Has Rand Paul lost his mind?

He just shot any chance of being elected president in 2016

He has just alienated  most of his voters base.

 

 

Ron Paul‘s vibrant fan base is in open rebellion today over Rand Paul’s reversal on domestic drone strikes. The Kentucky senator, whose famous 13-hour Senate floor filibuster did much to strengthen his ties with his father’s hardcore following, told Fox Business Network on Tuesday he’s OK with drone strikes on American citizens who, for instance, rob a liquor store.

“I’ve never argued against any technology being used when you have an imminent threat, an active crime going on,” Paul said. “If someone comes out of a liquor store with a weapon and fifty dollars in cash. I don’t care if a drone kills him or a policeman kills him.”

While it’s true that Paul has always made an exception for “imminent threats” — a 9/11-like moment — the liquor store scenario struck many libertarians as a very low threshold for domestic drone strikes, especially considering Paul’s Senate floor remarks, which if you recall, took a more anti-drone stance. Here’s Paul on the Senate floor:

I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.

Now, a phalanx of Ron Paul and libertarian forums are revolting at the senator’s perceived reversal.

“I am stunned by Rand’s statement,” reads a blog post on the Daily Paul, one of the largest Ron Paul fan sites. “Unmanned killers in our skys O.K.??? Really? Get away from the Neocons and war mongers Rand, their arrogant and self-righteous air is rotting your brain.”

“How cute. The Politician emerges,” wrote Paladin69, a user on RonPaulForums.com.

“I disagree with shooting first and asking questions later,” added forum administrator Josh Lowry.

“The hell with arresting him I guess,” wrote user The Gold Standard sarcastically. “Just fire a missile at him and move on to the next mundane.”

Reddit‘s brand of libertarian politics also repelled Paul’s hypothetical. “A missile into the storefront seems like dramatically excessive force,” wrote Reddit user Ohyeahthatsright. “Rand then seems to be supporting the militarization of police in their use of ‘tools’. I thought he was against the ‘police state.'”

Other libertarian-leaning commentators, such as the American Conservative’s Jordan Bloom, gavePaul more credit. “Paul wasn’t as clear as he should have been,” he writes. “It seems like he’s trying to describe a firefight-type situation in which the cops are forced to neutralize a thief robbing a liquor store, but the way he actually describes it sounds far more innocuous.”

Today’s flap is not the first he’s had with his father’s powerful online fan base, and it surely won’t be the last. But by all accounts, his principled filibuster greatly rejuvenated his credibility with libertarians following his heretical endorsement of Mitt Romney during the presidential election. With today’s remarks, he appears to have chipped away at that newly gained goodwill.

A Warning to All Gun Bloggers and Forums – Boston Marathon Explosions

Dear Friends,

Please be aware that there are what we call “Bloomberg shills” lurking in the comments of gun blogs and forums at present. It has been going on since before the election, and we first noticed it as far back as our January 8th, 2012 article “2nd Amendment Voters Should Vote Ron Paul.”

At first it seemed like fun because they got a lively discussion going, and many of our articles have over 400 comments just because of a few anti-gun comments peppered in by a shill here and there. But as more and more of them have come in, we have begun to realize that it is better to delete them.

The anti-gunners have a plan, and that plan is to make gun people look stupid, heartless, and separate from the values of mainstream America. A recent “whistleblower” post about the Boston Marathon explosions is especially troubling.

If you are part of a gun blog or forum, please don’t allow this post to spread, and beware that more attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders look bad are coming.

As most of us have come to understand, this crisis has gone far beyond politics. We have seen an unprecedented and sustained attack on not just our guns, but the entire pro-2nd Amendment and avid shooter culture itself.

We are being sold to the public as stupid and selfish people who don’t care about the safety of children. I got a forwarded Facebook post from an 86 year old family friend and staunch Libertarian yesterday that said “The NRA Doesn’t Represent Me.” If only he knew what a fool he is being played for, but if you read through the lines, it is pretty clear that Bloomberg’s media campaign is working. The medicated masses are buying the story, because it is being presented in social media environment where people have already let their guards down.

