter little to a progressive with an opportunity.

If they were at all interested in the democracy they routinely claim to champion, they would accept the will of voters and engage in an effort to change minds and the Constitution to reflect their wishes. But much like a three-card Monte street hustler, they pursue the debate over this proposed legislation merely to draw our attention away from what they really seek to do.

While the media focused on Sen. Feinstein’s legislation and President Obama’s dog-and-pony show – complete with children for props and “executive initiatives” that amount to no more than a to-do list for himself –, the real progressive attack on the Second Amendment churns on beneath the radar.

Progressive politicians across the country are attempting to launch a stealth war against gun manufacturers, trying to harm them financially because they can’t legislatively.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has the city moving to divest its pension fund from weapons and ammunitions companies in an attempt to pressure them to agree to more controls on their businesses. But Nutter isn’t alone, a growing list of progressive politicians from across the country are using their workers’ pensions, their retirement savings, like chips in a game of high-stakes poker.

By pulling, or threatening to pull, hundreds of millions of dollars in investments from manufacturers, it threatens to take stock prices artificially low. They’re willing to play politics with the retirement of their workers in order to advance their agenda. But the full-frontal assault on their stock price isn’t the only stealth avenue they’re seeking.

Chicago’s Rahm Emanuel, mayor of the murder capital of the world, is taking a second line of attack by putting pressure on banks to stop their financial involvement with weapons manufactures until they capitulate to the progressive will.

Emanuel, the president’s former chief of staff, wouldn’t dare make such a move if he didn’t have the blessing of the White House.

Time will tell how well this will work, but the tactic of ignoring the will of the people to advance their agenda is nothing new to progressives. When they can’t get what they want through the electoral process, progressives have no qualms about circumventing the express will of their constituents through lawsuits, activist judges or flat-out harassment.

For years, liberals have sought to silence Rush Limbaugh, to remove him from the radio. They tried offering competing programming, but that proved as fruitful as Betamax every time it’s been tried. They’ve toyed with the idea of reinstating the ironically named “fairness doctrine” to force him off the air, but that idea went nowhere. So they’ve adopted the tactic of harassing companies that advertise on his show, trying to chase them away in the hopes of silencing him through threats and intimidation.

The only step missing from the progressive playbook is the court – almost always the last place they turn when the people flatly refuse to give them their way. Expect an attempt to subvert this soon.

Progressives are never content to win an argument, election or debate, nor would they even be capable if they were honest about their agenda. Instead they focus on the long war, small pieces and coordinated, seemingly disparate actions on different tracks and never stop until they reach their goal. Meanwhile, Republicans are busy contradicting one another, capitulating and/or fighting to be the Democratic Media Complex’s flavor of the week.

In coming weeks and months, we will see still more back-channel tactics, arm-twisting and varying degrees of blackmail and threats employed as more and more progressive groups with more and more liberal money behind them fall in line to do their part to attempt to chisel away at the Second Amendment.

All the while Republicans will go on TV, take abuse while making their case, find support for their principles in the polls…and lose.

President Reagan kept a plaque on the wall in the Oval Office that read, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he does not mind who gets the credit.” It’s a lesson Republicans have forgotten, and a lesson progressives have learned all too well.

Obama describes Romney as ‘a bulls***ter’ in Rolling Stone magazine interview

This is from the U.K.Daily Mail.

A typical Chicago street thug comment.

Barack Milhous Capone Kardashian is the king of BS.

I will celebrate when this classless thug gets fired.

Then Barack and his shaved Wookie Moochelle are bask in Chicago.

When asked whether he had a message for a six-year-old supporter, President Barack Obama took the opportunity to describe his opponent Mitt Romney as ‘a bulls***ter’.

The extraordinary comment – most mainstream media outlets decline to print such a word – came at the end of an interview with ‘Rolling Stone‘ when Obama was asked one of the softest softball questions ever lobbed at him.

