Arrest of Refugee Fuels U.S. Debate on Immigration Policy

This is from The New York Times.

While the DHS managed to catch this Muslim how many more have slipped by DHS?

WASHINGTON — The arrest of a California man on charges that he traveled to Syria to fight with terrorist groups, then lied about it to the Department of Homeland Security, offers new ammunition for both sides in the fierce debate over the refugee policy of the Obama administration.

Conservatives and some federal law enforcement officials say the case of the Californian, Aws Mohammed Younis al-Jayab, 23, shows that the refugee program leaves the nation vulnerable to terrorism. But Homeland Security officials and Democrats in Congress contend that his arrest demonstrates that the system works.

The ambiguities of Mr. Jayab’s arrest last month are at the core of a dispute over whether the United States should tightly restrict immigration from countries associated with terrorism, or should join some European nations in accepting rigorously screened applicants in order to help stem the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris and the mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., have prompted a broader examination of America’s immigration policy because some officials fear that terrorists could exploit the ways people enter the country.

Before his arrest, Mr. Jayab seemed like a typical young adult: He liked sports cars, studied computer programming at a community college in Sacramento and worked nights as a security guard.

But the federal authorities have charged that Mr. Jayab, who was born in Iraq and came to the United States as a refugee from Syria, traveled to that war-torn country from late 2013 to early 2014 to fight on the side of terrorist groups and then lied about it to the authorities. He faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.

“Jihadists see these programs as a back door into America and will continue to exploit them until we take action,” said Representative Michael McCaul, Republican of Texas and chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, during a hearing this month on refugee and visa programs.

But supporters of the administration’s program, like Senator Thomas R. Carper, Democrat of Delaware and ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said the arrest of Mr. Jayab and other refugees shows that the system succeeded in blunting a threat. He added that the long screening process for Syrian refugees makes it unlikely that terrorists would try to come to the United States as refugees.

“Terrorists would be crazy to wait 18 to 24 months while undergoing a rigorous screening process to get into the country,” Mr. Carper said in an interview.

Still, some members of Congress and security experts say the arrest of Mr. Jayab has forced them to question the screening process. Federal court documents show that at least 14 people who came to the United States as refugees have been arrested on terrorism charges in the last two years, including Mr. Jayab.

“I thought that it was very secure until I saw the arrest in California and Texas,” said John J. Farmer Jr., former senior counsel to the federal commission that investigated the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, who is now a professor at Rutgers. “Now, I have my concerns.”

The federal authorities charged that Mr. Jayab conspired with Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, 24, an Iraqi-born refugee living in Houston, to get weapons training and eventually sneak into Syria to fight alongside terrorist groups.

Benjamin Galloway, a federal public defender in Sacramento and Mr. Jayab’s lawyer, said his client had done nothing wrong. “There is no threat that this man poses and no indication that he’s engaged in any activity since his return two years ago,” he said.

Many of the Paris attackers were European citizens and could have entered the United States under the visa waiver program. Tashfeen Malik, one of the attackers in San Bernardino, was granted entry to the United States on a K-1 visa, which can be given to the fiancé or fiancée of an American citizen. And a number of refugees from Bosnia, Iraq and Somalia have been arrested and charged with supporting terrorists.

Homeland Security officials say the refugee screening process has a much lower security risk.

Refugees recommended for resettlement in the United States first undergo screening abroad, by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In addition to intensive interviews, the agency collects biometric data such as iris scans and photographs.

In the United States, refugees face another round of intense screenings and interviews by caseworkers at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in Washington. Their names are run through law enforcement and intelligence databases at the National Counterterrorism Center, the F.B.I., the Defense Department, the State Department and United States Customs and Border Protection, among other agencies.

The Citizenship and Immigration Services agency declined to answer questions about refugees who have been arrested on charges of terrorism, citing privacy.

Mr. Jayab, who came to the United States from Syria as a refugee in October 2012 and who lived for a time in Tucson and Milwaukee, seemed more interested in fast cars than in violent extremism.

Court records show that on Nov. 9, 2013, he flew to Turkey from Chicago and then traveled to Syria. He told officials that he had gone to Turkey to visit his grandmother. But between November 2013 and January 2014, federal officials say, Mr. Jayab sent private, direct messages on social media saying that he was in Syria fighting with various terrorist organizations, including Ansar al-Islam, which has been on the United States’ list of foreign terrorist organizations since 2004.