For that reason, we have ceased to allow any anti-gun comments on our articles. This was a difficult decision, but we only did so after calling out several of the commenters and directly accusing them of being hired Bloomberg shills.

None of them defended themselves, and we believe that this is exactly what they are. The anti-gunners aren’t just buying TV ads. They are hiring what are probably unemployed young people in New York City to fish around in pro-2nd Amendment social media to plant seeds of division, trying to hook the emotions of the vulnerable and anti-depressant medicated.

A common theme among the shills is to make us look stupid and ruthless in the furtherment of our cause. We think that they threw some bait into the water yesterday that could make gun people look very bad.

It is a “whistleblower” post about the explosions at the Boston Marathon, warning that it is some kind of false flag to ban the private sale of gun powder.

I believe this “warning” is meant to be re-posted on gun blogs and boards, and on a quick Google search, I see that it has already hit the FAL Files and a few survival boards. We am not going to include the post in this email because there is no benefit in spreading it, but it begins “I work on a security commission and I’ve just received word to start on a campaign we’ve been working on for the last two months and now it all makes sense.”

The “warning” then goes on to say that that explosions were a pre-planned event meant to result in the banning of the private sale of gun powder, and that a young person is to be arrested Friday with NRA magazines in his possession.

The creators of this farce are hoping Alex Jones and all of the conspiracy websites pick it up, and some of them already have. We believe that this is a Bloomberg shill to make us look stupid, and ruthless, that we would co-opt a tragedy to further our cause. Obama’s people have indeed already tried to tie the explosions to “Tax Day” in the hopes of making right wingers look like terrorists, but as we have explained before, Alex Jones is a turd in the punchbowl of 2nd Amendment freedom.

You don’t have to have any “theory” about the conspiracy to take away our 2nd Amendment rights. American “gun control” was born in the aftermath of slavery, to keep guns out of the hands of freed slaves.

Today it continues. The anti-gunners are using the deaths of 20 white kids to keep the guns out of the hands of their racial minority voting “slaves” in the inner cities.

It could very well be that consumer black powder, not smokeless powder, was used to make those bombs. Upon seeing the billowing white clouds of smoke from the explosions, anyone who has ever shot black powder should probably have suspected that this was the explosive used.

Bomb detecting equipment, and most likely the dogs as well, are not trained to detect black powder. I know this because I freaked out one day when I had to go through a airport sniffer after shooting BP. I hadn’t even washed my hands and realized it only when I was far too deep into the line.

But the sniffer didn’t even hiccup. We have all heard the reports that the police were doing bomb dog drills before the explosions, and it could very well be that one dog thought he smelled something early in the day so they brought in more dogs, who unfortunately weren’t trained to sniff BP.

Somebody grabbed the obvious possibility that black powder was involved and turned it into this fake “whistleblower” post about the more generic term “gun powder.” Apparently U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committeesaid “most likely gun powder” was used in the devices. The “Lone Wolf” language of that article does make it sound like they will pin this on a “right wing terrorist,” but what makes this “whistleblower” warning so suspect as a shill is that they do not specify black powder.

As many of you know, modern smokeless powder, the kind you find in normal ammunition, does not explode when ignited. It burns, and it is of course also fairly “smokeless.” Billowing clouds of white smoke like the ones we saw in Boston only come from black powder, and it is a lot easier to get than C4, and you don’t have to make it like the concoctions they speak about in the bomb making books.

Granted, McCaul did specifically say “gun powder,” but it is just too convenient that this post showed up yesterday, at the same time the talking point was implanted into the discussion. The post is almost definitely fake, and planted by people trying to make us look bad.

It is your choice how you treat and respond to anti-gun comments in a pro-2nd Amendment environment here on the internet. Please just be aware that these Bloomberg shills are lurking in your comments and on your boards, and that this is most likely only one of what will be many attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders appear to have different ideals than mainstream America.

We are mainstream America, and after the Heller and McDonald Supreme Court decisions, we were on our way to giving the opportunities of “mainstream” to all Americans. Arm the permanent victims in our inner cities and we will give them back not just 2nd Amendment freedom, but all of the other freedoms they are robbed of by living under the umbrella of a permanent criminal narco-economy.