As he left the Oval Office, Eric Bates, executive editor of ‘Rolling Stone’, told Obama that he had asked his six-year-old if there was anything she wanted him to say to the president and she had responded: ‘Tell him: You can do it.’
According to Bates, Obama grinned and said: ‘You know, kids have good instincts. They look at the other guy and say, “Well, that’s a bull***tter, I can tell.”‘

The interview was conducted on October 11th – eight days after he had been humiliated by Romney in the first presidential debate in Denver and faced strident criticism from the Left that he had not challenged questionable statements by his opponent.

Ten days after the ‘Rolling Stone’ interview, Obama was decidedly more high-minded at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial dinner in New York.

‘I particularly want to thank Governor Romney for joining me, because I admire him very much as a family man and a loving father, and those are two titles that will always matter more than any political ones,’ he said at the dinner.

‘So we may have different political perspectives, but I think — in fact, I’m certain — that we share the hope that the next four years will reflect the same decency and the same willingness to come together for a higher purpose that are on display this evening.’

The quotation was first reported by Politico’s Mike Allen in his Playbook column.

He managed to get his hands on a copy of the magazine’s forthcoming cover story, Douglas Brinkley’s ‘Obama and the Road Ahead’.

When he announced his candidacy in a video in February 2007, Obama called for ‘a different kind of politics’. In part, his historic 2008 presidential was built around a call for more civil, bipartisan brand of politics.

But in the closing stages of a desperately close 2012 campaign, Obama is portraying Romney as a liar who cannot be trusted.

The ‘bullsh**er’ comment is an extension of the ‘Romnesia’ jibe that has become a staple of Obama’s stump speech.

‘Romnesia’ is is the word the Obama campaign uses to describe Romney’s supposed tendency to forget his past stands on issues.

In Tampa on Thursday, Obama said Romney’s economic policies were the same that ones that under the Bush administration led to the great recession.

‘He’s hoping you won’t remember … He’s hoping you’re going to come down with a severe case of Romnesia just before you cast your ballot.’

Chuckling and listing the symptoms, he said: ‘You can’t remember what you just said last week, you start thinking Governor Romney wanted to save the auto industry, there’s a sudden fuzziness about what’s on your web site.’

He added, to cheers and laughter: ‘Don’t worry. This is a curable condition and Obamacare covers pre-existing conditions.’

Rick Santorum faced criticism when in March when he told a ‘New York Times’ reporter challenging him on a rope line: ‘This is bull***t’. Obama supporters reacted with outrage at his language.

One stated; ‘A good Christian would never speak like that.’ Another said: ‘I’m very disturbed about example Santorum’s language is setting for our children.’

Salty language, of course, is very common in politics – among Democrats and Republicans. It may be that Obama believed his comment was off the record. It is a common practice for journalists to keep taping at the end of an interview as the interviewee relaxes and makes small talk.

When Obama achieved passage through Congress of his signature healthcare reform in March 2010, Vice President Joe Biden was picked up by a microphone saying into the president’s ear: ‘This is a big f***ing deal.’

The Democratic Party seized on the loose-lipped utterance as a positive, producing ‘Health Reform is a BFD’ t-shirts.

It remains to be seem whether the Obama campaign will start making ‘Romney is a Bull***tter’ merchandise int he closing days of the election.

10 amazing facts on the White House’s 220th anniversary

This is from Yahoo News.

I knew some of the facts.

On October 13, 1792, the White House’s cornerstone was put in place in a quiet ceremony. Since then, the president’s house has survived an attack, a near condemning, a second fire, and an effort to build a rival White House!

So there’s also a lot you might not know about the really interesting history of America’s most famous residence.

Here’s a look at 10 factoids you can use to impress your friends and liven up any conversation aboutthe White House.

1. Another city built its own version of the White House. Yes, Philadelphia wasn’t happy that the new city of Washington was getting the president’s executive mansion. During the 1790s, the city built its own presidential palace as a way to tempt George Washington and others from leaving Philadelphia, which was the acting capital. Washington refused to use the “palace” and stayed elsewhere in Philadelphia. That location is two blocks south of the National Constitution Center.

