House advances bill forbidding Sharia law as defense in state court

This is from The Post Courier.

Bravo South Carolina.

COLUMBIA — Lawyers and defendants in South Carolina would not be able to cite Sharia law or other international defenses in court cases if a Charleston lawmaker’s proposal is enacted.

The bill, sponsored by Republican Rep. Chip Limehouse, is one step closer to becoming law after the House on Thursday approved it on a second reading. The proposal prevents an attorney from arguing that the laws of a client’s home country allow for certain actions. It passed 68-42.

Sharia law is the legal framework where the public and some private aspects of life are regulated under legal systems based on Islam.

Limehouse said the law is needed “so an attorney can’t go into state court and say that the defendant that beat up his daughter for going on a date with a non-Muslim was within his rights according to (Sharia law).”

While Limehouse said there are no known cases of attorneys in South Carolina trying to use international laws as a defense, it has happened in other parts of the country.

The lack of cases in South Carolina was a main argument against the bill raised by Rep. James Smith, D-Columbia, who said it did more harm than good.

“You can identify no concern, no entity that this applies to,” he said. “This is to get people fearful so they vote for you.”

Smith said taking up bills like Limehouse’s helps him understand why constituents are frustrated with lawmakers.

“The first debate of this chamber in 2016 is about Sharia law,” he said. “It’s not going to pay for roads, it’s not going to educate a child, it’s not going to create a job. We’re not doing what it is our responsibility to do.”

Limehouse said the law was necessary to keep residents safe.

“Sharia law is completely inconsistent with our culture,” he said. “This bill clarifies that it will not be recognized in our courts.”

The bill will be up for a third reading next week before being sent to the Senate.

Nikki Haley: Death Penalty for Roof, Not Gun Control

This is from NewsMax.

Governor Nikki Haley’s words are of a true American Patriot.

I bet the DemocRat Good Old Boys in South Carolina are going crazy as they want more gun control.

This murdering coward needs to be put to death quickly.

People want something to blame for the shootings that claimed nine lives at Charleston’s historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church this week, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said Friday, but the truth is “there’s a very evil kid out there that we need to blame.”

“Now we want to start the healing process,” Haley told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” in response to a question about President Barack Obama’s statement Thursday on gun violence in connection with the killings.

Later, Haley appeared on the “Today” show where she called for alleged shooter Dylann Roof to get the maximum punishment.

“We will absolutely want him to have the death penalty,” Haley NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on “Today.”  Roof was the only person to blame, she said,  “a person filled with hate.”

“Once we get through healing process,” she said, “I know there will be a lot of conversation.”

On Thursday, gun-rights groups slammed Obama’s call for a national reckoning on gun violence, when he commented that “this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.”

Haley, though, told Fox that “apparently he’s got a job to do, but my job is that there are nine families who are incredibly hurt. There is an Emanuel church family that’s beside themselves.”And, the Republican governor said, the “time right now is not right for South Carolina” to be having the gun control debate.

Haley, who choked back tears on Thursday while addressing the public about the shooting, on Friday said that the past two days have been a “devastating, devastating situation to deal with.”

Police arrested Dylann Storm Roof, 21, a white man from Lexington, South Carolina, on Thursday after a 14-hour manhunt, tracking him down in Shelby, North Carolina, about 220 miles north of the shooting site.

Police found a weapon in Roof’s car, possibly the one used to open fire on the church’s Bible study group after sitting in with its members for nearly an hour. Roof has reportedly confessed to the crime, telling officers he wanted to start a race war.

“I talked with my investigators yesterday, [and] they said they looked pure evil in the eye,” Haley said Friday. “That’s what we’re talking about. It’s a kid that thought in a way that people in South Carolina don’t think.”

State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, 41, the church’s pastor, was among those killed in the attack. He was a married father of two daughters, and was first elected to the state House at 23, making him the youngest member of that legislative body at the time.

The killings were never anything South Carolinians thought they ever have to deal with, Haley told Fox News on Friday, “but we’re a strong, prayerful state, we’ll come together and we’ll get through this.”

But for now, it’s hard.

“Going to a place of worship is a place that you are vulnerable,” she said. “You forget the world for a while, you are there to focus and just think about God and all the blessings do you have. Never do you think that you have to worry about walking into a church and being concerned that something is going to happen.”