The Wild West didn’t have the violent crime rates of Chicago and Washington DC, because in the Wild West, the good guys could shoot back.

Ron Paul: Attacking Tea Party Is Not A Good Plan For GOP

I guess Ron Paul is smarter than I thought.

We need to toss Boehner and company out on their heads.

We need to put adults back in charge in the Senate.

Boehner has moved to attack at least four “Tea PartyCongressmen and marginalize them by kicking them off committees. An unnamed sourceclaimed that the Congressmen deserved it:

“a GOP leadership aide told NBC News that the four members — Michigan’s Justin Amash, Tim Huelskamp of Kansas, Walter Jones  of North Carolina and Arizona’s David Schweikert — were ‘clearly not team players.’”

Right. Because Team GOP has been such a wonderful gift to loyal Republicans, obviously anyone who won’t “play ball” with them must be given bench time. Unless, of course, the entire starting group are a bunch of losers and we need a replacement team. Perhaps Amash, Huelskamp, Jones, and Schweikert are hoping that voters will select others like them and kick Boehner and his ilk off the team.

Ron Paul has recently stated the obvious. He said,

“They’re going to punish freshmen legislators? If you’re looking for dissension, then you’re going to get it… These congressmen will never cave. They’re going to get the support of the people … They will become heroes.”

How can anyone argue with this?

But I think the most telling remark Paul made was his characterization of why some people get persecuted by their fellow Republican Congressmen: “You get punched for having sincere beliefs.”

What I don’t understand is how Boehner and his fellows cannot understand that they are burning down their own house. Whether candidates are sincere or lying, the voters want to believe they are choosing a candidate who has principles other than simply staying in office for personal gain. To publicly advertise that anyone who believes in a balance budget and an unencumbered economy is simply going to be excluded from “the club” is to invite being kicked out of office. Boehner has got to realize that he can’t just pretend to care about the looming debt crisis and continue to not do anything about it.

As it stands now, Boehner has pretty much publicly demonstrated who in Congress belongs to the future of the Republican Party, assuming the GOP has any future at all.

As far as I can guess, Boehner hopes to see Democrats keep the White House and plans that Republicans will be forced to vote for, and lose with, the kind of candidates we have had to put up with for the last two election cycles. His value to the ruling class will be in diverting Conservative energy into supporting non-Conservative Republican candidates.

But I don’t think Boehner is going to get his way. The more desperate the American economy gets, the more Boehner will have to openly work to put down Conservatives in Congress. And the more Boehner’s evil work becomes visible to all, the more he is going to enrage conservative voters.

My hope and prayer is that 2014 give us a new GOP in Congress.

Dear Ron Paul/ Gary Johnson Voter Guy: I Told You So

How about giving up your American citizenship and moving to Cuba.

 

A few weeks before the election this columnist made an impassioned plea to those who would seek to support Gary Johnson or Ron Paul based upon principles. I tried to warn you of what was to come and, instead of open minds, I found insults and repudiation from people who claim to be the most open minded in politics.

It brings me no joy to be the one to have to say this but: all of you have cut your own throats and I told you so. We had one chance to put the brakes on this huge socialist nanny state that is flying at us like a runaway truck. Instead you chose to follow so misguided a principle and protest what you felt was a slap in the face from the Republican Party. Since you seem to not understand what has happened yet, I thought I would explain it to you. As in most things, now that it is too late you will probably hear me out.

When you chose to either not show up or vote for Gary Johnson you doomed your movement to failure and this is not a speculation, rather an indisputable fact. When I spoke on this topic just weeks before the election I mentioned several things that were going to destroy your movement and they have now all been set into motion.

The biggest points that must be addressed are the Supreme Court appointments, Obamacare and demography. These three points that you ignored in your decision this November actually turned out to be the noose around the libertarian movement.

There are several justices over the age of seventy, four to be exact. Although they will most likely not all retire during President Obama’s stay in Washington, more than likely two or more will. This means that the Supreme Court will go liberal for the next two decades or so. Now the justices who retire will likely be liberals, however liberals of the last two decades are nothing like the radicals that will be placed on the bench by the most radical Marxists president we have ever seen. In short, any hope of the right using the courts for anything is over. By allowing Obama to win reelection you have ended any hope of abortion bans, state’s rights, gay marriage bans and second amendment protection; good luck fighting Washington without the high court.