2. George Washington never lived in the White House. Don’t look for Washington’s ghost on your next White House tour. The mansion was in the city named for Washington, and he had a big role in the executive residence’s creation. But George passed away in late 1799, about one year before John Adams became the first president to live in the building.

3. Very little of the original White House remains. Those pesky British burned the originalWhite House in 1814 after U.S. forces set fire to Canada’s parliament. The famous Gilbert Stuart painting of George Washington was saved by a fleeing Dolley Madison and some exterior stone walls survived the fire.

4. There was a second big fire at the White House. A blaze on Christmas Eve in 1929 gutted parts of the West Wing and Oval Office during the Herbert Hoover administration. Hoover left a Christmas party to personally direct the firefighting efforts, helped by Ulysses S. Grant III, a city official. Hoover also briefly entered the Oval Office during the fire, but he was whisked away by the Secret Service. The blaze was started by a blocked fireplace flue.

5. The suffragettes stayed at the White House for two years. The heated fight over the right of women to vote reached a fever pitch in 1917, as suffragettes picketed at the White House gates in an attempt to get President Woodrow Wilson’s attention. Led by Alice Paul, the picketers stayed in front of the White House for two years, with more than 200 arrests. The pressure helped in the successful effort to pass the 19th Amendment.

6. It was Teddy Roosevelt who created the West Wing. The West Wing was expanded under William Howard Taft and Franklin D Roosevelt, but it was Teddy who got the facility built. Thomas Jefferson had started the ball rolling with the idea 100 years earlier, but things take a long time to build in Washington. Teddy had some conservatories leveled and the “temporary” office building established, to be connected to the main White House using a colonnaded gallery. President Taft added the Oval Office to the West Wing.

7. The White House was nearly condemned in 1948. President Harry S. Truman was forced out of the White House as his living quarters to the Blair House after officials decided the aging White House was close to collapse. Apparently, the repair budget under the FDR administration was ignored, even as more White House staffers were added to payrolls. When Truman tried to upgrade the White House, engineers discovered it was structurally unsound and close to falling down. The project was completed in 1952.

8. There was a 1950 attack on the president’s house. While Truman was staying at the Blair House, two Puerto Rican nationalists attempted to storm the Blair House and kill Truman while he was napping inside the residence. After a 38-second gun battle, one assailant was dead, and a White House police officer was mortally wounded. They were apparently emboldened by the idea that the Blair House was less secure than the White House. The officer who died in the attack fatally shot the assailant as he stood 30 feet from the president’s bedroom window. Truman had moved to the window just before the assailant was killed.

9. You can buy your own White House, for just $4 million. That may sound like a lot of money, but it’s a steal when the real White House is worth about $110 million (or as much as $286 million by another estimate). The replica White House is in McLean, Virginia, and it has just 14,000 square feet of space, compared with 55,000 for the real White House. It does have a full-sized Oval Office and replica Lincoln bedroom. The original owners used plans from White House I to build the facility from scratch. You will need to bring your own helicopter and pets.

10. The White House is missing its cornerstone. Any anniversary of the White House wouldn’t be complete without the story of its missing cornerstone. On that fateful day in October 1792, a group of freemasons met at a Georgetown tavern and paraded to the proposed site of the president’s mansion. In a ceremony, they placed an inscribed cornerstone to mark the start of the House’s construction. They then marched to an inn and made a toast to the event. And another, and another. In  fact, they made 16 toasts! So no one really documented where the stone was.  President Truman tried to find the stone during the renovation period, but no one has seen it since 1792. One theory is that is imbedded between two stone walls near the Rose Garden.

Doesn’t Matter For Whom You Vote? Think Again!

This is from Patriot Update.

Elections have consequences and we are paying them.

An unqualified nincompoop has been elected president.

A man who has alienated our allies and bowed to our enemies.

We need to reclaim America from this leftist crowd.

We need to take the governments boot off the throat of industries.

If you vote for anyone but Romney your assuring Obama’s reelection.