Mr. Jayab returned to the United States on Jan. 23, 2014, and settled in Sacramento, where he attended American River College and had a job as a security guard, according to his lawyer.

In interviews with immigration officials and with the F.B.I., Mr. Jayab denied that he had gone to Syria.

Senator Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin and chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said cases like Mr. Jayab’s caused him to worry about the refugee program. “What happens when nothing shows up in the databases?” he said in an interview.

Senior law enforcement officials and counterterrorism experts have expressed similar unease. James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director, told a congressional committee in October that the federal government could not conduct effective security checks on Syrian citizens. “We can query our database until the cows come home, but nothing will show up because we have no record of them,” he said.

Homeland Security officials acknowledged that it was possible for people to get through the screening process, but they added that their biggest worry was the radicalization of immigrants after their arrival in the United States.

“I can tell you who a person is today,” said a senior intelligence official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the screening program publicly. “But I can’t tell you who they will become tomorrow.”

FRANKLIN GRAHAM: ISIS Is Committing Genocide on Christians – World Is Silent

This from Clash Daily.

Franklin Graham is correct with his observations about ISIS committing genocide.

Other pastors and world leaders should be taking a hint from Franklin Graham, but don’t hold your breath for that. Rev. Graham recently wrote a Facebook post about the massive genocide that ISIS is committing against Christians and it has already been shared more than 46,000 times. Check it out…

It is genocide—and the world seems largely silent about it. Genocide perpetrated by the Islamic State against Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities of Syria and Iraq. And their methods are unimaginably cruel and heinous.

Just a few days ago it was revealed that three Assyrian Christians were executed on September 23, which is the Muslim “Feast of Sacrifice,” and they say they’ll kill more hostages. And recent reports share the horror of 12 other Christians being murdered on August 28. Why were they killed? For refusing to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ.

Eyewitnesses said that ISIS militants crucified a 12-year-old Christian boy and his Syrian missionary father along with two other men after mercilessly brutalizing them. They cut off the boy’s fingertips to try to get his father to convert to Islam. They left their bodies hanging on the crosses for two days under signs reading “infidels.”

On that same day, ISIS militants publicly raped two Christian women in front of a crowd and then beheaded them along with six others when they refused to convert to Islam. “They have every intention of spreading that bloodshed around the world, including America,” Fox News reported. Pray for an end to this horrendous evil in the name of religion.

One of Congress’ First Female Combat Veterans Smashes Obama’s Refusal to Label ISIS as ‘Islamic’

This is from Independent Journal Review.

How long before Nancy Piglosi and her goon squad start  harassing  Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) to make her move back to the Obama Plantation?

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is making waves as she criticizes President Obama on his refusal to “legitimize” ISIS by calling them Islamic.

According to ABC News:

“Known as a rising political star, the Hawaii Democrat is one of the first two female combat veterans elected to Congress. She did [two] tours in Iraq, and doesn’t hesitate to make her opinions known when it comes to defense issues. For instance, in 2013, she broke with the Obama administration by refusing to support airstrikes against Bashar al-Assad in Syria.”

In a 2013 piece for The Huffington Post, Gabbard explained her reasons for going against the administration on Syria:

“War is hell. But, as a soldier and combat veteran, I know it is sometimes necessary…Intervention of this sort requires a high bar for me to support–that it is in our nation’s security, diplomatic and moral interest…

The proposed intervention in Syria does not meet this test. I spent the last week with an open mind, examined the evidence, heard the Administration’s arguments…I have concluded that intervention in Syria goes against America’s national security, international credibility, economic interest, and moral center.”

Gabbard is no pushover, nor is she one to agree with the party line. Gabbard has made her opposition to President Obama’s refusal to label ISIS as “Islamic” known, appearing on both CNN, and Fox News to explain her concerns.

During an interview Wednesday with Fox’s Neil Cavuto, Gabbard explained her motivations in three parts:

First: If we don’t identify our enemies, we cannot defeat them.

“Unless you accurately identify who your enemy is, then you can’t come up with an effective strategy, a winning strategy to defeat that enemy. My concern here with the summit that’s happening right now in Washington is that it really is a diversion from what our real focus needs to be, and that focus is on this Islamic extremist threat that is posed not only to the United States and the American people, but around the world.”

Second: The administration’s explanations for extremism are incorrect.