Obamacare is no longer a nightmare. Thanks to you it is now a reality that all of us will live with, pay for and suffer under. Your goals were to reign in government and cut down on governmental intrusion. These are worthy goals and I commend you for them but, by allowing your pride to insert itself in your voting, you have destroyed any possibility of this.

There has never been a governmental entitlement program that has been done away with once it goes into effect. Once you give this leaching segment of America their goodies, you can never stop. Your movement will never put a person in any office if they talk about getting rid of people’s “free healthcare.” You are quickly going to become known as a fringe group of crazies who have no serious solutions. This is sad considering, just a few short months ago, you were gaining ground and people were listening to your message. In another four years yours will not even be a rational line of thinking.

Finally there is demography. There is a famous quote that has often been attributed to many people so I am not overly sure who to credit it to. However, this makes it no less true. The quote is, “Demography is destiny.” I think we have seen this more in the last election than any other time in American history.

I hear Republicans all over the country talking about how we must court the Latino vote by relaxing our stance on illegal immigration. They seem to think that we are going to have a choice. Barack Obama is going to open the flood gates and we are going to see a demographics change in this country on a Biblical level.

Do you think all of these new Americans are going to vote for your guy while you take away their government goodies? I, for one, will never be okay with people invading our sovereignty and making a mockery of our laws. I don’t care if it would actually get us votes, which is a fantasy by the way. You have allowed a man into office that is going to continue to fill the United States with immigrants for no other reason than to ensure his party’s dominance into the century.

Basically I know this is harsh and I regret that it has to be. I just felt like this needed to be said. The Republican Party is on the ropes and I refuse to follow the party line and try to become the new softer Republicans. I guess this makes me one of the last conservative gunslingers. I am okay with that. Much like those brave men at the Alamo, I would rather die for my principles and never win another election than to live without them just for the sake of winning elections.

So, that being said, I am sorry for all of you that came so close to such massive reforms and a successful movement. Maybe in a hundred years or so people will look at the progress you made and avoid the missteps you have taken. Until then we are all in for a ride through a socialist hellhole for the foreseeable future. It’s not all your fault but I do want to acknowledge the blame that you and those like you shoulder in what could have been the biggest mistake in American history.

I voted early as I was supposed to have knee surgery once more.

But do to a Urinary Tract Infection it was postponed.

You can not just set this one out your future depends on your vote.

America‘s future,your children’s and grand children’s depend on your vote.

Not voting or voting for Ron Paul of Gary Johnson is a vote for Barack Obama.

Mitt Romney was not my first,second,third or even fourth choice.

However Mitt Romney is the GOP nominee for president in 2012.

We have a choice between America or Ameritopia.

A Personal Rant on the 2012 Election

I have been reading where people here on Facebook are saying they are voting for the

Anti Semite Loon Ron Paul,or Gary Johnson.
Then they say the will sleep better knowing they will sleep better knowing they voted someone they believed in.
Will you sleep better knowing that vote will reelect Barack Milhous Capone Stalin?
Will you sleep better knowing you destroyed America‘s future?Or the future of your children or grandchildren.

You would not pick up a gun and shoot your children or grandchildren.
But you might as well,As you have doomed them to a live of Socialist slavery.
You need to get past what ever stupid ideas you have about making a morally superior vote not voting for Mitt Romney.
I will vote for Mitt on November 6,2012.Mitt was not my first choice,or my second,or third or even my fourth.
But Mitt is the nominee so get these wacked out ideas out of your head about voting for Ron Paul or Gary Johnson.
Voting for them means voting for Obama and destroying America’s future.

And the future of your children and grandchildren.
I do not want to explain to my children and grandchildren why America is no longer a free nation.

Ronald Reagan sumed it up best with this quote,

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.

We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream.
It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”We could be that generation that loses freedom.
Please do not throw it away with a vote for Ron Paul or Gary Johnson or some other fringe loony toon candidate.