It is sad but more than occasionally I will learn of individuals who have become so jaded by the whole political realm that they decide not to vote since politicians are “all the same” and “it won’t matter who is in the White House.” While we have all been discouraged by the greed, avarice, ineptitude and slime that Washington exudes, to so callously disregard the right to vote is despicable and shameful. I will forgo the fully justified guilt-tripping about the men and women who have bled and died to protect our democracy and simply stick to incontrovertible facts about the current leader of the Free World that starry-eyed lemmings put into office. If one thinks that the person filling the Presidential suit is of no consequence, how is it that obama, unlike his predecessors, associates with Communists and criminals and has accomplished hundreds of deeds counter to the Constitution and the beliefs of a majority of Americans? Consider the following:

  • Czars:   In a move that stinks of the USSR, one of obama’s first actions was to appoint more than 30 individuals to control various aspects of American society. While no such appointments were ever allowed in the Constitution or Founding Documents, obama steamrolled the other branches of government and established his puppets in power.
  • Non-Recess Appointments:   Contrary to law and established Congressional procedures, obama appointed union crony Richard Cordray and other union thug attorneys to the NLRB with no Congressional approval, though they were in session.

  •  Auto Union Bailout:    As a payoff/bribe to unions, obama guided the auto union bailout of GM and Chrysler. While proof has recently arisen to show non-union employees were left out in the cold, taxpayer money was used to prop up auto unions, even going so far as to ignore other creditors and give those unions a controlling share in the floundering makers. Enjoy your taxpayer-subsidized steaming pile of Volt, everybody!
  • Obamacare:   A partisan social program that a majority of citizens do not want yet, through illegal bribes, lies and arm-twisting, socialized medicine was passed. The true costs of the program, if not reversed, will cripple our country and destroy the best medical system in the world.
  • Oil Drilling:   Ignoring a federal judge ruling that stated the policy was illegal, the obama regime shut down oil drilling in the Gulf and drove the oil platforms to other parts of the world. Under the guise of environmental protection, oil exploration by American companies was crippled. If guarding the planet was the intent however, why did the government under obama’s direction then loan billions to Brazil, Mexico and other nations to drill in the EXACT SAME waters? [Answer: It is another way to hamstring “evil” America and spread our wealth to less-productive nations.] This is in addition to the illegal extortion of $20B from BP Oil following the oil spill disaster.
  • Through obama’s directives, the EPA has illegally set arbitrary carbon emission standards that will further cripple American industry.
  • Political offices and appointments being awarded to financial backers of obama is in such an uncharted realm it should boggle one’s mind.
  • If the man sitting in the Oval Office does not matter, how has obama managed to increase the national debt in just three years by over 50%?
  •  obama phones, anybody? obama unilaterally wiped away the work requirements section of the Welfare Reform laws devised under President Clinton, allowing individuals to not even have to pretend to work to steal taxpayer money.
  • obama, in direct opposition to his Oath of Office, acted for a time as UN Security Council Chair.
  • Our current President, who some feel is just the same as all the others, has used his influence to support the Occupy Wall Street crowd in their un-American activities. Far worse, he ignored the Green Party (not  the nutbag environmental wackjobs but the Democracy movement in Iran) as they were rounded up but has continually supported the Muslim Brotherhood uprisings throughout the Middle East, even sending in U.S. troops to help overthrow one dictator so another (far more vile and insane) ruler with obama’s approval could take control.
  •  A few months ago, to add more Democrat voters to the rolls/useless individuals to the welfare system, obama simply decided to enact much of the DREAM Act amnesty for illegal aliens. Although Congress had rejected the freebie to these criminals three times, obama simply moved to enact the measures.
  • This is a man who is on record as fighting to have babies who survived abortions die.
  • He is also the individual who attacked the Church and forced them to provide contraception against their will.
  • obama and his people are currently fighting to disenfranchise our voting service men and women while he also roadblocks simple laws to fight voter fraud (thus allowing the old Democrat voter fraud tricks to continue. JFK beats Nixon anybody?)
  • obama is currently attempting to circumvent the Second Amendment by negotiating a an agreement to have the U.S. abide by the UN’s Small Arms Treaty.