Haley predicted that as a result of the shocking act, churches will need to start to have security, as “it’s a different day and time.”

She said the events led her to an emotional conversation with her own son, who, like so many people, did not understand what happened.

“On Wednesdays in South Carolina, many families are at church, and so he wanted to know why this happened and what the reasoning was, and I said, ‘You know, all we can say is this is pure hate and that’s not what you go into a church to do.'”

Boeing Dragged Back Into The Union Fight

This is from The Daily Caller.

I do not see the union being successful in making the South Carolina Boeing plant a union shop.

Unions are not very popular in South Carolina.

Federal labor board officials approved at union vote Tuesday at the Boeing plants in South Carolina, despite adamant opposition from the company.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) approved the request by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) who are hoping to organize the 3,000 workers at Boeing’s 787 production facility in North Charleston. However, Boeing has been vocally opposed to the idea.

The NLRB set the vote for Apr. 22 after both Boeing and the union agreed to waive a hearing on the matter, reports Reuters.

“This is an important step on the road to a collective bargaining agreement for workers at Boeing South Carolina,” Mike Evans, IAM lead organizer, said in a statement. “This is a chance for Boeing workers and their families to substantially improve their careers and communities. The law provides for a free and fair election without intimidation or harassment and we intend to ensure it is conducted accordingly.”

According to The Associated Press, Candy Eslinger, a spokeswoman for Boeing, said Wednesday that about 3,000 plant workers are eligible to vote out of the 7,500 it employs in South Carolina.

Gov. Nikki Haley last week attacked the union for being hypocritical, noting that it was only several years back it opposed the South Carolina plant from opening.

It was actually a labor dispute that compelled Boeing to open its plant in South Carolina instead of Everett, Wash. Boeing was founded in Seattle.A New York Times article from 2011 notes that the conflict got so bad, the NLRB accused Boeing of illegally setting up shop in South Carolina to escape union organized strikes. However, some lawmakers became concerned that the NLRB telling Boeing they could not move would set a bad precedent.

Senator Lindsey Graham: I Have No Doubt Obama Loves America and He Is A Patriot

This is from Freedom OutPost.

I know Lindsey Graham is an idiot that has no business being a dog catcher.

Sadly, he is a United States Senator from South Carolina and is thinking about running for president.

Oh Hell No!

I will go on the record saying Barack Obama hates America and wants it destroyed and occupied by Muslims.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) is now testing the waters for a possible 2016 run for the White House. I’m sure some are still blinded to his corruption to the point where they would vote for him. I’m not one of them.

However, over the weekend, Senator Graham used double speak to defend Barack Obama from comments made by former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani that Obama hates America.

“Well, I love Rudy, but I don’t want to go there. The nation’s very divided. President Obama has divided us more than he’s brought us together and I don’t want to add to that division,” Graham said on ABC’s “This Week.” “I have no doubt that he loves his country. I have no doubt that he’s a patriot. But his primary job as president of the United States is to defend this country and he’s failing miserably.”

OK, let’s think about this a moment, shall we? Graham says, “The nation’s divided.” He then follows it up with who is dividing it, “Obama has divided us more than he’s brought us together.”

Does that sound like love for one’s country or the other way around?

Next, Graham claims that Obama’s primary job is to defend the country. However, he then says, “He’s failing miserably.”

Could someone get Lindsey Graham a dictionary concerning the terms “love” and “patriot”? How can the man love his country yet divide it more than bring it together? How can a man be a patriot with the responsibility of defending the country yet be failing miserably?

Graham went on to say that part of Obama’s failure to defend the country lies in his unwillingness to identify Islamists as Islamic. While Graham likes the term like most in the media of “radical” Islamists, we all are, or should be, aware that those referred to as “radicals” by politicians and media are the real deal Islamists. Those not adhering to the teaching of the Koran are not moderates. They are hypocrites, according to the Koran.

“They’ve adopted a theory of religion that’s 1,000 years old that requires a worldwide caliphate that will purify the Islamic religion, kill or convert every Christian and Jew and vegetarian in their way,” Graham said. “They’re not going to stop unless somebody stops them.”

“I’ve never been more worried about my country than I am today in terms of radical Islam, and yes, it is radical Islam,” he said.