“From what we’ve heard so far, the administration is really claiming that the motivation or the — the thing that’s fueling this terrorism, around the world, is something that has to do with poverty, has to do with a lack of jobs, or lack of access to education, really a materialistic motivation. And therefore, they are proposing that the solution must be to alleviate poverty around the world, to continue this failed Bush and Obama policy of nation building.”

Third: ISIS is radically theological, not simply materialistic.

“The danger here is, again, that you’re not identifying the threat, and you’re not identifying the fact that they are not fueled by a materialistic motivation, it’s actually a theological, this radical Islamic ideology that is allowing them to continue to recruit, that is allowing them to continue to grow in strength and really that’s really fueling these horrific terrorist activities around the world.”

Gabbard’s position against the President has garnered some bad press. The editorial board at The Honolulu Civil Beat published a scathing piece on Gabbard, arguing that her positions are simply semantics:

“Gabbard’s argument largely boils down to…dubious ideas…only in specifically, publicly tying terrorists to their religious ideology can the White House truly understand where the terrorist organizations recruit, how they think, etc. [and] his failure to use Gabbard’s preferred phrasing means he doesn’t ‘get’ any of this in the first place. Let’s be clear: These are not serious policy arguments.”

The article goes on to question Gabbard’s motivations for going against Obama, strongly implying that she simply wants to further her political career.

The attacks on Tulsi Gabbard  date as far back as 2012, when The Daily Kos railed against Gabbard, suggesting that ties to her father–a former State Senator–was a sign of nepotism, and a source of dangerous policy ideas.

Regardless of the ongoing attacks on her character, and her policy, Congresswoman Gabbard doesn’t seem to be interested in backing down.

ISIS Plans On Sending Muslims Infected With Ebola Into America To Infect And Kill Americans

This is from Freedom OutPost.

This is a great reason to seal our borders and then quarantine the

incoming Muslims and people from Ebola stricken countries.

ISIS threatened the United States and their allies with spreading the Ebola virus within those countries if they continue to wage war on the organization inside Syria and Iraq.

ISIS explained that its members can “synthesize and produce” “Ebola and Corona.” ISIS also said,

Followers and soldiers of the Islamic State are mostly suicide bombers and all of them are ready not only to carry Ebola, but to drink Ebola if they were asked to carry and spread it in the United States. This is not difficult but we need a decision from the leaders jihadist.

Ebola could easily be transmitted through bodily fluids, including sweat, tears, saliva, blood, urine, semen, etc., including objects that have come in contact with bodily fluids (such as bed sheets, clothing, and needles) and corpses.

It is said, “this disease will go airborne, and there are many other mechanisms through which mutation might make it much more transmissible.”

The statement from ISIS said that:

The process of spreading disease is not difficult, it is easily transported in a bottle in your bag and take them from Africa to America and open in a air-conditioning duct or put it in the public drinking water by elevator doors

The statement from ISIS also said:

The process of cultivating bacteria can be done by any student in the Faculty of Science or Department of Biology. They do not need complex laboratories and even a makeshift laboratory can be made in a small apartment in which we can farm millions of germs and viruses

However, Jack Chow, service professor of global health at Carnegie Mellon University, says that by the time a would-be martyr came to America, the symptoms of Ebola would be conspicuously displayed on his person, and he would be too sick to get passed customs.

But, this does not mean ISIS cannot use animals, especially bats, to carry Ebola into America. Bats in particular are effective carriers of Ebola and could be easily utilized to transport Ebola.

Muslims could also contract Ebola during the annual Hajj, which is suppose to be starting soon, in which millions of Muslims will gather together in Mecca. Saudi Arabian authorities have stepped up safety and security measures, and there is a long list of troubles they hope to avoid: crime, fire, stampedes, and the spread of infectious disease.

This year’s Hajj is shadowed by both the terrorist threat posed by Islamic State (IS) jihadists and the possible Ebola contagion. Over 98,000 have been prevented from entering by Saudi authorities for security reasons or due to a lack of authorization. Massive preventative measures have been taken by Saudi Arabia

New estimates by the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are warning that the number of Ebola cases could soar dramatically in the weeks and months ahead. The CDC says that unless efforts to curb the outbreak are ramped up significantly and quickly, the disease could infect up to 1.4 million people by mid-January in two nations, Sierra Leone and Liberia, alone.

Some epidemiologists are saying that there will be between 77,000 and 277,000 cases of Ebola by the end of 2014.

Does anyone find it odd Obama is sending ground forces to defeat Ebola but not ISIS?

This is from Liberty UnYielding.