  •  While all other Presidents had the facts of their formative years in the public record, obama has hidden his entire history, regardless of the questions and anomalies. This is a President with no public record of his beliefs, stances or grades. An explanation of how he attended an all-Muslim school in Indonesia and the most expensive schools in America, and why his Social Security number should belong to a man born in Connecticut in the late 1800s has ever been given.
  •  obama has soured relations with some of our historically close allies. The list is too lengthy to attempt but a sample here. Remember the return of the Churchill bust? Or the time when obama gave British Trident missile codes to Russia. As for Israel, the President’s obvious loathing for the Jewish people has been made evident continually. Throw in Poland, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and a host of others.
  • Our current “President” redirected NASA’s aim from space exploration to Muslim outreach….really.
  • obama has made a shambles of the U.S. war effort. More men in uniform have died in his three-plus years in office than in Bush’s eight. His appeasement, lies and ineptitude have reduced our safety in the world, lessened our influence (thus giving rise to the expanding evils in Russia, the Middle East, China and elsewhere), and led to the deaths of our people around the world. Look at the lies and cover-up as Islamic flags were raised over our embassies and our diplomat’s dead body was paraded in the street.
  • Solyndra and other wasteful fantasies resulted in hard earned money being stolen from the American people and presented to companies owned (and poorly run) by obama supporters and donors. This is while obama has single-handedly shut down job-making opportunities that would make the country more energy independent like the Keystone Pipeline and almost the entire coal industry.
  • obama decided on his own that his Justice Department will no longer enforce the Defense of Marriage Act.
  • If one is judged by the company he keeps, obama is certainly the most corrupt individual since Woodrow Wilson to hold the highest office:
    • Eric Holder: Attorney General and controlling interest in the Fast & Furious scandal. Holder may as well have killed our border agent himself and obama invoked Executive Privilege to protect him. obama also instructed Holder to ignore immigration laws and not pursue illegal aliens in this country. Additionally, obama had Holder allow illegal voter suppression by the New Black Panther Party.
    • The obama Administration reportedly has over three dozen tax cheats in the White House, most notably Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury!
    • Tony Rezko: Slumload fundraiser and friend to obama who is now serving time for corruption. He is also the guy that sold obama the land for his house in a shady Chicago real estate deal.
    • Bill Ayers: Unrepentant terrorist and obama friend and supporter (and potentially the ghost author of obama’s early books and, according to sources, the son of the man who paid to put obama through school).
    • Dozens of obama fundraisers and bundlers are currently being investigated or serving time for corruption.
    • “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright:   20+ years obama’s mentor, Wright is the preacher of the abominations of social justice, collective salvation and black liberation theology. Also, “God D*mn America” N’uff said.
    •  The list goes on and on. Contemptible individuals like Valerie Jarrett, Van Jones, David Axelrod, Robert Gibbs, Rahm Emanuel, Rod Blagojevich and others show that obama allowed the sewer-dwellers of society into the hallowed corridors of the White House.

Still think that the individual in the Oval Office is inconsequential? This is not a Democrat Vs Republican thing. I can debate Bush against Clinton any day. Bush spent too much on “compassionate” and forgot Conservative but he kept us safe. Clinton was a traditional misguided liberal who, after the midterm elections, co-opted the Republican economic ideas and was then termed a success. Good and bad in all. The problem is we now have a person in office that is systematically working to remake America into a shadow of her former self. If the press actually reported the news instead supporting their candidate, if people realized that Jon Stewart is an ignorant comedian, if people would learn that the government is not there to provide equal outcomes, we might actually reclaim this nation. Until then, unenlightened people will support the “straight ticket”, skip voting altogether, vote for some fringe nutty candidate and thus throw away their vote or, worst of all, vote to reelect the most frightening and anti-American man to ever hold the office. Still think your vote does not count?

As the sixth-great grandson of American patriot and Revolutionary War hero Christopher Gadsden, I feel it is my duty to speak fondly of America’s greatness and stand ready to defend her against all adversaries. Sadly, I must rail against the vileness and evil of the leftists, progressives, Marxist, socialists and idiots in general now threatening to destroy our great nation. If you support this aim, please spread the word.