No Senator Graham, it is not. It’s Islam, period. Break out the texts of the Koran, study the life of Muhammad and you will find that these devils are following in his footsteps. At least our founding fathers had enough sense to read the enemy’s handbook and understand his ideology and then fight him… constitutionally. I can’t say the same thing for Senator Graham, Barack Obama, George W. Bush or Congress as a whole.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, also appearing on “This Week” rejected Graham, though he did so in classic taqiyyah style.

“In my view, if we start referring to ISIL (Islamic State, which was formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and SYRIA) as occupying any form of the Islamic theology, we’re pretty much dignifying them as occupying some form of that faith,” Johnson said. “They don’t. Islam is about peace and brotherhood. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in this world and the true Islamic faith has nothing to do with what ISIL represents, and so, to start labeling them as Islam or Islamic State in any respect I think gives them far more dignity than they deserve.”

Graham then wants more boots on the ground in Syria and Iraq. Apparently, this is to fight the very people that he and ‘songbird’ John McCain helped Obama fund, train, and arm.

Graham also thinks a possible presidential bid would allow him to “create a pathway forward to straighten out the mess we’re in and we’ll see where that goes.”

With all due respect to Senator Graham, he has been part of the problem in all of this. He voted for continuing resolutions and a budget that fully funded unconstitutional spending, such as Obamacare. He has supported arming and funding jihadists in Syria (Islamic State). He has supported the indefinite detention of Americans that he would label “enemy combatants” and violate their right to trial based on “inside information.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for addressing Islamists in America, even US citizens who are Muslim if they are engaging in activities against the US, but there is a proper way to deal with them. His support of NDAA has led to the detaining of American patriots, such as Marine Brandon Raub, by this administration. This is what he doesn’t get… or maybe he does. He also opposed Rand Paul’s filibuster concerning drones being used to assassinate American citizens as he opposed the nomination of Muslim convert John Brennan as head of the Central Intelligence Agency. Graham voted to confirm Brennan.

After voting to use US taxpayer money to arm and train jihadists in Syria, Graham said, “To my colleagues who worry about the people we trained with the arms falling into wrong hands, I would say there’s nothing we can do in this area without some risk.”

Graham is a willing participant in what is taking place in the Middle East right now. He didn’t risk anything. He knew these people were Islamists and he took our money and armed and trained them anyway. Now, he wants to complain? Now, he wants people to support him for president? Seriously?

Well, I’ve got a better idea. I’ll be showing up at his office (one of seven that he has that are funded with our tax dollars) this Saturday (February 28) at 2pm for round two in the AmericaAgain! Good Guys challenge. Check out last month’s round one here. I wish Senator Graham would not only repent before a just and holy God, but also that he would stop engaging in reckless behavior and treasonous actions such as arming our enemies. However, I will call him out on that. After all, he wanted to run for the office. He asked for the people’s vote. He took the oath. No one forced him into anything, and he has demonstrated that he is unworthy to continue as the representative of the people of South Carolina in the United States Senate.

If you would like to join me, feel free to click on the contact button at the top of the page and send me a message. We will meet at Senator Graham’s office located at 235 East Main Street, Suite 100, Rock Hill, SC 29730 at 2pm EST. This will be a non-violent event (if that is what you may have in mind, please stay home) in which we will lay out an “intent to repossess” the offices of Senator Graham via the AmericaAgain indictment engine according to state law. I would welcome anyone and everyone who desires to participate to meet and stand with me.

Happy Holidays, From OPEC: Will Gas Drop to $2?

This is from Fox News Business.

Where would gas prices be if we were drilling in Anwar and the Keystone XL Pipeline was built?

Holiday travelers are getting a nice gift this year with gasoline prices well below $3 a gallon in most states. Some drivers could pay even less than $2 this week after OPEC’s decision to stand still ignited a big selloff in oil. is projecting that by the end of the week a gas station in Texas or South Carolina will be the first in the U.S. to drop its price for regular gas to $1.99 a gallon.

“Even a week ago, I would have said no way,” Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy, said when asked whether $2 gas comes as a surprise. “What a gift from OPEC. It’s the perfect time of year for this to happen.”

Last week, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries said its members will keep oil production at current levels. Many industry experts expected the cartel to slash production amid a deep slide in oil prices, which hit five-year lows following the announcement.