What can sending troops to help in West Africa accomplish?

What I see happening is infecting our troops with Ebola.

Yesterday, President Barack Obama made a speech about a menace overseas that threatens the future well-being of our nation and laid out his plans to react decisively. He said:

[T]he world is looking to us, the United States, and it’s a responsibility that we embrace. We’re prepared to take leadership on this to provide the kinds of capabilities that only America has, and to mobilize the world in ways that only America can do.  That’s what we’re doing as we speak.

He also observed that we are sending 3,000 American troops to deal head-on with the crisis.

In other words, he is putting “boots on the ground.” But not in Iraq or Syria to face down the existential threat posed byIraq or Syria. Rather, he is committing U.S. military to the war on Ebola in West Africa.

This scourge, he noted, has claimed more than 2,400 men, women, and children. That’s less than half the number of men, women, and children ISIS had slaughtered by mid-July.

So is the rationale behind this seeming misplaced priority that Ebola is more deadly? Not by the president’s lights. In his speech, he said:

Here’s what gives us hope.  The world knows how to fight this disease.  It’s not a mystery.  We know the science.  We know how to prevent it from spreading.  We know how to care for those who contract it.

He went on to allow as how we have to move fast, but isn’t the clock also ticking in the case of ISIS, which has already identified its next beheading victim?

Don’t get me wrong. I believe that the Ebola epidemic needs to be addressed. I applaud Obama’s decision to deploy members of the U.S. Public Health Service field hospitals that are being setting up in Liberia.

Where I fault him is in his refusal to take similarly decisive action against ISIS because returning to the battlefield in Iraq after declaring the war there “over” will reflect badly on his legacy. The saddest part is that he still believes Americans aren’t seeing his naked political posturing for what it is.

McCain dies fighting for ISIS

This is from Joe For America.

There is one less terrorist in the world now this punk is dead.

May he rot in Hell.

The link below takes you to NBC”s story which includes the standard BS concerning how good a boy this thug was.

Not that one! American Douglas McAuthur McCain Dies Fighting for ISIS in Syria

I just couldn’t resist the opportunity… It also goes further to the point that Americans are fighting on the side of ISIS in Syria.

As reported by NBC…

Photo from Facebook

The battle in itself seemed tragically normal. Two Syrian opposition groups fought and there were heavy casualties on both sides. Then victorious rebels rifled through the pockets of the dead. One contained about $800 in cash — and an American passport.

Douglas McAuthur McCain, of San Diego, California, was killed over the weekend fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), according to the Free Syrian Army. Photos of McCain’s passport and of his body — which feature a distinctive neck tattoo — have been seen by NBC News. According to an activist linked to the Free Syrian Army who also saw the body and travel document, McCain was among three foreign jihadis fighting with ISIS who died during the battle.

Senior administration officials told NBC News they were aware that McCain was killed in Syria, adding that they believe dozens of Americans have gone there to fight with extremist groups – including, but not limited to, ISIS.
“The threat we are most concerned about to the homeland is that of fighters like this returning to the U.S. and committing acts of terrorism,” a senior administration official told NBC News.

NBC News has contacted several members of McCain’s family and dozens of friends – including his mother, sister, aunts and cousins. A woman who said she was McCain’s aunt confirmed that he had “passed” and referred calls to McCain’s mother.

FBI: New Yorker from Yemen plotted to kill troops

This is from Yahoo News.

How many more of these Benedict Arnold’s and Quisling’ss are still out there?

Sadly, we will never know.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A New York business owner from Yemen plotted vengeance attacks against members of the U.S. military for American actions overseas and Shiite Muslims over the civil war in Syria, according to federal authorities.

Federal authorities said in court papers that Mufid Elfgeeh, 30, of Rochester, bought two handguns and two silencers as part of a plan to kill members of the U.S. armed forces returning from war, as well as Shiites in the Rochester area.

Elfgeeh was arrested Saturday and faces two counts of receiving and possessing an unregistered firearm silencer. No plea was entered during a court appearance Monday. Public defender Mark Hosken, who was appointed to handle the case, was not available for comment.

The investigation included linking Elfgeeh’s home computer to tweets from alias Twitter accounts expressing support for al-Qaida, violent holy war and Sunni insurgent groups in Syria, according to court papers.

The FBI gave an informant a Walther PPK .32-caliber handgun and a Glock 26, 9 mm handgun, both with functional silencers affixed to the barrels, two boxes of .32-caliber ammunition, and two boxes of 9-millimeter ammunition, according to the affidavit.

