SANDY HOOK REPORT: ADAM LANZA BROKE LAWS TO ACQUIRE GUNS, BROKE MORE LAWS USING THEM

This is from Breitbarts Big Government.

Which laws on the book now or proposed laws would

stopped Adam Lanza from getting a gun and using it?

A report released Monday by Connecticut’s Attorney for the District of Danbury says all the guns and ammunition involved in the heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary were legally purchased by Nancy Lanza and then stolen by her son, Adam.

The report lists “a number of crimes” Lanza committed with the stolen guns—including the crime of “Murder Under Special Circumstances,” which was committed twenty-six times—and the report says Adam Lanza “was solely criminally responsible” for all these crimes.

According to State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III, the firearms found inside the school after the crime were a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, a Glock 20 in 10 mm, and a Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm. The Sig Sauer was never fired, and the Glock was the weapon Lanza used to take his own life after shooting innocents.

An Izmash Saiga-12, a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, was found in Lanza’s car outside the school, and a Savage Mark II .22 rifle was found at Lanza’s residence.

Lanza used the .22 rifle to shoot and kill his mother as she slept.

All of the guns were lawfully purchased by Lanza’s mother, as was all the ammunition. Lanza then bypassed all gun control by stealing the firearms before using them to carry out his heinous crimes.

Because the guns were stolen, Senator Joe Manchin‘s (D-WV) failed gun control bill would have done nothing to prevent the crime at Sandy Hook Elementary.

What Gabby Gifford’s husband doesn’t want you to know

This is from BizPac Review.

It seems the current background check system was good

enough to Comrade Kelly’s  attempt at fraud.

Doesn’t this mean Mark Kelly is guilty of violating the law?

Mark-Kelly-and-Gabby-Giffords

When one of the country’s most strident voices for gun control hops onto the bandwagon for one final effort, there are a number of things he would rather his audiences not know about him.

Mark Kelly, husband of shooting victim and former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, will leave July 1 for a week-long “Rights and Responsibilities Tour,” visiting primarily states with Democratic senators who voted against April’s failed Manchin-Toomey gun bill, according to Breitbart News.

Although that attempt failed, Vice President Joe Biden said as late as June 18 that he and President Obama “haven’t given up” on gun control. Earlier in June, Biden met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to discuss renewing the effort, according to Politico. This possibly gave a glimmer of hope to the Giffords-Kelly team and provided an impetus for the gun control tour.

With all this in mind, Breitbart’s AWR Hawkins realized there are three things in Mark Kelly’s life he would rather be kept quiet:

1. The background check system prevented his purchase of a handgun in February.

2. The current background check system prevented his purchase of an AR-15 in March

3. He keeps a “high capacity” magazine in a Glock 9mm.

Kelly failed a background check to purchase a handgun in February because Arizona state law requires that a handgun buyer be a legal Arizona resident. Kelly attempted to buy a .45-caliber handgun at a Tucson, Ariz., gun store using a Texas identification. Although he’s an Arizona resident, he couldn’t prove it at the time.

The following month, he went to the same dealer — Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson — to purchase an AR-15. This time it was form 4473, the Federal Firearms Transfer Record, that tripped him up.

Question 11(a) asks, “Are you the actual transferee/buyer of the firearm(s) listed on this form?” The question is followed by this warning: “You are not the actual buyer if you are acquiring the firearm(s) on behalf of another person. If you are not the actual buyer, the dealer cannot transfer the firearm(s) to you.”

Douglas MacKinlay, the storeowner, had a strong feeling Kelly wasn’t buying the weapon for himself. Breitbart quoted MacKinlay as saying:

While I support and respect Mark Kelly’s 2nd Amendment right to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible way, his recent statements to the media make it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer 5.56 mm rifle was for reasons other than his own personal use.

Although both Kelly and Giffords strongly promote limiting magazine capacities to a 10-round maximum, he owns a Glock 9-mm with a 17-round magazine.

If nothing else, Kelly proved that the current background check system works. Although it won’t work every time, I sincerely doubt there’s anything Congress can come up with that will.