Oil has rapidly retreated over the last five months, as traders have grown increasingly worried that global supplies are exceeding demand. All eyes are on surging production in the U.S., where drillers are capitalizing on hard-to-reach shale oil.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil rebounded $2.39, or 3.6%, to $68.54 a barrel in recent trading Monday. WTI for January delivery tumbled as low as $63.72 a barrel.

Slumping oil prices have provided relief at gas pumps across the country. According to GasBuddy, the national average was approximately $2.76 a gallon Monday morning, down 24 cents versus last month and 52 cents year-over-year.

That means big savings for motorists, just in time for the holiday shopping season. Americans are spending $200 million less on gas every day compared to last year.

DeHaan initially believed gas prices would fall to an average of $2.85 a gallon by Christmas, but the market’s volatile response to the OPEC news was a game-changer. Now he’s forecasting gas in the $2.50s.

About 12% of U.S. gas stations already charge less than $2.50 a gallon. More than a third of stations will be under $2.50 by Christmas, DeHaan said, and he characterized his estimate as conservative.

Drivers who live near the Gulf of Mexico, or in states with lower gas taxes, are more likely to see prices of $2.50 or less by the end of the year. But the chances of a nationwide drop to $2 a gallon remain slim. DeHaan noted that $2 gas will be available at isolated stations, while the national average won’t drop below $2 unless oil prices breach $60 a gallon.

“These sudden plunges in oil are very worrisome because it suggests the market is in a panic mode. A gradual decline is much more likely to last than a brief plunge,” he explained.

Police identify last known owner of loaded gun found in Target toy aisle

It seems a Son of Obama is being looked for in the case of a loaded gun in the Toy Aisle at Son of Obama

The last known owner of the gun is a Daughter of Obama.

Were they recruited by the antigunners  in South Carolina?

Personally, I smell a rat.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A real gun was found in the toy aisle of Target on Seaboard Street. The police report states a loss prevention worker stumbled upon the gun Friday night.

The gun was in plain view on top of a superhero Playskool toy box when the worker found it; he thought it was a toy. He realized it was real after seeing it was loaded with live ammo.

The fact that it was found in an aisle geared toward children makes some shoppers feel this was no accident.

“I don’t think someone would accidentally drop off a gun. I think he purposely left it there for a child to pick up and think, ‘Oh, it’s a toy gun,’ and accidentally point it at somebody and it goes off,” says Kennedy McClain.

Fletcher Armstrong III, a Concealed Weapons Permit instructor with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, explains it is never too early to start talking gun safety with children.

He narrows it down into four easy-to-understand steps: “If a child comes across a gun they should follow four steps: Stop. Don’t touch. Leave the area, and tell an adult.”

The police report mentions there was a suspicious male walking up and down each toy aisle, including the aisle the gun was found.

On Thursday, the Myrtle Beach Police Department released a photo of the man they are attempting to identify in reference to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective H. Jones at 843-918-1911.

On Friday, Myrtle Beach Police released the identity of the last known registered owner of the handgun: Chavonne Tere Moore.

Senior Specialist of Target’s Public Relations Department, Evan Lapiska, sent WMBF News the following statement:

“The safety and security of our team members and guests is a top priority for Target. We take these matters very seriously and we are partnering with local law enforcement on this incident. Because this matter is under active investigation, we are unable to share additional information.”

Shoppers say they are thankful the gun was found before a child mistook it for a toy.

Congressmen Want to Bring Obama to Court for Not Faithfully Executing Laws

This is from The Weekly Standard.

Cue the left along with the race hustlers Jackson and

Sharpton screaming racism is 3 2 1.

30 members support the House Resolution

calling for civil action.

Congressman Tom Rice of South Carolina, a Republican, is sponsoring a resolution in the House of Representatives that would, if adopted, direct the legislative body “to bring a civil action for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge certain policies and actions taken by the executive branch.” In other words, Rep. Rice wants to take President Obama to court for not faithfully executing the laws.

“President Obama has adopted a practice of picking and choosing which laws he wants to enforce. In most cases, his laws of choice conveniently coincide with his Administration’s political agenda. Our Founding Fathers created the Executive Branch to implement and enforce the laws written by Congress and vested this power in the President.  However, President Obama has chosen to ignore some of the laws written by Congress and implemented by preceding Presidents,” Rice wrote in a letter to fellow House members to ask them to co-sponsor this resolution.