Elfgeeh, a naturalized U.S. citizen who operates Halal Mojo and Food Mart in Rochester, paid the informant $1,050 in the transaction completed Saturday afternoon and was immediately arrested for possession of the silencers not registered in his name.

U.S. Attorney William Hochul said Monday that Elfgeeh faces 10 years in prison for each silencer and the possibility of a $250,000 fine.

Elfgeeh frequently used Twitter to tweet and retweet messages expressing support for various terrorist groups and holy war, seeking donations to assist fighters in Syria, and praising al-Qaida as “our only savior,” authorities said.

According to an FBI affidavit, a government informant taped a December conversation with Elfgeeh in which he stated: “I’m thinking about doing something here to be honest with you. I’m thinking about just go buy a big automatic gun from off the street or something and a lot of bullets and just put on a vest or whatever and just go around and start shooting.”

Authorities said Elfgeeh changed his plans in March to killing returning soldiers, and he said in a taped conversation with an informant that he planned to act alone: “It could be right now in the daytime, and I could be like this guy here or something I could just go back and wait for him to when he leave to go to his garage, and just walk up slowly, boom, boom, boom, inside his garage.”

When an informant asked him whether he was going to release a video message of his attacks, Elfgeeh responded, “Once we do five or ten already, 15, something like that then we gonna say something,” according to the affidavit.

Even though Elfgeeh used the word “we,” most of his comments indicated he intended to act alone and not immediately.

The FBI said it had been investigating Elfgeeh since early last year.

In an appearance Monday before a federal magistrate, Elfgeeh was appointed a lawyer from the Federal Public Defender’s Office and was sent to Monroe County Jail.

A bail hearing has been scheduled for June 16.

Muslims Crucify Two Teen Boys for Being Christians

This is from Eagle Raising.

These are the seventh century savages liberals say we need to coexist with

The photos that are linked to are very brutal and NSFW.

Winston Churchill on Islam,

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.

In another example of Islamic savagery, rebels in Syria (President Obama’s allies, remember?) have tortured and murdered many Christians in recent days. The reports of their violence are escaping the war torn nation in whispers and hushed rumor.

One such rumor comes out of the town of Maalouli, which is just north of Syria. Reports state that two young Christian boys were tortured and crucified by a Muslim mob for refusing to renounce Christianity. One of the young men was crucified in front of his father, who was then also murdered by the Muslim monsters. A similar incident took place just a few months ago – it seems crucifixion is becoming a favorite method of murder for the Islamists.

Graphic crucifixion image.

But there are other examples – the Catholic Church is reporting through some of their people still on the ground in Syria that Christians are being subjected to medieval terrors at the hands of local Islamists.

In an area called The Abri, which is an industrial zone just outside of Damascus, Islamist criminals began murdering men, women and children just as they entered the city. Even more disgusting, the murderous group played soccer with the heads of their victims once they were finished.

What the monsters did with the pregnant women and their unborn babies is even more disturbing – they pulled the children from their mothers and hanged the babies from a tree by their umbilical cords.

Another graphic crucifixion image.

islam syriaOver the last few months of reporting on Muslim atrocities from around the world, I have begun to grow accustomed to the barbaric behavior of these Islamists. Their actions continue to shock and disturb me. It seems that their bloodlust cannot be satisfied, and that with each new act of monstrosity they are trying to outdo the last act of violence.

Some commenters are quick to jump on me when I use the word extremists in articles like these. I do that for a reason… it makes life easier. People get mad when you characterize a whole group of people by the actions of some. With good reason – I would hate be judged by the actions of others. However, in Islam… the extremists are the majority.

In fact, it’s the moderates who are in the minority, and most of them live here in the West.

In our ally countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Egypt, the majority of the populations believe that anyone converting from Islam to Christianity should be executed. In Afghanistan and Iraq, the majority of people believe that honor killings are sometimes justified. (Honor killings being the murder of a girl who the family believes may be dishonoring them in some way.) This is scary for many reasons, one especially being that our ally countries are generally considered to be of the more moderate variety in the Islamic world.

So, dear reader, when I say “extremist Islam,” please understand that I mean most of Islam.

We must pray and press our political representatives to do what they can to help ease the burden of Christians living in the Muslim world. The horrors of what our brothers and sisters, and our fellow human beings, are living through are unspeakable… and we should be doing whatever we can to help.