As for Kelly’s possession of a 17-round magazine, I’ll let him and his conscience work that one out.

Remington Sells Out To NY For $80 Million “Sniper” Rifles Government Contract

This is from Freedom Outpost.

It seems Remington has sold its soul for thirty pieces of silver.

It is time to boycott Remington Arms and ammunition.

I will not be buying from Remington.

ack in February, several gun manufacturers decided to boycott law enforcement in states that are hostile to the Second Amendment, states like New York for instance. They would not be providing weapons or ammunition. Within a week that number had grown by over 700%. In thefirst article I provided information for several gun manufacturers that could be contacted to come on board with this boycott, including Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson and Remington. Well, now we know where Remington stands. They stand on the side of government as they have let it be known that they will be staying in New York and they have now acquired a government contract worth $80 million.

Remington informed New York state lawmakers that they were planning to spend $20 million to upgrade their manufacturing facility in Mohawk Valley. The word was that they were considering moving if New York implemented stricter gun control laws as they have in the NY SAFE Act. Remington had been approached by several states to move.

Lawmakers spoke with Remington about their expansion. The company has received $5.5 million in state incentives over the past five years.

While that is in the past, news has come out from New York Congressman Richard Hanna regarding an $80 million contract. According to his website:

UTICA, N.Y. – U.S. Representative Richard Hanna today announced that Remington Arms has been awarded a nearly $80 million contract to produce more than 5,000 sniper rifles for the U.S. military. The work will be done in Ilion by Mohawk Valley employees.

The federal contract comes from the Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), a division of the U.S. Department of Defense. The contract will be awarded over the course of 10 years.

“The award of this contract to Remington Defense further shows that they are the premier manufacturer of sniper rifles for our Armed Forces,” Rep. Hanna said. “I have full confidence that this contract will be fulfilled with the high quality and standards that define our Ilion workforce. I fully support Remington Arms and will continue working to ensure that the company and its dedicated employees can thrive in Herkimer County for generations to come.”

Sniper rifles for the military, eh? At $80 million, that comes out to $16,000 per rifle over the next ten years. This comes on the heels of Serbu firearms saying they would not be providing their .50 caliber sniper rifles to the New York Police Department.

While these rifles are being manufactured for the U.S. military, one does wonder if this would also keep channels open to provide firearms to New York Police as well.

The irony in all of this is that New York, which has a clearly anti-gun government, will profit tens of millions of dollars from the production of guns through employee’s taxes, sales tax and more.

While I own at least one Remington firearm, I will not be purchasing further products by Remington, including ammunition.

Freedom Group owns Remington, along with several other gun manufacturers, including Marlin, DPMS, Para, and Bushmaster.

Gun store rescinds Mark Kelly’s rifle purchase, questions his ‘intent’

This is from Fox News Politics.

Oh what a tangled web we weave,When first we practice to deceive.

I am glad to see Mark Kelly‘s propaganda stunt fail.

It shows the hypocrisy of the in their own minds the elite.

They thing they are better, smarter and wiser than the masses.

A Tucson gun store owner has decided to rescind the sale of a military-style rifle to Mark Kelly, the husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, after Kelly said he had intended the purchase to make a political point about how easy it is to obtain the kind of firearms he’s lobbying Congress to ban.

Kelly’s March 5 purchase of an AR-15-style rifle and a 45.-caliber handgun at Diamondback Police Supply sparked a frenzy of reaction from both sides of the debate after he posted to Facebook a photo of himself shopping.

A background check took only a matter of minutes to complete, Kelly said in the Facebook post, adding that it’s scary to think people can buy similar guns without background checks at gun shows or on the Internet.

But Kelly couldn’t immediately take possession of the rifle because the shop had bought it from a customer. As a result, the store is required by a Tucson ordinance to hold the gun for 20 days to give the city enough time to make sure the weapon wasn’t used in a crime.

Store owner Doug MacKinlay said Monday in a Facebook post of his own that he “determined that was in my company’s best interest to terminate this transaction prior to his returning to my store.”