“This resolution allows the House of Representatives to bring legal action against the Executive Branch and challenge recent actions, inactions, and policies.”

The “legal action against the President” would be, according to an aide for Rep. Rice, “for ignoring Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution.” Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution states,

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

The resolution alleges that President Obama and his administration have abused executive power and failed to execute the laws of the United States faithfully.

Thus, the resolution calls for “CIVIL ACTION.—The House of Representatives shall bring a civil action in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge any of the following policies or actions:

(1) The policy of the Department of Health and Human Services that, with respect to health insurance coverage that is renewed for a policy year during the period beginning January 1, 2014, and ending October 1, 2014, health insurance issuers may continue to offer coverage that would otherwise be terminated or cancelled for being out of compliance with various requirements of title XXVII of the Public Health Service Act and corresponding portions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as announced by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services on November 14, 2013.

(2) The 1-year delay in the application of the reporting requirements of sections 6055 and 6056 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (and related requirements of section 4980H of such Code), as provided under Department of the Treasury Notice 2013–45, as announced by the Department of the Treasury on July 2, 2013.

(3) The policy of the Department of Homeland Security to exercise prosecutorial discretion with respect to individuals who came to the United States as children, as announced by the Department of Homeland Security on June 15, 2012.

(4) The authorization, approval, renewal, modification, or extension of any experimental, pilot, or demonstration project under section 1115 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1315) that waives compliance with a requirement of section 407 of such Act (42 U.S.C. 607) through a waiver of section 402 of such Act (42 U.S.C. 602).

In plain English, and in the words Rice used to ask fellow members to sign onto the resolution, the complaints are:

1.       President Obama recently announced an “administrative fix” in regard to cancelled healthcare plans due to Obamacare.  Of course he plans to provide a “fix” which will substantially alter his signature legislation without involving Congress.

2.       Over the summer, President Obama’s Administration announced a one-year delay in Obamacare’s employer mandate without involving Congress.

3.       Last year, President Obama’s Administration granted temporary status to illegal immigrants who entered the United States as children without involving Congress.

4.       In June 2012, President Obama’s Administrative provided a waiver initiative for the welfare work requirement under TANF without involving Congress.

So far, 29 members of Congress are co-sponsoring Rice’s Resolution: Bachmann (MN-06), Bridenstine (OK-01), Chaffetz (UT-03), J. Duncan (SC-03), DeSantis (FL-06), Franks (AZ-08), Gowdy (SC-04), Harris (MD-01), Lamborn (CO-05), LaMalfa (CA-01), Marino (PA-10), McClintock (CA-04), Meadows (NC-11), Nunnelee (MS-01), Pittenger (NC-09), Posey (FL-08), Tom Price (GA-06), Ribble (WI-08), Salmon (AZ-05), Sanford (SC-01), Schweikert (AZ-06), Stewart (UT-02), Stockman (TX-36), Walberg (MI-07), Weber (TX-14), Wenstrup (OH-02), Williams (TX-25), Joe Wilson (SC-02), and Yoho FL-03.

Here’s full resolution, which is expected to be filed with the House clerk’s office very soon:

Directing the House of Representatives to bring a civil action for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge certain policies and actions taken by the executive branch.

Whereas President Obama and officials in his administration have frequently overstepped the limits placed on executive branch power by the Constitution;

Whereas because of President Obama’s continuing failure to faithfully execute the laws, his administration’s actions cannot be addressed by the enactment of new laws, be- cause Congress cannot assume that the President will execute the new laws any more faithfully than the laws he has already ignored, leaving Congress with no legislative remedy to prevent the establishment of what is in effect an imperial presidency; and

Whereas it is therefore necessary and appropriate for Congress to turn to the courts to ensure the faithful execution of the laws as required by the Constitution: Now, therefore, be it

76 Year Old Dies In Shootout With Gang Of Thug Robbers

This is from Mr.Conservative.

Two sons and a daughter of Obama try to rob a

76 year old South Carolina woman.

It is a shame the punk Mrs.Hendrix shot did not die.

A 76 year old woman is dead today after being attacked on her own property after returning home from bingo. The woman, Dorothy Hendrix, was shot twice outside her South Carolina home by three thugs.  Before being shot, however, she was able to shoot and wound one of her assailants.

Hendrix soon passed away from her injuries, but Steven Hagood, Tereba Geer, and Bradacious Galloway have all been arrested and charged with murder.