Is US Mainstream Media Misreporting What is Happening in Crimea? Our Source Says “Yes” 9

This is from Freedom Outpost.

The Obama Media has lied to help prop up the Lying King.

I received an email yesterday from a friend of mine who is in the Navy. He is concerned with some misinformation that is being reported in American media and some of that certainly trickles down. Like most small publications we rely on getting our information from limited sources and sometimes those sources are not accurate.

In light of CNN and BBC being caught red-handed manufacturing false reports in Syria, I must certainly concede that my Naval friend is a more reliable source than some of the media outlets. And if one of the big outlets passes bad information it tends to go viral throughout the blogosphere. So for what it is worth, here is his report:

Over the last few days several articles have come out regarding the situation in Crimea. One article talked about Russian troop movements and showed a map with troop and vehicle indicators on it, and here’s what I’d like say about those articles. Who exactly counted the tanks and vehicles as they rolled off of the transport planes? Who chose to hang around during an invasion by a foreign armed force? How accurate and trustworthy are these reports?

I saw a report of a Russian corvette off of the coast, as well as a hover craft operating on the peninsula. For those of you not well versed in the different kinds of warships out there, a corvette is a small ship, barely more than a patrol craft in most cases. A hover craft might be big, but are normally never armed with more than one or two .50 caliber (12.5mm) machine guns. Nothing to really worry about in a naval sense, worry when the rest of the Black Sea Fleet arrives.

A report I have personally been able to do some investigation on, and legitimately call into question it’s accuracy, is a report that 10 Ukrainian warships have turned and sided with Russia, but according to “Jane’s Fighting Ships” the Ukrainians do not even have 10 warships. Patrol craft and minesweepers yes, but those can only be called warships under an exaggerated definition of the word warship.

I can also tell you for a fact, because i saw it with my own two eyes, that at the time of said report a Ukrainian frigate (the next size up in warship from a corvette) one of the few they have was not far from the Greek island of Crete, and it was flying a Ukrainian ensign at the time. The hull number for any interested was U130.

I write this article because I believe that some aspects of these reports we have been getting are misleading, whether intentionally so or not I will not say, however from this sailor’s stand point, Russia needs to be prevented from interferring with the Ukraine, they need to fight it out themselves, and the rest of us need to accept the outcome regardless of what it is. If the US, UN, or NATO take any form of military action, it should be solely against Russian armed forces, and not pro-Moscow Ukrainians.

Fair winds and Following seas Patriots.

-John Paul Jones

“John Paul Jones” goes by an alias for obvious reasons. He can’t put his career in jeopardy and he is very much on our side. The current administration would not be very understanding of a Patriot-Sailor.

In my opinion, the misreporting goes back to the whole “useful idiot” theory. Sometimes the alternative media is unknowingly acting as a tool of the “powers that be.” The best thing we can do is continue to search for truth and try to maintain the highest level of accuracy possible. With that said there is no doubt that sometimes we are caught up in being a propaganda machine just like all other media.

The difference is that when we become aware of it we will correct ourselves and try to navigate back toward the truth. There is no doubt in my mind that there have been some intentional leaks of false or over-hyped information. Without seeing it with our own two eyes, we rely on sources that we feel are credible and sometimes the truth is not quite as we see it.

Would it surprise you if the media is sensationalizing Crimea? Though I can’t put full faith in a Russian News source (which may show national bias), here is something to think about from

Ukraine’s statement at the UN that ‘16,000 Russian soldiers had been deployed’ across Crimea sparked a MSM feeding frenzy that steadfastly ignored any hard facts that got in their way.

Especially unwelcome is the fact that the so-called ‘invasion force’ has been there for 15 years already.

The media many trust described in hysterical tones how the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was under a full-scale Russian invasion with headlines like: “Ukraine says Russia sent 16,000 troops to Crimea”, “Ukraine crisis deepens as Russia sends more troops into Crimea,” as well as “What can Obama do about Russia’s invasion of Crimea?”

Would the Ukrainian government blatantly lie about the happenings in Crimea? If you don’t think they would you might want to think about who has been instrumental in the regime change that is happening.

The truth likely lies somewhere between Russian and American media reports.

This is the frustration of getting to the truth. This is why I do what I do, even though there are days I’d like to quit. There are times I end up embarrassed from passing along information that ends up later being false. But we will never do it intentionally and we will fight to expose the truth because people awakening to the truth is the only thing that can save America.