“While I support and respect Mark Kelly’s 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible manner, his recent statements to the media made it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer M400 5.56mm rifle from us was for reasons other then for his personal use,” MacKinlay said in the statement.

He added that the store will return Kelly’s money, donate the rifle to the Arizona Tactical Officers Association to be raffled as a fundraiser and make an additional contribution of $1,295 — the value of the rifle — to the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program.

Kelly’s purchase of the guns sparked accusations of hypocrisy from gun-rights supporters, with many on Facebook focusing on his motivations and the rules for purchasing such guns. Kelly, a former astronaut, said he intended to eventually hand in the rifle to Tucson police but planned to keep the handgun.

Kelly and Giffords started a gun control advocacy group, Americans for Responsible Solutions, amid the wave of recent mass shootings. They have been touring the country in recent months in support of expanded background checks for gun purchases.

Kelly bought the guns at a Tucson shop the day before he appeared with his wife at the supermarket where she was wounded during a shooting rampage that left six dead and 12 others injured two years ago. Giffords resigned from Congress last year as she continues to recover from her injuries.

Say Goodbye To Glocks, Sig Sauers & Shotguns Under Feinstein “Assault Weapons Ban”

This is from Freedom Outpost.

This sums up my feelings.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin
We need to draw a hard line against the loss of liberty.

Yesterday I told you that Senator Dianne Feinstein’s proposed “assault weapons ban” bill would include banning handguns and require gun owners to be fingerprinted. Well, there is much more to the story. The handguns mentioned were pretty specific and if this bill is passed, you can say “Goodbye” to purchasing a new Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, M&P, H&K, or Colt among other name brands.

What is the reasoning for this? According to Feinstein’s site:

Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic.

I point this out because most in the line of the above mentioned brands fit the criteria outlined in this bill. In fact, that was one of the major reasons I ended up purchasing Glocks. It wasn’t for the name brand. It was because they met certain military requirements for durability and reliability.

Additionally, you’ll notice it isn’t just assault weapons or even semi-automatic handguns Feinstein mentions. Included are shotguns with detachable magazines that have one military characteristic. These would include pump action shotguns with magazines, as well as, semi-automatic shotguns with magazines.

You may be thinking to yourself that the weapons you already own that fit into these categories will be grandfathered in. You would be correct. However, as I pointed out yesterday that grandfathering requires the following:

  • Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
  • Background check of owner and any transferee;
  • Type and serial number of the firearm;
  • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
  • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law;

In addition, there is an additional tax for you to pay when you register those weapons under the National Firearms Act that you already own! According to the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, “The NFA imposes a $200 tax per firearm.” So, they are going to charge you a couple of hundred bucks more for every weapon you already own that falls under these categories!

So while we’ve been hearing lots about the AR-15, and excellent and accurate rifle, and the snooty remarks about how “no one needs a 30 round magazine,” the sneakiness of the Democrats on the new bill doesn’t disappoint us as Senator Feinstein has gone way beyond any of that. The focus of late has been on the military style rifles, in the wake of the shootings recently, including the one that took place in Newtown, Connecticut. Semi-automatic handguns have had some degree of light cast upon them as well, but the call for banning is not just about these weapons and it isn’t just about children murdered at Sandy Hook. It’s the old adage of the “camel getting it’s nose in the tent.”

This is just a way for Democrats and gun grabbers to get their foot in the door, on their way to attempt to ban all guns. Right now they claim to want to do it only prospectively, but should this pass and more shootings occur, there will be a push to do it retroactively. Personally, I wonder how they will enforce it. Should it come to that, I believe there are many Americans who will give their guns to the government. In fact, many are doing so now for next to nothing gift cards. Others however, in the spirit of the founding fathers, will give the feds their guns….ammunition first, of course.

But what will be next? Now it’s military style rifles, semi-automatic handguns and shotguns. How long before revolvers are included? What about Deringers? How long before even a simple .22 rifle or handgun, or even a BB gun will be pushed as a “threat to society?”

Awr Hawkins is right: “If we are foolish enough to embrace a ban on any weapon in the coming Congress then we are unwittingly embracing a ban on every weapon.”