In 2011, Hendrix had been robbed while carrying money from the bingo hall she volunteered for.  She was unarmed and had to unwillingly give the money to her assailants.  She had since then applied for her carry and conceal license and purchased a firearm.

Her brother, Ronnie Lollis said that, “She had been robbed right here at her house, coming out of her house. That’s what made her get her gun. I don’t understand why she wanted to keep coming back.”

After returning from the bingo club on Saturday, the gang of three apparently approached the woman with the intention of robbing her.  Hendrix did have a large sum of money with her which authorities speculate that the gang had prior knowledge of, as the attack at her home seemed as if it had been planned.

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper stated that, “This was not a random act. The robbery was planned, and she was specifically targeted. The trio had knowledge that Hendrix carried large sums of money home with her at night.”

When the gang approached her, Ms. Hendrix was able to draw her weapon and shoot one of her assailants in the stomach.  A different member of the gang also drew their weapon after seeing Hendrix shoot their friend, and proceeded to return fire.  Hendrix was hit twice — once in the abdomen and once in the arm.

Ms. Hendrix died in the company of family, holding hands, as she lied in her front lawn.

Lollis, told reporters that, “She fought. She was a fighter. She shot him.”

Murdering savages

The man who was shot in the stomach, Steven Hagood, 33 is currently recovering in a hospital where is being guarded by police.  The hazard to society was also “served with a family bench warrant for unpaid child support of $80,000.” This man should have been off the streets long before this could have happened.

The other two, Tereba Geer, 26, and Bradacious Galloway, 23, have been arrested and charged with murder.

How low do you have to stoop to steal from an elderly woman for a few bingo bucks?

Let us know what you think.

Gun-rights activists ask Supreme Court to uphold ‘Firearms Freedom Act’

This is from Fox News Politics.

As screwy as the Supreme Court is who knows how

the court will rule.

Just look a the Obamacare ruling.

HELENA, Mont. –  Gun advocates asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday to overturn a lower court’s ruling against state laws designed to buck federal gun rules.

Earlier this year, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district judge’s decision against the 2009 Montana Firearms Freedom Act. The law attempts to declare that federal firearms regulations don’t apply to guns kept in the state where they were manufactured.

Other pro-gun states have passed similar measures.

The Justice Department has argued successfully that the courts already have decided Congress can use its power to regulate interstate commerce. Some gun-control advocates sided with the federal argument, saying “firearm freedom acts” would allow felons to obtain guns without background checks and make it harder to trace guns used in crimes.

Gun advocates have long said only the Supreme Court can decide the case because it will have to limit the reach of Congress to regulate guns. The Supreme Court is expected to decide next year whether to accept the request.

The advocates, led by the Montana Shooting Sports Association, have had legal support from the attorneys general from the pro-gun states of Montana, Utah, Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming. States that have formally passed a version of Firearms Freedom Act include Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Tennessee, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

MSSA president Gary Marbut has said he wants to manufacture a small, bolt-action youth-model rifle called the “Montana Buckaroo” for sale in Montana. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms told Marbut such a gun would be illegal under Montana law, prompting a lawsuit by the group against the U.S. attorney general.

Marbut said high court decisions dating back to 1942 dealing with certain interstate commerce need to be reversed. The request to the Supreme Court argues the rulings have allowed more concentration of power with the federal government, creating problems like more national debt and the potential for abuses of power.

“Without the centralization of so much regulatory power in the federal government, tyranny would be a lot less likely to occur,” the argument reads.

Top 5 states with most deep-fried turkey accidents

This is from Fox News.

Although a mighty delicious tradition, deep-frying a turkey on Thanksgiving can be risky.

Every year deep-fryer fires are responsible for five deaths, 60 injuries, the destruction of 900 homes, and more than $15-million in property damage, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

So you want to know which state has the most accidents?

For the last seven years, Texas has led the country in most grease- and cooking-related insurance claims on Thanksgiving Day, with 38according to insurance company State Farm.  Illinois follows, with 27 reports and Pennsylvania and Ohio are tied for third with 23.  New York ranked fourth, with 22 claims and South Carolina and Georgia claimed fifth with 16 claims each.

Check out State Farm’s safety video starring Si and Jase Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” fame.  They give helpful and hilarious tips on how to avoid those nasty shooting flames.
